Why is it you believe your hatred for any and all cops is noble?

Did I say it was "noble"? Did I ascribe any merit to criticizing cops?

No.

If I stated that I hated all white people or all black people I would rightfully be labeled a racist...

So how is hating all cops any different?

Just can't help yourself, can you? Now I'm the equivalent of a racist. People choose to be cops. No one chooses to be white or black. That is the difference.

And who said I "hated" cops? That's how I'm labeled by others, but I've never said that nor do I feel that way. If anything, I actually pity cops... when I'm not scared of them.

Shall we continue playing word association games at my expense?

Is the purpose of the Pizza to feed people rubbish food to encourage poor dietary habits? is this initiative just the police making subtle contribution to the depopulation agenda?

I'm sure they would have considered a voucher for fruit and veggies.

You seemed pretty proud about it right here..

Sorry, I got my threads crossed. I relinquish said title.

Or maybe we can start a CLUB!

Now I'm the equivalent of a racist

Are you racist? No, didn't say that.
However hating all members of a certain group regardless of who they are as individuals is very similar to the mindset of true racists. I made the comparison to show how ignorant a mindset it is!

Shall we continue playing word association games at my expense?

That's up to you.

But in the past, he beat his mother, my stepmother up something fierce, often! Broke her wrist even! He pushed his pregnant 15yr old girlfriend down the stairs, not trying to kill the baby, but was just ticked at her. When the baby was born and they split up, he kidnapped the baby...

Not to be "that guy" but the people they are handing out the pizza too...PAID for the pizza

AND what if you have a dairy or gluten allergy?

Actually the restaurant donated the gift cards to the program.

I was going to comment about how long it would take for both that comment and the "it's just PR cops suck and they hate us all" comments to start, but I see I'm already late

That's actually very nice of the restaurant. It's good PR for them as well. It helps to get their name out into the community and will hopefully bring more business to them. Very smart move actually.

Yea, but that's not nearly as fun as assuming citizens paid for the gift cards through taxes so one can toss that snide remark in the discussion, even though it's incorrect and unwarranted.

And no, that's not directed at you. Completely agree with you

He's already started, and I'm betting since most of his crimes were done during juvenile years, it's sealed. (Truthfully, I don't think he was EVER arrested, cops always just brought him home when he took off, he'd just stomp around and go upstairs. My stepmom babied him! Guess who slept in the master bedroom. 3 guesses, and the first 2 don't count! When he wore his brand new Air Jordans to the basketball park and they were stolen, awww, her poor wittle ole baby couldn't do without, she had to immediately run to the store and buy him another pair! It just wasn't right what happened to him! It wasn't fair! And he still beat the crud out of her. Any new video game, she rushed right to the store to buy it for him. She was his friend, not his mom. I'm sorry to say, I stopped listening to her complain about getting beaten when she was treating him like gold and he was being a creep and she kept up the routine.

Well I am more guilty of NOT reading the link than anything. It's not a Cop bashing on my part, I would like to point out, that they wouldn't need to do such things if they didn't need to recover some face. Either way, you are right I am guilty of not reading the link.

And I would like to point out that not every department needs to do things like this, yet still does them. Why? Because they're engaged in the community and do things to foster a relationship with the citizens.

Is Farmington one of them? No idea, I don't live there. But not every department that does something like this, or shop with a cop, or any other program, does it because they "have to."

I agree with you in that regard, you see you are lumping me into a group that I do not belong to. I am however very libertarian leaning and as a result I do not see the value in any of this sort of thing, in fact I see it as inhibiting my personal liberty.

Now, could the police and citizenry use a campaign that illicit a better level of appreciation than what is presently occurring? Absolutely. I think foot beat cops in communities as in the old days might be a better vehicle for what they are trying to achieve. Stopping people in their very busy world today in this manner just wont reach alot of us to busy to see the gesture in the right light.

Sorry you cant enjoin other peoples opinions as valid. I am no cop hater, but I am also no fan of many instances of what has the appearance of bullying and worse I have seen lately. Is it indicative of all cops?...no

I have no idea how I'm lumping you with anybody, nor did I ever say you're a cop hater.

Threads like this elicit two kinds of comments: ones about who paid for it, and others about how cops suck and should leave people alone. You made the first kind of comment, without even having read the story. I made an observation about it, and that observation included other comments that had come after yours. That's why there was a space between the correction of your comment and the rest of my observation.

You made a point. I made a counter point. That's how discourse works.
