Shop at costco they pay living wages. Also the standard of living in China keeps increasing. In fact they have the fasted increasing standard of living in the world (granted they werent too far off from africa a generation ago) .

If it surpasses the one of Europe and America it will be interesting to see how it will be framed that a communist country has the highest standard of living.

Don't know if it's going to work, but it feels like a conspiracy.

Well, if wal-mart is investing 250B into jobs, then they must be expecting a return in the trillions. What could be so profitable? War?

Well if we wen't to war , I'm not so sure Walmart would get larger portion of those Trillions.

I don't think this is eluding to war ,but I lean more towards the two following sceneries:
1. PR Stunt: No money will be spent and no jobs will be brought back.

2. Possible US economy collapse: If they spent that much money then they have some financial reasons to justify it.

Although possible I dont see them taking care of their US consumer base as a priority 1 ,as they are a Global corporations . While its obvious that your biggest consumer base is important, so are your operating cost. I see them having other options like manufacturing in Africa and keeping their world consumer base intact by still providing cheap labor, until the US economy comes back.

Regardless, I find it pretty fascinating when the trend of outsourcing was perfected by them and now they wan't to invest to undo their investment.

I was wondering if there are any updates on Walmarts pledge to spend 250 BILLION to bring back jobs to the US.

However it appears they are a little secretive on the progress

Walmart won't specify where it stands on progress toward its $250 billion goal, other than to say the company is on target.

Although some interesting additional details of the plan was released

The original wording in the ad stated:

Over the next ten years, we're putting $250 billion to work to help create new manufacturing jobs in America

Now It appears that has slightly changed to indicate that the $250 Billion will be used to purchase $250 Billion worth of US made goods.

Walmart says it wants to spend $250 billion on American-made products by 2023, and says buying from U.S. producers is good business.

Here are some announcements and US companies they are working with:

4. Impending negative work relations with China: Perhaps Walmart has come privy to information about the open work relations with China coming to a close within the next 10 years?

With all the China talk on the MSM and Tariff wars, maybe walmart was privy to something?

looking back at my post from 2015 and what they are doing with covid to attack our way of life, labor pool, and supply chain perhaps option 1 might have been a plausible reason?

but why?
one downfall of using cheap foreign labor and manufacturing from places such as china is losing intellectual property, losing proprietary trade secrets, massive knockoffs , the inability to relocate equipment to other countries which may offer better deals ,and the future of automation making cheap labor not an issue.

so ideally bringing back manufacturing to the US would give these Oligarch more control of their intellectual property. the only issue is the US cost of living, workers rights, labor rights, and due to a robost economy the cost of business is to high to bring back manufacturing.

. looking at what is going on today, Covid is surely changing our standard of living and way of life while our economy hangs by a virtual nano thread.

we are paying people to not work and not pay rent which is attacking our work force.

we are attacking the middle class by forcing landlords to pay mortgage and taxes while their renters live for free.

we are shutting down small and medium business due to covid restrictions.

the logistic pipeline has been severely impacted.

The cards certainly appear to be set for a financial collapse in the near future.

a finacial collapse of the US with a lowered standard of living and expectations would make bringing back manufacturing to the us financially doable. with rhe added bonus of more control of intellectual property rights.

also people being paid to not work allows to bring in cheap foreign h1b visa workers for the short term until automation picks up .

this is what i listed as option 1 back in 2015?
1. The scariest financial doom porn as of yet:

In order for wall-mart to do this it has to make financial sense and for it to make financial sense the US workers have to compete with Chinese workers. This issue is not in work habits, or abilities but rather working conditions and quality of live. In order to compete with Foreign cheap desperate slave labor we have to become domestic cheap desperate slave labor.
