By simply referring to "the powers that be" or "the elite" "bankers"..... is that us, as average citizens, kneeling down before our rulers? "the powers that be?" We're all equal right? No?

Conversation example

X > How can you say voting doesn't matter? If you don't vote, don't complain.
Y > Dude, the powers that be control it all.

Does acknowledging such a group of masters of control and deception actually make it be? Come to fruition? Does it make most of us think, "well #, there aint nothin we can do now, just keep our head down and keep working hard (for our masters). I don't care as long as I get to get drunk and act like nothing matters with my friends." A lot of words and groups of words can be tricky.

Most of us in the world are oblivious to worldly current events. And then there are people like me, realizing we're in a trap, but keeps the tail between the legs and keeps on going.

The Powers That Be, are us. We are the elite. We control. That is, we can control.

It was fun while it lasted.

If you haven't seen the movie, Swing Kids, i'd recommend it. Quick clip if anyone is interested.

I assume most know who George Carlin is, but i'll post a clip just in case no one has heard of him, or just want a refreshment of truth. (as i've seen a couple clips of him being posted here recently, actually regularly, as your scheduled programming lol)

I think you have it backwards.

Every time you rock up to a polling booth, and vote for a candidate that you KNOW is no more interested in the plight of honest hard working people, than the most shameless, profiteering bastard who ever managed a hedge fund, because the other person in the race is such a foul, dark soul that to allow them power would be tantamount to ushering in the apocalypse, that is kneeling.

Every time you place a pencil on a ballot that has NO party, and NO candidate on it which really represents your beliefs and political stance, that is kneeling. Every time you let yourself be drawn into the left and right paradigm, every time you accept the system as it is, for what it is, and choose not to protest about it at every possible opportunity, and remind people that for decades, control over governments and policies thereof has become ever more influenced by corporations rather than public opinion, that is kneeling.

Accepting the lie, that being asked to place a vote for the lesser of a collection of, or God help us, just two evils, is a valid method of executing a democracy, that is kneeling down.

Referring to those outside of government, a succession of whom have held some significant sway over world affairs over the course of decades, is REALISTIC. It is not acceptance, it is awareness, and there is a crucial difference between the two.

I believe when someone refutes the voting claim by saying 'their votes don't count because TBTB control the election'

they mean...

There is another way to find a resolution without voting in a crooked system.

I don't think it means, "i roll over because they control the votes"

Spot on...

BTW - isn't it time for a refill..? That, or you have a magic glass, which makes me quite envious as I've been searching for one for quite some time now.

If we call them TJTB or TATB, would that be less submissive, while still realizing that there are string pullers in the shadows?

I don't worry about voting or TPTB. I accept our existence is a sham in every way & eagerly await our destruction.

I think I have it backwards everyday I wake up. "Awareness", yes. I see. As for the other comments,

I believe the word awareness is often used incorrectly in place of acceptance.

There really is no denying that "TPTB" exist. 78 people have more money than the bottom 3 BILLION. Certain banking families are worth 100-500 TRILLION dollars.

The system is real. Long term conditioning won, we lost.

Until there's a full global scale economic collapse &/or over half the world population is killed in a natural or nuclear disaster, *cough* fukushima *cough*, the system will not be fixed or changed.

I can understand the average person being in denial about the true state of affairs, I just can't relate to it.

Hah, Id be hard pressed to say it better myself, though, that's definitely putting it lightly.

I believe in the saying: If voting could change the system it would be against the law

It doesn't take much thought to realise it's a sham especially when you have no way to let a majority, who don't vote for any available candidate because they are all unsuitable, be given a new set of candidates from which to choose.

I'd be more than happy to start referring to TPTB as Them Bastards - I think in this day and age most people would know what I meant. Perhaps we could start 'trending' the expression on ATS?

I call them the people who own all the money and resources. I try to think up ways to piss them off daily by not buying their #.

It is like saying the sky is blue or the ocean is deep.....Or this thread is stupid. Seeing a problem is the first step in fixing it.

I think your right mate. We can certainly be TPTB ourselves if we demanded that governments act like servants and not allow them to act like rulers.

Demanding, and eventually getting, more and more referendums will make we the people, more and more powerful.

the next move is ours.

No it isn't. Its a simple expression, that deals with the current reality of a hijacked system by thugs.

I've tried using various terms, ie TPTB, the "elite", which irks me, so then I try, the wanna be elites, the world mismanagement team, the demons in training at the top, but it starts to disintegrate until I'm feeling quite choked and then you couldn't post what I would instead say! So back to, the simple, no frills, PTB, tiny shriveled up consciousness that they are.

Basically they're the tiny tots, running around in the extremely messy diapers of harming others.

There is nothing more pathetic than some tiny little shadow of itself, needing slaves.
