We've been working hard to bring our beloved ATS into the social media mayhem in a manner befitting our members, and properly reflect what our members have to say on important issues. After a great deal of research, experimentation, and trial-and-error, we're starting to see some encouraging results. Most importantly, over the past 28 days, your threads have reached 1.3 million people via our Twitter feed. And we're starting to get some excellent "high-value" accounts following us.

After I thanked one-such high value account for following us (it's associated with a major sports personality), they sent this via direct message:

You're welcome. You have the most interesting Twitter feed we've seen in a long time. I'm just sorry I didn't find it sooner.

Some of our posts to the Twitter feed get immediate attention, like the new Clinton conspiracy, with 5 retweets in the first 60 seconds.

Occasionally we pull an amazing ATS Classic thread from the ATS archives, or, if a Classic thread is revived, we tweet it as an "ATS Classic," and those do very well -- like this one: Crazy Reported News That Was Quickly Dropped & Never Heard Of Again

But most importantly, we're working hard to impartially promote all the threads that get discussed/flagged here on ATS, or those with great potential evidenced by the effort of the thread author, like the Clinton money laundering conspiracy threat from today.

Now, I know a lot of you don't like social media, or would never consider using it. That's fine. But just look at today's feed to see what you're missing...

I don't use any social media but if this can be used to wake more people up great.

I just hope the trend of 'twitter' type posts used to start new threads doesn't increase.

I almost never tweet threads that begin with a minimal comment, then link or pasted source material, unless it gets really popular.

Well dont forget the massive scandal breaking in the UK.

Us brits would be very grateful to anyone if they don't let the establishment cover up the atrocity's our government has help facilitate with pedophiles.

It needs as much attention anywhere.

I personally think social media has it's merits in terms of gaining new traffic, to ignore it would be foolish.

As said earlier though given that ATS encourages lengthy well thought out debate and twitter is all about minimal sensationalism it will be a tricky marriage but then I never knew one that was easy.

I made a twitter account after this was mentioned a while back but only joined ATS so I imagine it was pointless.

But since I got my FB hacked and identity stolen Im pretty cautious of social media.

There is no reason you cannot utilise social media without comprimising your personal details.

My facebook account has nothing to do with me as a person, it's like anything else on the internet, a tool for conversing and learning.

I understand the need for Ats members to wish to keep the staus quo but without evoloution things die.

Look at friends reunited as an example? not to many years ago it was king of the hill but it became redundant.

I would rather ATS evolve than die but that's just me.

ATS is great and I tell people about it whenever I think that I meet someone who seems like the sort of person that would enjoy this board.

As long as this social media experiment can bring attention to important non media reported issues such as the pedo issue, I say go for it.

Just don't start accepting sub standard threads here because of it.

I followed @AboveTopSecret and will follow back.

Have been on Twitter about a year now.
I can see it becoming a breaking headlines style interaction for ATSers around the world.

Hhhhm I have never been on twitter but I will have a look and maybe I will join just for ATS.

never miss an opportunity to learn. be always alert otherwise it could be your downfall even if you thought you are innocent.
