Afew questions here.

Apparently they were not really "asked", but asked "if".

From what I'm getting from the blog, this couples Pizza place was randomly approached and asked. Are we sure this couple didn't ask to be interviewed? Me thinks this is an effort to get attention to their business.

An onslaught of hate calls and website hack attacks has forced the pizza place to close temporarily.

Aside from hate calls (which they can deal with if this is the case) how do you know their website was really hacked? Again I'm feeling this is an attention ploy.

Wild Thing Freedom of Speech is

There's a big difference between having the right to say something, and having the right to refuse service to somebody merely based on the color of their skin, their religion or sexual orientation. Big difference. You're not merely upholding freedom of speech when you cross this line.

Businesses should have the right to serve only who they want to.

I disagree, they shouldn't have the right. When you open your business to the public domain, you should be bound to service all in the public, whether they be gay, black or jewish or whatever else. Now when it comes to the right of serving intoxicated peoples or peoples with anger management, unpleasant people, this is a different case. We're talking about attitudes here in this case.

That's one thing to refuse service to disruptive customers but to discriminate against someone for their sexual orientation is wrong. That has no effect on you personally, or your business. Unless they engage in lewd acts inside the business. Besides, who walks into a place that doesn't serve homosexuals and announces that they are in fact gay. You wouldn't know unless they told you or engaged in public acts of affection. This whole discrimination because of your bigoted religion is a bunch of BS. I'm not religious because I value logic and reason over a fairytale book written by people who believed in an invisible sky daddy. Man, I hate religion...

Yes you can, just not based on who they are as a person.

And it seems this story is about the media blowing this up, confused on why that is the peoples fault?

Did that work out when the first civil rights act had to be passed?

When the majority shares the views, it doesn't work out.

It's up to $46,130 now.

Looking through some of the messages posted with donations, I have seen a few like this...

$25

I disagree with the owner's decision to refuse to supply theoretical wedding pizza to a hypothetical gay couple. That said, I don't want the country to be governed by TwitterMobs and their Two Minute Hates.

I think most people who agree that people should be able to service who they please feel that this sort of thing is a slippery slope. I see many here and there that don't think people should turn gays (or anyone else) away, but they want to maintain control of their own business as much as they can and feel that if the government gets a foot in their door, they'll never be able to get them out again.

I'm assuming that at any rate as I don't own my own business. Certainly there are those hateful, bigoted, sad sacks of humanity that would discriminate against anyone who didn't look or act like their own father but I don't think they are anywhere near the majority. Maybe I'm naive. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking...

So explain to me how the minority wins if the majority doesn't accept it first? Civil Rights would not have come about if the majority did not accept it as a norm for it to happen....

No, I personally think your right, most people just want to have a busy business with as much customers as possible.

If you ever get poor service (or no service at all for that matter) due to discrimination, then just complain and mention how easy it would be to give them a bad review over the internet, lose them hundreds of customers in the long run. Guarantee 9 time out of 10 your getting an apology and they'll step up there game.

Yeah like that will work in small towns especially those bigoted towns and the Bible belts.

So having their webpage hacked and getting bad reviews online at Yelp.com means they had to close up shop and couldn't make pizza's??? Ya, because that makes sense!?!?!?

What a bunch a fake ass crybabies!!! "Oh no, our webpage is down so we can't cook now?!?!?" I didn't realize you had to be online to make a damn pizza.

This is the most staged BS scam ever. Chalk up another point for Good Christian Integrity. I hope they enjoy their new beggar money because it will have to last them until they find a new career.

I didn't realize they had already closed up because of all this, but I was going to see if I could order/buy a pizza online and have them give it to one of the protesters.

With anchovies underneath the cheese.

Or maybe they shouldnt be d*cks.
Because Im pretty sure they wouldnt be cool with it if someone was like, get out of my store, I dont deal with Christian scum.

And maybe some of you think segregation and institutionalized oppression is ok, but its not.

And, the hypocritical irony of playing the victim...where do you find that kind of delusional audacity?

Sure, the lgbt lobby and supporters often go too far with the pc bs. But these guys are basically bringing back jim crow in indiana. If you dont find that disturbing you need to check your morality because you dont have any.

Civil rights came about from the minority being tired of getting treated unfairly.

Are you saying it came about from the majority realizing what they were doing was wrong just all of the sudden?
Was the elimination of segregation considered the norm when the civil rights movement came around?

The minority wins when they are treated the same as the majority.

I dig what your saying. You think I've never faced discrimination before, just for refusing to be one of them?

But let's face it, if your not considered 'one of them', then a small town is going to be brutal to you no matter what laws are in place. Oh, and that old american bible belt, I can just imagine, it would just be horrible for a white boy hoodie wearing slash hippy like me, lol.

Though, don't really understand how more laws would make you feel more welcome. At the end of the day it's a big country, with many different cultures, why not just move?

True you would feel out of place. But why would you have to move? What if you can't? What about your kids?

I myself have faced discrimination for being a deaf person.

That is why we have the equality law.
