I couldn't find this anywhere else but it is some very breaking news in my opinion.

Russia Escalates Military Posture: Deploys Strategic Bombers To Crimea, Ballistic Missiles To Kaliningrad And Places Troops Near Finnish Border On combat Readiness

It really looks like things are heating up. Could Putin be crazy enough to actually use nuclear missiles if so it would be the end of the world as we know it.

is Putin totally insane?

The big news to me in this article is that Putin has announced combat troops are in full readiness on the border of Finland.

Oh I've no doubt whatsoever Putin would use nukes.

He already admitted that during the Crimea crisis he was happy to put his nukes on combat readiness.

Ahh, I love the smell of nuclear fallout in the morning.. /sigh

There is very little that can be done, at this point, to reverse the course.

All we can do is catalog the events, on paper, or some such medium.

And for those wanting to blame the republicans. Keep in mind who is ordering the military around, at this point.

We're all to blame for letting this mess we call our government, to continue.

That's crazy. Hasn't anyone mention the term Mutual Assured Destruction to him?

a reply to: Greathouse Hopefully it is just a show of force, due to the navy practice going on with NATO. I believe they always step it up a notch with the usual feather ruffling.

My question is, would Sweden come to the aid of Finland? Those two kind of have a territorial relationship like that of the US and Canada.

I'd like to say that Putin surely wouldn't be stupid enough to cross Sweden, but that man has lost all rationale. Or so it would seem...

I'm beginning to see a pattern to his use of force. He is going after non NATO Countries that are on the verge of Joining NATO.

Although if he moves on Finland I doubt NATO will hold back any longer.

May be wrong but I think I read on one of the hundred and one Putin threads recently that Finland (or is it Norway) is having a full-scale war game exercise near the border. So if they are playing that game, not surprised Russia has upped its own ante in the region.

NATO has no backbone. They'll sit back, piss and moan, then ask the US to send people. I have no faith in NATO whatsoever. That's why I would surely think that Sweden would have no choice but help defend Finland.

Russia moved on Findland prior to World War II. They seized some territory but it really didn't turn out very well for them, it caused Findland to join Germany during World War II.

But considering what's at stake today, and that Russia is far more advanced than it was in WW2, I don't see anyone sitting back and letting Finland get attacked... except NATO.

That it has been my biggest problem since the beginning of the Ukraine conflict. The European members of NATO need to start mustering their troops, we don't need to go fight a war for them again if they start showing mobilization instead of appeasement we might not have to.

maybe insane, it's like love, love makes you blind. He loves his country more then is healthy...
But also insane from the west with their actions which triggers Putin's blind love.

The first thing I thought when I saw Putin coming in power was; he will start a nuclear war.

Sigh.

Since you're new, just a piece of advice: Please do not put this in your OPs anymore when you start a thread.

If you look at it as being scary reverse the roles and Russia probably feels the same having NATO crawling all over it's borders.

I think the best solution would be to give certain countries a neutral status, much like Switzerland and have a natural buffer between each of the sides.

Okay thanks. The reason I did was because I had seen some mention of deployment of strategic missiles and anti-ship land-based missiles. If I offended you I apologize.

Russia was invited to join NATO. Then we would've been all one big happy family, they must of had other ideas. And apparently we are beginning to see what their other ideas were.

In terms of military strategy, I don't see the relationship between the conventional troops and the nukes.
Specifically, I don't see the tactical advantage in deploying ICBM launchers in Crimea.

The nukes are not a legitimate tactical weapon for capturing and holding territory. They are only for the M.A.D stalemate.

Maybe I'm missing something?

There is a lot happening at the minute, and Russia is in the thick of it,

- Putin missing for 10 days, and no reason why,
- A lot of military tech from both sides in the area
- China stepping away from the war with Ukraine
- Diplomatic talks fail between Russia and Ukraine
- The financial predicament with Russia, enforced by the west
- MSM not picking any of this up, as far as I have seen only ATS has most of the information in place

War is coming, its dangerous times for all sides.

Could someone smarter than me, connect the dots, maybe one of our Mods?

Make a big thread covering all these breaking things.
