please understand the Christian bible is broken up into two different books
The Old Testament, its a book for the Jews, its their laws and histories, its not pretty and its not meant to be. Its self deprecating and violent
The Old testament starts at Genesis and ends at Malachi.....
Deuteronomy is included in the OLD TESTAMENT
Its the Jewish book, its not the Christian teachings of Christ and doesnt contain Christian teachings. Jesus taught something else, thats why He was executed.

If you want to quote anti christian stuff, start from the Gospels to revelations, thats the christian part of the bible


Otherwise you could end up looking like a fast food mascot in front of millions.

Like I said, it's the fact that it's advertised on the side of busses as part of a major city's transit system. It's bad enough kids are exposed to bigotry from other kids and maybe sometimes from family, but now they're getting it from their transportation system on the way to school too.

Philly is a city like any other city.. Their are some nice parts, some bad parts then you have North and West Philly.

I work next to City Hall.. Last week their was a guy screaming "Im proud to be black, I wouldn't want to be a white devil. blah blah blah" Factor that in with the 6000000000 homeless people you find on every corner .

Overall not horrible but not great.

I work near City Hall also, a block away as a matter of fact. I've worked in Center City for 30+ years, lived in CC for three years in the late 80's. For as much as I bitch about all the bad things, it does have it's good points. Like you said, not horrible but not great. I get lots of exercise dodging all the homeless on each corner and the concourse.

Wow, glad your a theology expert. Times sure must've changed since I became a lapsed Catholic many years ago. When I used to attend mass, a reading from the Old Testament, as well as the Gospel of Jesus, was part of the Catholic rite of mass. It came from the King James Bible. I guess they don't use that anymore from what you say. It's gonna be a silly scene with me looking like a fast food mascot and you looking like a complete jackass in front of millions. No, they still have a reading from the Old Testament at Mass.

I don't know that I have ever heard one at Mass that is one of the 'hate and kill' verses from Leviticus and such though. They tend to be about prophets speaking of the coming messiah and God's promise to his people.

This is why we have laws in the UK banning hate speech, incitement and bigotry like this. And it's why Transport For London makes very clear demands on any and all advertising appearing on the network. We would not have allowed this to happen, because it's clearly incitement to hatred and perpetuation of ignorance.

Eventually the US will have to develop some form of restriction on the notion of complete freedom of opinion and speech, it's inevitable. You have it already without saying it's so - A "Christian" preacher in NY is permitted to put up an illegal sign calling for the stoning of LGBT people and nothing happens, not even a knock at the door from the local PD, but if a MUSLIM said that about Christians, they would probably disappear into a black site for a month for "enhanced interrogation".

Remember, this is a country where a Christian recently submitted a bill in California openly calling for the execution of all LGBT people, and it has to be read out. If that man were a Muslim calling for the execution of Jews in a bill, does anyone here seriously think he would have been able to get away with that.

American society is so hypocritical on this issue, just as it's so hypocritical on so many others.
