Oddly the amount of likes roughly equals the number of lamb chops . Likes or lunch .

My grandfather farmed sheep, a bunch of lambs "mairrrrring" has zero effect on me.

I dont like eating lamb meat - unrelated to cuteness, bleeting or anything else, just smells awful.

Odd thought - we eat baby sheep, baby cows - wheres all the duckling wings and pigglet bacon?

Doesn't matter, the OP proves the point.. sentient beings or not?

Lamb is good. My grandfather also farmed lamb for years. Every year there was the orphan pen of bottle babies. Still eat lamb every chance I get.

We're having Moroccan Lamb Heart Stew next week.

I had lamb for dinner tonight. Ground patty smothered in grilled onions and gravy with potatoes au gratin.
They are cute, but also delicious.

It all comes down to emotions.

If you become emotional when you look an animal you won't eat it, if not then it becomes dinner.
But then again how many people look at a live animal before they eat the meat?

Not enough IMO. People need to gain a real appreciation and respect for just exactly what is lost to bring their supper to the table.

I go fishing and eat the fresh fish all the time.

oh settle down peeps. I'm no Lisa Simpson. I eat my beef rare and I love succulent juicy lamb on a rack. I know you all do too but you don't have to posture your manhood arrrgharrg yar. It's a cute funny video. Your manhood isn't at steak (sic) if you admit it. Pardon the pun

Darn tootin' it was good. I felt a little guilty about skinning those potatoes alive.
Their screams will haunt my nightmares.

I agree with Little Green Alien....
But I also agree that with you about respect and appreciation.

I often slaughter my own meats....sometimes after the hunt, sometimes farm creatures that I raise.
It is respect and appreciation of the sacrifice made that allows me to emotionally separate.

.............

I LOVE lamb....
This thread makes me hungry....but, I often see animals and think "umm, that looks tasty"

My grandmother made Lamb chop dinner every Christmas until she passed in '85. Damn that video made me hungry! Yummm! Lamb! Now to go find a store that sells it around here, and make some lamb, Yorkshire pudding, garlic mashers, garlicky green beans, mint jelly, coconut cream pie, and a chocolate cream pie! A true Brit Christmas dinner in a flash! (For the next night we always had a true Hungarian Goulash, she was Hungarian, and my Pop was Brit.)
