Where are you anyway Kwa Zulu Natal? Be mad at me all day if you want, you need to clam down and invest that anger into getting things done and working with those around you. You'll fare better and that's a guarantee. Unless you've made enemies with your entire neighborhood due to your lack of respect.

You need, help, I can help and I can help you quick. Stop being an asshole! I understand how you feel.

I gave you a star okay! Good...I didn't mean to offend even you but, you were and are out of line on so many grounds it's ridiculous. I know where you are, I can help you. I can't stick around forever but I want to help you because I can and I know how.

Either Private Message me or say something. Or tell me to F off! Just stop it with the black this black that...that's completely counterproductive!

Let me help you!

ETA
I'm not giving you a Flag for being a complete jerk! I will help you though if you get back to me.

Hi I'm not angry.

You've made a lot of noise and I know you now so thanks. Thanks for you comments. Please feel free to leave any more opinions you may have right here on this thread so we can all be nicely informed. Your comments are appreciated and noted. You certainly have a way with words and no doubt you take no noncense from anyone. I apologise if I said anything to offend you and for my ignorance. Please tell me how to proceed further since you care so much for me and by myself I may make many mistakes and get hurt or hurt others.

Besides help out or get out is there anything else I can do? I'm in kwazulu natal and yes I'm a semi privelaged white living in a country which is not mine and all I can do is bitch and moan. BUT I don't hate black (brown) people as I have love in my heart for everyone and that's why some people told me to get a gun and I say no. I will not kill. God will save e or I will die but I will not kill.

That is why I'm afraid. I blame who ever is at fault but I guess that's me. I'm at fault for all my countrys problems (sorry NOT my country) how can I fix it?

Tell me!

Read Into the Cannibal's Pot and you'll understand everything wrong with South Aftica. Under Mandela and his cronies it went from a thriving first world nation to now a third world cesspool like every other African nation. Filled with political corruption.

Thanks I wrote on your wall and left you a reply message. If you're tired perhaps get some rest and we can sharpen swords again later.

Peace.

Laugh all you want. We had people in rural areas without power for months. And FYI 48 hours would have been a blessing but every home in North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and half the homes in Maryland were without power. The landscape looked like a war zone. Some were restored in the first week after the storm. Most were out for a minimum of two weeks and like I said some were out for months. I think it's a fair comparison. If you can't see that oh well.
The point was and is that civil war didn't break out and in fact this brought neighborhoods together not just in clean up but in providing ice or fresh water both of which were in short supply and by that I mean nonexistent. No deliveries were happening because roads were blocked by fallen trees.

I understand but keep in mind that all the surrounding states were in the same boat. There was no power from Cape Fear in North Carolina to the Maryland border. That's the entire mid Atlantic region ans it was thousands and thousands of miles of wire that needed to be repaired and that couldn't take place until the roads were made passable. Some areas still look like a blast zone years later.

If that is not bad enough, our power gets sold to other countries, like for example Botswana.

Yes, really bad, but the difference is that you had a storm. We have a bad goverment who pockets huge amounts of bonusses for doing f-all. We were then charged more for our electricity "in order to build better electrical stations". Which never happened. Wonder where the money went then? Pocketed by greedy our greedy government.

I understand the situation you mentioned, but can't be compaired to our problem.

People don't always know what they are talking about regarding SA. Ignore.

The power problem in this country won't change, because they refuse to bring in private investers. If they do, they can't fill their filthy pockets!

The only advice I can give is get a generator, or go solar.

Regards

honest question...what would happen if new orleans lost power for a month?

you see, the problem is not the tiny rural areas. it is going to start when people in densely populated areas.

also comparing the situation with weather is also wrong because as you mention. mobility was restricted.

also two weeks or even a month is a positive estimate that we may be without power, because there appears to be no plann pla to get the power back online...there appears to be no plan B.

UPDATE: all my power just went off! I live in Seaview on the Bluff in Kzn. Iether the grid just went down or I'm experiencing our daily loadshedding. Not to worry its only two to three hours with no electricity whatsoever! I guess ill just sit here in the ddark and wait for my cellphone battery to die.

Then light a candle I guess? I could go for a walk or write an epic poem! I always said I watched too much TV anyway.

I don't think the grid is down, no its probally just daily loadshedding... I hope. We will see. I keep expecting it to happen at any moment but it never does.

Can't wait for a resolution to all this. Let Jacob Zuma and the ANC give us in South Africa some good news tomorrow! Viva ANC viva!

South Africa state of the nation address tomorrow 12th Feb!

That's crazy stuff. How has Africa made it thus far and having problems like this? If that crap isn't designed, I don't know what is...

If I was a white person living in South Africa I would immigrate out of there especially if I had a family to protect! Sometimes your best sense is your common sense!

based on what wonder woman (public enemy no.1) said to the op, i'm guessing she will be saying the same thing to americans when we have no food, water, law and order, electricty, and folks are being murdered by communists from cuba, venezula and other communist nations south of the border. news flash, wherever i put my hat, i call home, and that's how everybody sees it - except marxists on a mission. when the marxists work up a head of steam, you suddenly lose human rights for skin color, religion, country of origin, and so on . next they'll be testing for blood type-- oh oops, you're not the right blood type.

Oh well, at least Eskom has guaranteed that the lights will stay on for President Zuma's State of the Nation speech.

I'm sure we're all so relieved and jumping with joy to hear that.

According to the article Eskom guaranteed it, but it's not a total guarantee.
Huh?
www.moneyweb.co.za...

It would be hilarious if the ghost of Jan Van Riebeeck had his revenge and turned the lights off.

That would be almost as much fun as watching another fist fight between the EFF and the ANC.

Here's a little bit of the fun we saw in Novemeber 2014, when the riot police was called to parliament.

Hey hd3d

I can actually handle loadshedding as a preventive action. The bbigfear though is when the ANC push the grid for election purposes or as halfoldman said for SONA. It would be a disaster if the power went off tomorrow night they will simply risk it and next year with elections when they will push the grid for a longer period.

Apparently things will go better when medupi goes online BUT that will stir a new problem, coal shortages because eskom wants coal really really cheap and the mines are rather exporting...
