It seems to me that some posters here either don't fully understand what they were watching and the implications of it in wider society, or they they
are incapable of responding to what they witness in the video with appropriate understanding.
Two crimes occurred in that video, one committed by the suspect, and the more grievous crime committed by the police. Not by any stretch of the
imagination did the police act professionally and with due respect to their badge...they were just thugs. Society demands that police do not act as
judge and executioner. What part of that concept do some of you posters not understand? Are you really that immature?
One or two of you are very mouthy about the suspect, and that he deserved what he got, others rationalise the beating as an acceptable part of police
work, after all there's a 'what if' scenario to think about and be aware of, so just in case of 'what if'...beat the # out of him, just to be
safe.
The video depicts nothing but brutality, and regardless of whatever uniform is being worn, it doesn't entitle the wearer to dish out pre-emptive
punishment. Police are supposed to only defend themselves. Going off some of the comments here, some of you actually enjoy watching videos like this,
its a delightful frisson to you to seeing someone get a severe beating, just as long as it is not you. Then again, that's the implication for wider
society, because this sort of thuggery unchecked and not challenged in court, could mean that one day it may well be you, or a member of your
family?
If I was American, which fortunately I am not, I would be ashamed by those cops, but it is enough that I am human, and I am shamed to live on the #ing
planet with people like those cops, and some of the idiots here that pass for posters. Get your heads out your asses and grow up!
