That's not a matter of fortunate or unfortunate, really. In some circles seeing something you simply can't explain, even after doing all due diligence, is enough to get you strange looks at the very least. In others, is cause to discuss and even celebrate.
I has the misfortune of spending a couple of weeks in an inpatient mental health facility several years ago, for completely different reasons, and one of the other patients mentioned a sighting during group discussion. The nurse recommended extending his stay because he was 'obviously delusional'. It was a pretty mundane event, as sightings go, but the staff was convinced that what he had seen 7 or 8 years earlier and described rather dryly and sedately, was cause to believe he was completely insane and a danger to himself and the public.
Oh, it was the black triangle, from a distance, through a very slight haze at night. He had half convinced himself by that point it was a blimp, but he mentioned that he wasn't sure, and had read about other similar things. Yeah, obviously off his rocker, right?

I have been interested in the UFO subject only since 1995. Prior to that I did not believe in them.

Yet I had a clear UFO sighting from a first floor window of my parents' house in the mid 1980's. So it surprises me that it took me so long to take an interest. I suppose as a teenager I did not understand the meaning or importance of what I saw. It didn't fit into the classic ufo imagery either.

Early one afternoon, when I was about sixteen, I was standing at the top of the stairs looking out. There was a clear view of the sky above the roof of the house next door.

To my surprise I saw a number of shiny silver balls moving quickly from east to west. They were completely featureless and it was impossible to tell how large or far away they were. Except that they were well below the clouds.

The only analogy I can make was that they resembled perfectly spherical balloons blowing quickly in the wind. Except that they had no surface detail whatsoever. Their movement was rapid and their altitude did not vary. There were dozens of them. A few seconds later another large batch of them passed by following exactly the same path. It was surreal.

I would say that they moved under their own power and not in a way that would be caused by the wind. My mother also saw them. We quickly forgot about them and I thought no more of it.

It wasn't until I read Timothy Good's book around 1995 "Above Top Secret" when it dawned on me, this phenomena is real. I have since read all his books.

Hi Pfishy, hers's the stuff

1992 Two white orbs Watched them with a friend for about five minutes as they sort of played tag

1994 Many orbs outside Sheffield at Longdendale but quite far away on a hill side

1997 Disc landed in a field, door/steps down

1998 Fleet of rhombus shaped metallic ships each the size of a doub;le decker bus on its side, one fillowing the other in a snake like formation but each sort of swinging pendulam like as they moved left/right but forward

2006 Loads of orbs, initially two amber orange types we coaxed down took twenty minutes, once close they started morphing into other shapes (really weird), then a noise like sparklersbehind us and it was anl angle grinder white type that morphed into a holier than holy light two feet from us, then surrounded above by maybe 20 same coloured varied pairs of orbs, red with laser beam scanner, then radiant white massive mothership buzzed us overhead four times, then it zoomed off and left a weird candy floss like substance raining gently down

Went back five days later with a different friend and managed to film some orbs near to the main sighting prevoius, 29 mins then a single long distance shot and two minute shot that was quite close but we were knackered by then and left them to it (5am in the morning lol)

Wow. Definitely a lot more than I have ever seen. Were these sightings all in the same general area?

Hi Pfishy, sort of..They were all around the Pennines, Yorkshire and Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Seen various other stuff too, a disc hovering for a minute or so about 24 foot above the ground, also a green type ufo orb flying in straight path as I was looking out the window of a pub - first pint lol. The sightings do largely occur on recognised energy/ley lines.

Aha! And there you are. English leylines are pretty well know. I have no idea under the stars where they might be around my locale.

I've seen several, I've been 'abducted'. I'm a contactee. I have a lot to say, but of course no one listens.

No more Mr nice mule.

If I wasn't willing to listen, I wouldn't have asked.
See, my friend, while I consider myself a logical and rational person, neither logic nor rational thinking could lead anyone to believe we are alone in this vast cosmos. And while I do think some abduction stories are complete malarkey, I do not believe that it hasn't happened.

You've seen them. Deep down, you already grok. You don't need to be told anything, except maybe one thing. You're special.

Enough with the 'special' topic. Different thread...
And the purpose of the other one was not even to argue that point.

Back in 1997 when I was camping with my wife and kids we saw something I have never seen before or after, although now maybe drones can move like it, but at 3 am just as we were getting ready to crawl into our tent both the wife and I suddenly stopped for unknown reasons and both of us looked up and in one direction to see this light come flying in from one direction, do an oval like loop and head off back almost in the same direction, but up as well as it disappeared from sight, so I am guessing it also was going away from earth.

I have never seen anything that moves like that in the nights sky before. It was way high up, almost looked like it was sliding across the sky, just the way it moved I compare to a rock sliding across ice....real smooth, faster than any satellite I have ever seen and the amount of fluid movement when it did it's loop like turn in the other direction and shot off/up tells me it was not normal whatever it was. I don't think a human could survive those types of movements if it was in the atmosphere, the g forces would kill them. Drone maybe, but it was way up in the sky whatever it was.

Still to this day I have not seen anything like it other than a UFO vid I saw once that showed almost the exact same thing, but I never really looked around to try to find it, I just remember seeing it on a tv show called sightings long ago.

I can't explain what I saw. It was just a light in the sky, but the movement is what was so unusual...
I wish I could describe it better than sliding on ice, but just the gliding like movement was very strange, different than anything else I have seen flying in the sky before.

Anyways, that is the only UFO I have ever seen.
The strangeness of us both turning and looking at where it was going to come from right before it did, I find totally weird.
I've experienced a lot of weird stuff, but being synchronized like that (because that is what it felt like)
was totally weird. Almost like we were meant to see it....

Well, good. Wouldn't want it to rupture. But if you would like to share an experience or two with me, you are always welcome to U2U me. I really would be interested in hearing them.

Definitely an interesting experience. I'm assuming the loop was horizontal, due to the change in direction, correct?
Also, I've heard so strange stories about the maneuverability of the B-2 Spirit bomber. I have a friend who worked at the Lockheed Skunkworks and a couple of other aviation facilities in the past. He told me he's seen a B-2 do a turn with such a small radius that anything else would have likely fallen out of the sky, and it was almost under 10k feet when it did it.

The only thing that stops me from accepting a military aircraft of some kind is the weirdness with it, otherwise it could very well be.

The other weird thing about it is,
I remember my son being asleep,
but he says he remembers seeing it as well,
and that's many years later when I brought it up and he told me that he remembered it, described it even, and as far as I can remember, we never said anything to him about it. Even if we did, he was just barely 5 years old,
that is one good memory...lol

But the most rational explanation to me is military aircraft of some kind.
Dunno what they would be doing flying above Northern Minnesota though.

The loop is hard to explain. It looked like a satellite until it turned. It came in from one direction, we'll say southeast, almost like it was skimming the atmosphere, looped in an oval shape and then the end of the loop was headed southwest faster and fainter but looked almost slower because I think it was headed out/up.

Well, if you're going to fly something that you don't want a lot of people to notice, and perform maneuvers you supposedly can't do, then you probably don't want to fly it over Pittsburgh or Seattle. And definitely not in the portion of the day when you have most people awake to potentially notice it.

Thanks for linking to that. Very interesting experience. I'm not an incredibly spiritual person, so I believe we'd differ on our definitions of the Astral plane, but I certainly believe in higher states of consciousness. Just maybe not with the implications of a soul, persay.
Though, I didn't see where anyone was bashing or insulting you on that thread. Was it in the deleted posts?
Personally, I would be more inclined to believe an extraterrestrial explanation for what you experienced than a spiritual one, so the idea of that being Contact fits right in.

That could very well be.

I'm open to it being man made.

In the long run it was just one of those experiences that makes you wonder, knowing you will never know for certain.
