So I cannot for the life of me find this movie!

The main character is gene or genesis woo. I THINK the movie is korean and its about these cops looking for this worlds greatest thief who said he would reappear for another hiest. The main character is this fool/clutz who gets in the way of the investigation comedically only to later be revealed as the mastermind behind the robberies.

Originally I thought the movie was called "catch" but it could of been a poor translation from the site I watched it on. Googling so far produces only previous posts of mine looking for the movie haha. Stupid filters.

P.s korean movies are epic and usually quite original.... if you dkdont mind subtitles.

Couple movies I recommend:

Going by the book

Castaway on the moon

Attack the gas station

See you after school ( first kmovie I saw)

Sex is zero (american pie ish)

Secretly, greatly (comedy/spy) the main character of this reminded me of the movie I am searching for, very much the same vibe.

I think the title of the movie is

쭉 가세요! 그 다음에 왼/오른 쪽으로 좀 가세요.

Just kidding I think that means "go straight then turn left".

Sorry that I do not know the movie you mentioned however I thought this might be a good time to mention a movie that I really enjoyed (actually surprised):

"My Sassy Girl". Released in 2001

It is subtitled in English and I enjoyed the twists in the plot….

My 2 cents worth (adjusted for inflation = I still owe ten more opinions to break even….)

Was excited for a second but sadly it wasnt it again. Thanks though, I do really appreciate all the suggestions.

I just dont understand how a movie can be so hard to find, its mind boggling!

I have always pondered wether it wasnt korean but I do strictly remember the culture mannerisms in the acting.

The movie wwas roughly around 2000-2010 same time frame in the script. I remember watching "see you after school" around the same time.

The main character ends up being the theif but throughout the movie acts like fool/dunce/slightly mentally disabled guy and truly does a great job.

Only that one dude as a theif it wasnt a group.

Known as the worlds greatest thief.

Main reason I remember its korean is the speech pattern and 3 part names. Genesis was split up into gene wu or park jyn wu or something along those lines.

And I love these kind of threads as well.... except when I have to create them! Haha.

I look forward to your help

Honestly everything I said so far is the bulk of my memory of the film.

At the end of the film the main character grabs a blazer throws it over his shoulder with one hand straightens up and walks to a red convertible, then hops in and smiles at the camera before he drives off.

If you see how the main character acts like a fool/slow in the head in secretly greatly thats exactly how the main character acts In this movie. Though you are led to believe he is slow until the very end.

The detective has only one picture of him and he is referred to as the worlds greatest thief.

Its **fairly modern** and I remember the 3 part korean name style hence why I believe its korean.

I watched it on an anime/asian drama site and remember the movie was removed probably within the year it was uploaded on the site.

I am not completely sure of this next part since it was so long ago but I think he was jn a different part of the picture compared to the main guy they took a picture of with a hat but the detectives focused on him.

Eta: **Fairly modern as in 2000-2010 korea for the time frame that includes story setting and when the movie was released. I just am shocked it is nowhere to be found, maybe it was north korean and not south korean? Anyone know of good sites of north korean movie listings?
