This happened in St Joseph / Benton Harbor MI right across the street from where I work. I don't know the city because the line changes somewhere in the area. The house is a new build about 7-8 years old probably about $400k so a low range price for a home a block from Lake Michigan. I never really heard any more than was in the paper.

Sorry I took so long on the reply. Been a little while since I was last on ATS. Open carry alarms me because of the people who generally practice it. Most of the open carry guys I have ever met have used it for a conversation piece. Walking into a service station brandishing a gun because you have the right is pure ignorance. I grew up with guns. They require a great deal of respect. This open carry nonsense is a way of tooting your own horn IMO. I think the law is fine, it is the people abusing it who are the problem.

Not many people have a valid reason for having to carry a gun around today's society. So when something like this happens...I can't honestly say I feel bad. Maybe it is better she shot herself before she shot some innocent person she thought was threatening.

Sure do...I even frequently roam around the scary city of Chicago.

It actually isn't that scary...just don't go looking for trouble and your fine. Common sense helps. And if you don't have common sense, a gun certainly isn't going to help you be any safer.
