Ukrainian army will end up like the Georgian army in `08, and after that the ultra-nationalist battalions can take over the Ukraine.

You actually bring up a good point here just not like I think you meant it. See Russian neo Nazis are in control of the sepratists. And we'll they aren't happy with Putin they feel he isn't hard enough. And believes he just needs to invade Ukraine. Putin is in the middle of a struggle to maintain control of the ultra nationalists in Russia. They are starting to get upset with his policies. This could easily explain Putins disappearance recently. He had to make deals with the ultra nationalists they are gaining alot of power in Russia. Here's an article where our favorite NazI strelkov actually threatens Putin.

I think we're still #1 in that regard, but Putin seems to be working really hard to take over our top spot.

And we all know what happens when the US feels threatened......Take a look into our history. I sure hope this is a planned cold war 2.0.

Former Putin advisor and current advisor to the Kremlin, Alexander Nekrassov, is calling for war with Poland and the Baltics.

Is that his actual account? The account name is @StirringTrouble, I do wonder if its not some joke account? Not really much of a twitter user but it just seems like an odd username for a politician.

No that's him in fact he trys to sell his books on his twitter feed. He thinks Poland and the Baltic states are planning to attack Russia. Like that would happen.

Speculation on what's really happening, as compared to what the mainstream news and propaganda are telling us, is indeed what ATS is about.

Reuters is MSM and you take over their speculation, how is that any different from MSM ?

Speculation doesn't mean "positing a line of thought previously not considered by anyone else." So what if the MSM has speculated such before. Are you saying 100% of mainstream media should be discarded, and the ideas put forth ruled out, outright and without consideration?

Perhaps it would be more to your liking if you were reading a thread about how an inter dimensional being, appearing as a sparkly golden hands and sickle was the true ruler of Russia, and Putin is merely a robot carrying out its will on Earth?

With The West openly admitting they are in an information war against Russia/Putin, we should believe it all of course.

So you can swallow it all as it is, or just see it for what it is, mainly a bunch of gibberish...it`s up to you if you want to know what is going or if you don`t want to know what is happening...but taking it in all as gospel won`t show you what is really going on.

Which is all why I still think there was a "stealthy soft coup" attempted, and ongoing, during the time Putin wasn't being seen in public. I also believe he emerged from that coup attempt through mostly negotiation with the hard-liners. Before his disappearance, Putin was trying to ride a perilous middle-ground with both moderates and hard-liners inside Moscow/Kremlin, including the Oligarchs. After emerging last week, Putin (or what Putin is being directed to do) is much more hard-line aggressive than he's been lately.

One thing to keep in mind when slicing out Oligarchs from Putin...Putin has been pocketing money in Russia's corrupt system for a while now. He is dangerous in that he is also KGB Born and bred...Oligarchs "Muscle" is one thing...but Putin has spent much of his life in the dark killing people to navigate the power structure AND has more money than most of the Oligarchs..if not all.

Putin's net-worth is $200 billion says Russia's once largest foreigner investor
cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com...

Is Vladimir Putin hiding a $200 billion fortune?
www.washingtonpost.com...

On a side note: the Murder of his rival a few weeks back was unapologetically Putin style...hell, he claims it is a mystery when video cameras show a government snow plow pulling up and blocking the camera view...pop..pop..pop...with different shell casings and a likely disposable, untraceable gun.

How hard is it to track down a huge, government owned, Snowplow???

He is definitely bracing for challengers ...and yes I agree that a soft coup was attempted. The question is when will the next one happen.

200 Billion? Sounds too big to fail. Maybe we should provide some quantitative easing and he'll go away.

I find this to be very interesting...

Russian ultra-nationalist Igor Strelkov has said President Vladimir Putin could be toppled "like the last tsar" if he does not fully support pro-Russia separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Especially after seeing this...

As a new ceasefire begins Tuesday between Ukraine and pro-Russia separatists in the east of the country, the Kremlin plunged the political fate of the contested regions of Donetsk and Luhansk into uncertainty. According to the left-leaning Russian daily newspaper Novaya Gazeta, which cited officials within the Kremlin, sources within the cabinet of ministers and pro-Russian insurgents, Russia has abandoned the idea of either war-torn region becoming an independent state, instead preferring that both remain autonomous regions within Ukraine.

www.ibtimes.com...

Putin may have troubles coming his way if he doesn't take care of what he got started in the East. Should be interesting in the coming times.

You do know that Novaya Gazeta is an opposition newspaper don't you? Certainly anything they have to say on Putin, the Kremlin in recent times cannot be said to be friendly to Putin. It is owned by Gorby and an oligarch. Just take a look at the main news item today: en.novayagazeta.ru...

Hardly pro Putin is it? And you take it like a ...

Huh, and how on earth do you come to those conclusions? Have you got some degree in Behavioral Psychology? Have you met Putin and got to know him?

Assuming you have no degree in psychology and you have never met him, maybe it is fair to suggest that you are talking from your a$$.

Nothing personal...Offering differing opinions is great, but you didn't actually contribute anything there aside from snark. If you disagree, explain why.

I stopped asking long ago. Seems anyone with an opinion and the ability to ask questions and pose an argument against the warmongering fascistic drivel that is spouted from ATS staff and members ..............

Still searching for legitimate questions or any proposed argument or anything relevant of the OP...

Looks like you just registered recently? For the sole purpose of trolling ATS staff? Or do you actually have something intelligent to contribute?

Can you not like, read between the lines. I ask what proof has he got to support his assertions. If he ain't got squat then he ain't got an argument.

So in order for anyone to "Speculate"...as the OP headline clearly states, they most first meet your standard of proof? Being..."Have you got some degree in Behavioral Psychology? Have you met Putin and got to know him? "

Apart from manners...you seem to be challenged by logic and the nature and definition of speculation.
