I learned a little, but could never play a whole song. LOL Actually, that's how my Husband and I fell in love. We knew each other from work and were friends and I was dating some guy for a while. Mark always wanted to date me and I never knew at that time. When I broke up with that guy, Mark didn't know right away. We got to talking a lot about music and I asked him if he would teach me how to play. He found out about the break up and was so shy and nervous around me, but finally asked me out. LOL

We both had a passion for music and he was blown away at how much I knew about so many bands, who played which instrument, what bands members were in before the famous bands they ended up with, background info on band members, who wrote which songs etc. I knew more than he did about some bands. He was self taught and could often improve on a bands song. Always blew people's minds!

That's a beautiful love story.

You have something between the two of you that no-one or anything can take away. No matter what happens tomorrow, you will always have that forever.

Love is strange. Sometimes we are just ships passing in the night. Sometimes it is a lifetime of wonder. And sometimes it is memories of old.

We all have one true love. That will be with us forever. No matter where are travels in life take us.

Peace be with us all.

HAIL THE ARTIFICIAL PRE-LITE TREE!!!!!

Was getting alittle weepy there.

LOL, actually it's been more like a roller coaster ride! Lately he has been so good though. Today he gave me some money so I can pick out something nice for Christmas.

Lately if I fall asleep on the couch and wake up when it's still dark, I see my tree all lit up and blinking and it just so magical. Makes me smile.

Hey, the last we heard from True, wasn't he going out drinking with friends? Think he's still there?

Night The decoration you made sounds beautiful. It has to be hard for you, your poor heart must be longing to just hold a hand or hear a voice. To me knowing that I will never in this life be with a loved one again and not be able to share or say the things I should have said is terribly hard. I take absolutely no consolation in the notion that we may meet in the "after world"
The greatest lesson I learned from all the loss in my life is to never miss an opportunity to be kind, fess up to my mistakes and say "I Love you".

Such a romantic tale, so you both play?
My SO (significant other) is a guitar player too, acoustic, and we have performed a little at open mik's, I would sing. I used to love singing. We have both tired of the bar scene but it was fun.

I often feel like this...

I miss her hugs and kisses and laughter and thoughtfulness and talking to her. I take comfort in knowing she is with my Dad. I have never ever in my life seen a love like theirs. I take comfort in knowing that we always said I love you and gave hugs and kisses and knew we loved and appreciated each other. I take comfort in knowing that she had such a very long and happy life and was able to live on her own with a little help here and there. I was blessed and grateful to have her as a Mom. I still cry almost every day and have my moments.

You're so right, never miss an opportunity to be kind, fess up to our mistakes and say, "I love you."

No, Mark and I don't both play. He is the musician. Years ago I learned parts of a few songs, never an entire song and I just couldn't do it. I sucked! LOL I think it's awesome that you and your SO would perform at open mike's together! I used to enjoy singing and used to get together with friends to sing, but now I suck at that too. LOL

LOL - Nooooooooooooooooo!

That was a cigar box guitar. Not in ANY way shape or form a "girlie" instrument!!! ROFL (Quite the reverse!)
it's basically a home-made, DIY style of guitar, originally made by people who couldn't afford or didn't have access to a "proper" instrument. Typically of rough'n'ready construction, they were used mainly in "Jug" or "Front-Porch" bands and were responsible for contributing to that classic "Blues-Vibe" that permeates the sound of the Blues through to this day.

PS - LISTEN.
LISTEN to the music on the video that I linked, (Don't be put off by her "Girly" look!!)

Yea, smoking is a hard thing to quit. Not only are you addicted to the chemicals, It's a physical addiction. When I am having my tea, or on the phone. First thing I go for is a smoke.

I have cut back alot, but I am still spending my hard earned money on the damn things. I was thinking about hypnosis.

Hey everyone!!

crappie...Thanks hunny! I'm a big fan of Chamomile tea, have it nearly every evening!

I'm actually on a prescription sleeping pill, and I've tried EVERY natural sleep aid available. I'm very stressed out, and can't turn my brain off.
It hasn't helped that lately my mother-in-law (89, Portuguese, bad dementia) is calling in the middle of the night...waking us up...yelling at her son for 'not being home'!!
He gets super stressed and then I do too. Can't always get back to sleep after.

But...it is what it is.

Anyways...is everybody feeingl festive? We don't have any snow...which is weird...so it doesn't feel Christmassy yet!

Hi [[[Jacy]]]

I am as Chrismassy as a Robin, made of snow, in a santa hat, wearing a rudolf sweater, drinking egg-nog, whilst wrapping pressies and arguing with the family!

Too Mild for snow here just now though

On a positive note.... I do have a nice glass of red wine!

Kat, awesome pics!!!

Kat and Syx and whoever else smokes, you must roll your own!!!!! I hardly pay anything now for my smokes.

Gordi, if you have wine or any alcoholic beverages, you must share!!! I know I'm being bossy today! LOL

OH...Syx, you mentioned pain and burning in your spine. Do you have any nerve damage? I have nerve damage in one of my legs. Usually it's just numb and annoying, but I'm so used to it, I don't even take my pill for that, BUT...when I get that deep pain and burning like someone stuck me with a branding iron and numbness, then I take Gabapentin. Works like a charm!

Jacy. being so stressed out all the time, you should ask for an anxiety med. I was on a mild dosage for quite some time but it just wasn't cutting it after a while so I recently got an increased dosage. I also take melatonin a natural thing, but it does help me get to sleep usually.

I'm with Jacy on this one and want to see pics!

And to all my other lovely sheddites...
