Don't you think that before coming to ATS I investigated all possible explanations.?

I'm telling you there has been two distinct KNOCKS on my door in the past week, and you're dismissing what I am telling you, as if you are the one experiencing it.

And then you give some really WEAK explanations as to what it could be , then hint that I'm so stupid I don't know what a knock is, 2 feet from my head?

Just open the door when "it" knocks or leave the door open so you can see when the noise starts.

i can only go from what ive heard whilst totally awake, i ran to the door as knocking was odd, too polite lol.
quite dark hallway, bedroom doors closed, no creaking floorboards, open gobs of those pretending to be asleep

ive no idea. stumped .

ghosts paranormal no idea, imagination, mental disorder, or what ever, could be, not ruling that out though not sure if possible under the circumstances. like i say i wont rule anything out

Sounds resonate, man. Also, doors creak and make other sounds sometimes. Are you standing directly in front of it when the "knocking" happens? Or do you hear it and look up? I didn't jump to the insinuation that you're hearing things that aren't there - you shouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's something paranormal. Because there's no such thing as ghosts.

I've ruled OUT all possible explanations.

I've told you repeatedly what it is. I'm not going to get into this game with you.

And you saying something like "there is no such thing as ghosts" let's me know you've made up your mind. So why even discuss this with you?

I'm not convinced it's a 'ghost' yet, but I don't know what is going on, which is why I AM HERE.

i can only give what i know, a knock on a door is a knock on a door, i won a competition on the radio for sound based game, got it right every time they changed the sound, won 700 quid after splitting the winings with the crew in the office even though i guessed the sound being played. anyway i digress, the door knocking was as real as you reading this message.

you know what, it was a long time ago, as ive said i can prove jack ship so makes me seem a little daft to be fair
i just dont discredit others who experience weird ship, even though there will be and probably is a rational unknown reason involved

No game intended, man. I'm trying to help you is all. Again, I'm not stating you've gone mad. I'm not claiming you're not hearing this knocking sound that appears to be coming from the door. I'm just offering suggestions about what you might be hearing.

You need to walk around the house, particularly the dark areas like closets, when alone at night when this activity usually starts and tell the entities to show themselves cause you want to have it out with them, and that your not afraid and gonna kick their wussy asses because their on your turf uninvited and that its fight or flight time for them.

If they don't show it means they have backed down and they will leave.

Yet none of the suggestions add up. I have zero explanations. I'd like to think I'm a fairly intelligent person. I know what a KNOCK is, on a door, 2 feet away from my head.

And I have been here a year and this just started happening. There are no pipes, no house settling, nothing. THey are distinct knocks...as if a human KNUCKLE hit the door.

Seriously though, it's likely nothing. My refrigerator makes a knocking sound that would freak anyone out and it kind of resonates through the walls as well. Could be pipes in the walls, an electrical issue(worth investigating), rodent problem or something inside the door that's doing it. Doors can be hollow. Try taking it off and checking it out.

These are distinct KNOCKS to my door. What part of that did you miss?

Same thing use to happen to me all the time. Loud banging on the door. I ran out of the room pissed off but no one was in the house but me.............! Loud Humming noises in my head at night. Sinking down in my water bed into the wet water then waking completely dry. Sleep Paralysis. Used to be a depressed metal guitarist.

I was haunting myself by doing out of body work in the future. Came to my old house in the past and it was I that was banging on my own door! At least that is one of my theories. Playing a guitar vibrates frequencies that attract forces from the other side perhaps. It is also a form of meditation. The paralysis and vibrations were simply me separating from my body. I just couldn't put it together at the time.

It no longer happens now that I know what it is. The energy of being scared is gone.

yeah not being funny dude,but look for reason, you cant expect people to take your word as proof of anything beyond your own personal experience unless backed up with additional people being able to provide evidence on a level that can give assurance that what you are saying is true.

New suggestion. Do you have a cam that could show us the door and surrounding area? Maybe replicate the sound?
Dunno what it might do to help, but ya never know. Obviously take precautions to remain anonymous in your vid.

If this continues I might. But it's not replicable. I spent an hour trying to replicate it. Down to drinking from my water bottle to see if the bottle reshaping after squeezing is the sound. Nothing.

The other night was the first knock and it was in the middle of the night when I was lying in bed smoking. I came out because I thought someone was in the hallway. Only to find the cat in down the hallway staring and hiding under a couch with his eyes so big he looked spooked. He wouldn't even meow at me when I talked to him (something he never does)

Then when I tried to get near him he wouldn't move and just kept staring in the hallway.

I'm a skeptic by nature with a lot of things. I try and work out the reasons. This so far has none.

That's cool. It's wise to wait and see if it continues anyway as it happening twice doesn't really call for action in my book. I will say just the fact of having a cat nearby certainly adds him to your list of suspects. I have two cats and one in particular is known for the humorous antics of just freaking out for no reason whatsoever. They make lots of noises.

No, the cat was 30 feet away, under a couch when I came out, and he was scared. He doesn't have the ability to knock on a door 6 feet up, at the top of my door, where the sound distinctly came from

I've thought of all this.

My cat can move 60 feet in 2 seconds easily if she gets that way. It's really quite amazing as she's 14 years old and normally moves like it. I guess what I'm saying is Never Underestimate Cats.
But, I'll move on and wish you best of luck in your detective work. I only dropped in here originally to add a voice of reason to the "less than realistic" responses I was seeing in the posts before and dreaded the thought that another sensible person might get sucked into the land of make believe without a counterpoint.

No, I'm practically on the Atheist side of Agnostic. I was a Christian at one point and wanted to teach Biblical Studies, but that was a lifetime ago. I've never messed with any Occult stuff.

well leaky pipes, rats and cats aside, I am of the opinion that these entities have to be invited by lifestyle choices.
If you are really concerned then I for one would be thinking and managing what I'm doing or even who I am seeing.

Possibly a time to reflect on what you are doing with your life.

There is occult now in just about everything.
