Excavators in Russia have dug up a bizarre object that strongly resembles a UFO.

The object was discovered by a coal mining company in Siberia's Kuznetsk Basin, during excavation work, reports Mirror. Adding to the mystery of how an object like that was found buried 40 metres under the ground, archaeologists called in to examine it, believe it's a man-made object.

Excavator Boris Glazkov, 40, who found the object, said: "I have to say it wasn't hard to see as it was really distinctive and large. I've never seen anything like this object, which is obviously man-made, here in the middle of nowhere before. It is a real mystery."

His colleague, Arthur Presnyakov, 38, said: "There were actually two similar objects, but the first one broke as it was being pulled out of the ground by the excavator bucket. We thought we saw something sure, because it broke into pieces, but then when the second one appeared we stopped work and carefully removed it from the bucket."

However, as per the Mirror report, UFO enthusiasts and sky watchers are convinced it fell from space.

"Given that it was embedded so deep underground, it could be older than mammoth bones, which have been discovered in the area at a depth of 25 metres," state the website.

The unusual object is almost perfectly circular, with a diameter of around 1.2 metres and weighs roughly 440lbs.

What do people think? Report is from Yahoo news...

It's a story in "The Mirror" which also has a story about a 200 year-old mummy that is supposidly not dead but in deep meditation. Your source has zero credibility.

Your thread title is wrong. It's not a UFO shaped object!!

We don't know what a UFO looks like for sure.

As to what it is exactly.... well, who knows but I reckon it is man-made as it looks too small to have come from some ship flying by and it's 'stone'.

It looks like a giant concrete nipple to me.

Yeh I know, I'm sorry.

resembles a grinding or milling wheel to me so perhaps originally used for grinding grain for flower
or perhaps for sharpening weapons.

the depth is interesting it needs properly dating then perhaps it can be linked to a tribe or group
known to the area.

obviously it has no link to UFO's whatsoever beyond it's shape.
and it needs to be verified to be genuinely dug up there.

either way its good click bait for the mirror which is a comic pretending to be a newspaper.

to my mind... the object reminds me of a stopper for a drain ... that round dome being the part which seats the plug/stopper into the drain hole..

as for the "plug/stopper" being situated some 40 meters (120') under ground...
Are there caves, tunnels, mines down there? what was the reason for digging that deep?
I don't know of many 'excavations' that go 40 meters down.. 40 meters down sounds more like an open pit mine or something of that nature

if it is thought to be man-made... well, from what era? the 1930s or perhaps ~1 million BCE?

Fantastic job on your thread title;
As we and the Air Force have known for the last 68 years what a UFO's
precise shape actually is, and that is it exactly . So well done..

Now if you had said "Full size actual UFO dug up in Russia". ..
that would have been another story, and then hopefully some helpful poster
would have come by to straighten it out.

Was going to suggest the same thing. As far as I'm aware all ancient cultures used the basic idea of grinding materials on stones to break them down, whether that be for food or otherwise.

That being said I wouldn't totally discount the possibility of this being natural. It looks potentially volcanic and with the whole size of the planet and how many rocks there are I don't see why at least one couldn't end up looking like this

Just to add to my potentially natural theory, I imagine this could also be glacial. I ask, Is it possible this stone could have been caught under a glacier which forced it to roll very slowly between the glacier and the ground grinding it into a wheel shape over thousands of years? I believe It could be possible. just a natural fluke maybe.

That looks like the top of a big fossilized acorn.

Well, evidence of an ancient advanced society maybe. Maybe they had street lights like we used to have years ago.
