I just came back from the Doctors.

Last nite after my shower I had this ringing in my ear and then I felt it. Water! I have gotten water in my inner ear.

How the heck did I do that????

I tried pressure, Blowing, Steam, laying on the bed and hanging my head over the side. I even made a big bowl of popcorn and slowly chewed for an hour. Nothing helped.
So I figured, If I didn't fix this, it would cause a ear infection. I called and made an appointment.

She tells me, "Your ears looks fine" There is nothing I can do. If it doesn't drain within a couple of weeks, to take a congestion med. If that doesn't work, take another otc med. If within month it doesn't work, she will send me to a ear & nose specialist.

Anyone have any suggestions? It doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable.

And she told me something I didn't know. Going out in the air doesn't effect the ears. It's usually a virus you get from others. Huy? When my kid's were little they told me the opposite.

I think I'm borderline. I was tested before and it came up negative.

I hate getting water there. I really don't know of a way to get it out. It eventually went out on its own when it happened to me. Have you tried a blow dryer on a low heat setting? Or is that what you meant by blowing?

You can get drops for 'swimmers ear' - give that a shot, worst case you will have it in your first aid kit ...
No harm done !

I hate it when you can hear yourself ... muffled and droning in one ear !

Hope it resolves quickly.

If you can...
Stand straight up, then quickly bend over as far as you can... as if tying your shoelaces.
Repeat that motion 3 or 4 times.

When it happened to me during windsurfing.... it eventually came out of my nose!!!

I hope this helps... even if it doesn't - take some photos!!! That would be funny!! LOL

Mine took several days to come out!

Could you don a BatCape and hang upside down from the belfry rafters for a few hours?

I've heard of a 'home' remedy...tried to think of how it goes.
A couple of drops of isopropyl alcohol and vinegar.
AND Skid's blow dryer idea was a good one...

Can you take the little flap (I CAN'T for the life of me think of what it's called ATM) of your ear and make a sort of suction and keep doing that?
Perhaps that will cause it to 'pop' and drain?

I do that sometimes if my ear is itchy...

It still alittle chilly to be hanging from the belfry (garage) rafters.

One of my boy's suggested doing a bunch of summersaults. We are having a summersault race later tonite.

I'm gonna be like Skid, I'm gonna pass out. LOL!!

Or puke!

Well Bird those are the two things I saw on the internet, and I DID NOT try them. I asked my Doctor about them and she highly recommended NOT. LOL!!

I have been doing the suction thing since last night. No luck.

I was thinking of the drops too. I actually had a bottle in the med cabinet, but it was expired.

The Doctor said. Not to put anything in the ear.

Happy Easter to you. Are you going away for a holiday?

Well, then...

THIS is the exact reason 'I' should NEVER read those websites that describe symptoms and illnesses!

I suppose I would make a good guinea pig though...
*sure I'll give it a try...it won't hurt will it?...Oh well let's try* LOL
