I'm assuming you don't know any Transgender people, else you wouldn't be making such bigoted statements. Or perhaps you do know someone, but pass off their gender identity issues as just some "Mental Illness".

Look, I know it rocks your worldview, but sometimes having a penis is not the only thing makes a person male. Or vice-versa. Most transgender people I know have known they were wrong sex since about age 3 or 4. No amount of "therapy" or "religion" will ever make them feel comfortable in their own bodies. Imagine that you wake up one day, and you find you're suddenly in the body of a person of the opposite sex. Are you by default that sex now and forever, or would you continue to insist that you are your CORRECT sex, despite what your body looks like?

Your sex organs define your sex...lol. Nothing will ever change that.

So lets say I really feel like Im a black person trapped inside a white body, I've felt this way since I was 3 or 4. I act like a black prrson, i think like a black person, I dellude myself into believing Iam black and I even get surgery to change my skin color. That doesnt make me black does it? Exactly...its pretty much the same thing.

I was reading your first few posts, saying to myself "wait for it... waaaait for it..." and BAM, you brought out the ignorant, tired black-person-in-a-white-body analogy.

There isn't a clearly defined "black brain" or "white brain" (I'm simplifying this) but there is a huge difference in a female brain and a male brain. The brain, which happens to be the biggest sexual organ in the body (not what's between your legs), is the defining characteristic that determines gender. There's no pill that gives your brain a "sex change" so humans with gender dysphoria have to change their bodies to match their actual gender.

When you get your doctorates in gender psychology, I'll gladly read your dissertation on how your genitalia is somehow the deciding factor on gender instead of simply being an expression of development. Until you do, I'll trust people who have spent decades researching and studying it.

You said “you sex organ defines your sex.” Yes, at birth that is true.

However, not everyone agrees with the gender assignment at birth.
If you find you do not fit in the gender box you were assigned,
the question is do have the authority to form your own identity?
Or does the doctor who delivered you have the finial say?

I would argue that gender or racial identity is up to the individual.
My rule of thumb is to accept the identity that other present.
That is your “persona” and only you can define it. The authority
to do that comes from within you, from your inner most being.
Anything outside you is a false authority.

Transgender people display great courage in their refusal
to submit to ANY such false authority.

Here's a question related to the topic of gender acceptance.

Cuervo, as a person who self identifies as living with gender dysphoria (your thread on your experience was enlightening!), how do you best suggest open minded people deal with others who are so blatantly misinformed on the subject?

Education! Even encouraging somebody to just study gender, in general, will lead them to a more accurate understanding.

Personally, I just try to remind myself of how difficult it would be to relate to it if I had not grown up struggling with it. It does seem weird when you don't understand the science behind it. So when somebody is genuinely confused by it, I'm totally permissive of it and will empathize with their confusion. However, when a person just pulls out analogies that sound like they came from a five-year-old to justify their own ignorance, my patience runs out pretty quick.

Curiosity in the face of innocent ignorance is commendable. Hostility alongside the face of willful ignorance is not.

Return the favor and answer the question or are you confused?

No, I'm not confused, I'm educated. And I'm not your teacher. After reading your posts in this thread, I have no desire to educate you. If you REALLY want to know, there are a multitude of websites that will help in your in your quest for knowledge.

Here's a start: What Each of Facebook's Gender Options Mean

They should think about adding "Attention seeker" in the gender choices...

If you're on facebook, you're one of those by default.

That's the default gender for Facebook users, silly.

I do think they should add "duckface" as a gender that you can assign to other people.

Why not? Facebook likely wants to be inclusive of all identities people might feel.

But it doesnt make any sense.
I mean, seriously, its like some people got stuck to the "lets play pretend" level...

I mean, very seriously, there is only two genders, 3 if you consider hermaphrodite a gender.

I didn't see any rabbit or bunny references.

Bunch of damned bigots if you ask me.

What does make sense to me is that your profile was created on the same day as Marie Rose, and you just happen to have the same opinion, and a very similar writing pattern.

OH, so i assume you're impllying "all people who share the same opinion and who have a different opinion than mine, are all the same account"

Good job on that one

Most people with a brain can figure out how to use a different IP address; and, I would think anyone with a brain would like to study the subject and familiarize themselves with all of the ways it might wire itself to think any number of things, from feeling a different gender than the body has developed into, to being compelled to create multiple accounts on an Internet conspiracy forum. The brain is a wonderful thing.

There are two genders in the same way there are only two heights. Limiting it to male/female is like limiting it to tall/short. There are a range of heights that run between tall and short. Add in a third dimension of width into this analogy and you may better understand the robust nature of gender psychology and the depth of gender biology.

Brain, hormones, genitalia, etc. They are all contributors to a "gender". Our lizard brains want to keep it simple but it's simply not.
