Anonymous has just struck a massive blow against ISIS recruiting efforts. Hacktivists recently took control of dozens of Twitter and Facebook accounts that had been openly used by ISIS to expand their influence and recruit new members.

The above video explains the attack was coordinated by “Muslims, Christians, Jews” alike. They are “hackers, crackers, Hacktivist, phishers, agents, spies, or just the guy next door… students, administrators, workers, clerks, unemployed, rich, poor.” They are also “young, or old, gay or straight… from all races, countries, religions, and ethnicity. United as one, divided by zero.” An important point made by the video is that “the terrorists that are calling themselves [the] Islamic State (ISIS) are not Muslims.” Anonymous further directs a threat to ISIS itself: We will hunt you, take down your sites, accounts, emails, and expose you… From now on, no safe place for you online… You will be treated like a virus, and we are the cure… We own the internet… We are Anonymous; we are Legion; we do not forgive, we do not forget, Expect us.

SOURCE

So it seems as if this elite hacker group is trying to strike a blow to ISIS's online activities and recruiting platforms. Hey, whatever works and cripples their online activities I guess. I fully support them too because ISIS is by far the worse of the two evils.

Yeah, me either. But Anonymous has declared Cyber warfare against ISIS and told them they have nowhere to hide online. This has been going on for the last few weeks? Or so. I can't wait until Anonymous cracks an ISIS bank account or something.

They seek them here,
They seek them there,
Anonymous seek them everywhere;
They won't send them to heaven,
They'll send them to hell,
Those damned ISIS infidels!

Go get 'em Anonymous!

Ya, big blow.

As if their recruiting depends on some FB account.

Why did no government intelligence agency track and close these accounts?

And twitter.

Social Media is how people get their word out. Take away any/all social media, and we wouldn't even be hearing about these ISIS beheadings (much less seeing them on video) and they'd be nothing but a footnote.

No social media = can't glorify ISIS because we wouldn't know much about them.

What stops them from creating a new account? What stops them from posting a YT vid?

Is the MSM ignoring them?

If Anonymous constantly cyber attacks them, sooner or later ISIS will just give up. It turns into a huge "why bother" type of thing.

Don't forget, Anonymous is the group who brought down hundreds of child pornography websites on the deepweb and got a dozen or so people arrested.

Anonymous isn't just a few people in moms basement hacking. They have thousands of members all across the planet. Put that many people onto a single task, you'd be surprised at what could be accomplished.

Dream on.

ISIS that is obviously being backed and funded by powerful entities is just going to fade away because a bunch of nerds keep hacking their FB account.

Come on now.

You obviously have no clue what Anonymous is capable of, do you? They are really telling the truth when they say "We own the internet"

They have gotten thousands of websites shut down across the deepweb. Multiple child porn and child trafficking websites. They have gotten multiple people arrested. So where ISIS is concerned, Anonymous will own them on the internet.

And if you don't think the internet is a big deal to ISIS, then you can dream on

And Anonymous is also backed and funded by power entities as well. They aren't some "nerds" in moms basement that you have them portrayed as being. All walks of life is a part of Anonymous. Ex Military among them.

What stops them from "posting a Youtube Video"? Well, Youtube stops them from posting a Youtube video. You won't find any of their grisly detailed beheading videos on Youtube. Go try to find one, I bet you can't.

Those videos are only found on the underground gore and death websites where the majority of the population never visit, for obvious reasons.

Is anonymous going to fight the ground war against them too?

Or do you actually believe that because of their accounts being hacked they will run out of fresh recruits and will have to give up?

Anonymous is a joke. Why don't they stop all the government corruption and expose their lies?

Why don't they show how ISIS is being backed by TPTB.

So what. Are you saying that their messages aren't being plastered across the MSM. You seem completely confused.

A lot of people believe that the internet is where WW3 will be fought. Cyber Warfare so to speak. Read up on it.

Take away their media platforms, you take away their means of getting their word out through the media. They'll all the sudden become invisible.

Nice nod to the Scarlett Pimpernel there LittleGreenAlien!

This sort of action, coming as it does from a group not affiliated with a government, but comprised of a multi faith, multinational group of hackers, shows just how effective citizen level action can be in some spheres. It's a bit of a slap in the face to the worlds various anti-terror police agencies and intelligence communities though.

You have nations spending money and time on creating cyber warfare divisions to set up Facebook accounts and twitter feeds, all in the hopes of fighting a media war against IS, and then all of a sudden, BAM! IS sites and accounts are being burned from the face of the net by a concerted, well executed strike by a group of vigilantes?

Has to smart a little bit, don't you think?

Complete BS. They can just create a new account post a message and the whole MSM will pick it up.

But let's say you are right, how soon are we going to see ISIS give up because of this? How soon will we see ISIS dissapear from the media?
