The comedy was pretty good. Kinda liked some of the other clips I found of him.
BUT...he did state handguns on the black market cost like $34,000 a piece in Australia.
That's a lot of money. The following link shows 2 Australian men running through
traffic WITH $34,000 X 2 = $64,000 worth of guns trying to hijack a vehicle after
their vehicle was disabled by spike strips. IN AUSTRALIA no less. Hmmmmmm.

Jim Jeffries on guns and massacres...

Before gun control in Austalia we had ten massacres.
After gun control, we had no massacres.

So his humorous point is, no guns = no massacres.

Except...that is historically naive.

No guns = the worst massacres in human history...over and over and over
again
and again
and again

Ha ha ha....funny stuff

Did you hear the one about Hitler and the Jews? It's hilarious.

And have you heard the one about Mao Zedong, Stalin, and Pol Pot
going into a bar...HA HA HA...you gotta hear that one...it's SOOO

If this thread is truly about humor, I suggest that a mod move it to the jokes forum.
As it is now, we have it in the political issues forum.

Well he did say he did a LOT of drugs, so take all he says with a grain a salt like and drunk rambling.

He not forcing his ideas on anyone, he's a comic. It's just part of his bit, might not even really be what he thinks, just what brings in the people.

What a fine way for discussion. And yes, there are countries with WAY less gun-related violence.

Learn about the world.

What? IS is several thousand kilometers away, and we do have a police to deal with them.

Or can you show me one occasion where an Armed Civilian has been able to stop a Bad Person (here: associated with IS / ISIS)?

Not to mention comparing the U.S. to Australia is asinine.

Last time I checked, Australia is isolated and not bordering a violent developing country(no offense Mexico) that has agreements with our own government over drug smuggling with violent cartels.

But if we're comparing apples to oranges...

If I could talk to Australia I would ask them how their rape rate is coming along? Oh yeah and how have those general assaults been fairing in the last decade? Going up or down?

The U.S. has had decreasing gun violence for the last 20 years.

Did you really just attempt to blame the holocaust on a lack of guns?....

Did Charlton Heston tell you that?

So gun control, in other words the restriction or lack of guns......led to the holocaust?

You can attempt to spin it, but that is what he is saying........and so are you?

And now dictatorships are being compared to western democracies.....I don't think it would be possible to play into the GN stereotype any more.

Gun control is not the restriction of guns.

It is the redistribution of guns into the hands of those people who are a part of the state.

Also, western democracies(like the U.S.) have been responsible for some of the worst violence worldwide in recent years. So yes, I will compare dictatorships to a western democracy in terms of overall violent behavior.

Well ya that's why it's called gun "control" not gun removal.

Ah, yes, I can see the headlines now:

Lone gunman goes nuts: Shoots 10,000 people at mall in 30 day rampage.

Well what are the leaders of America other than removed lone gunmen that use soldiers instead of personal weapons?

Now don't get me wrong, I understand that there are far more people pulling the strings than those guys. But still interesting to think about nonetheless.

I think total body count in Iraq based on what I could find is over 200k at this point. Mind you that is the result of an illegal war.

200K!

That's 34% of the population of Wyoming.

lets set the death penalty to the producers of the weapons.

A real man fights with his hands.

That's it.

You totally missed the point......

You cannot compare a lone gunman with a leader of a dictatorship, or whatever that wages war on its own people or others. Might as well be comparing peanuts to grapefruit.

Which is why I created the statement regarding a lone gunman on a 30 day rampage killing 10k people in a mall...its ridiculous when you combine components of both. Lone gunmen do not mass kill over a long period of time. Dictatorships or whatever do not limit their actions/murders/whatever to a single mall or location.

Get it now?

Seems like you are just looking for a reason to jump on a soapbox that is not related even remotely to the OP....

Well considering that you did not explain your point at all, I took from it what point I felt it made to me. Next time, try explaining your position and the expectation of people to view that position in a certain light will make more sense.

Also, the topic is about "gun control" which is essentially shifting gun rights from the average population to those who belong to the state. So you may think that those in various state bodies being responsible for mass killings is irrelevant, but I have to disagree.

Lone gunman- Man who has an agenda kills group of people.
Dictator- Man who has an agenda kills group of people
President- Man who has an agenda kills group of people

No?

The mindset between a man that kills suddenly by walking into a place and opening fire, and a man who becomes a leader and does it over a long stretch aren't that far removed from one another. You may say one is "legitimate" because people voted him in or because he is the head of a "state"...but murder is murder is murder.

So when we think of gun control it is very important to remember who will be controlling said guns.
