Axe=big rock+stick+knife!
now all we need is a sword bow that shoots axes and we're set

That'll work for me.
Insert left arrow here

No range but as good a cutting edge as you're likely to find with excellent durability, versatility and power. Works equally well as an axe or machete and bigger than your typical knife. Mine has a 10 1/2 blade and weighs just over a pound.

Here's my baby

One of my favourite primitive weapon:

Oh wait, it has to be "hand held". Well, I hand-hold this blade...

...to trigger this:

I'd say the most dangerous weapons of all is the hands and the body, where as even today people who are trained modern guns still require a degree of hand to hand combat.

Nothing could create more destruction or power then the hands.

Really?

Even the greatest techniques of martial arts can be undone by only one projectile.

That is why Gengis Khan invested in archers, and the roman invested in catapults. The result were empires that spanned all across the old world.

Well, true, that archer has make sure that person doesn't come close to him. It all depends on the person really, where as a person with a gun must maintain a certain safe distance, lest being beaten to death with someone who's been trained to beat down trees and what not. Thing is though, is that your talking about large scaled battles, where archer would launch volleys of arrows at their enemies, one on one may vary depending on the combatants and the setting.

And that Archer still needs to have a pair of decent hands I might add. A properly Muay Thai trained fighter has the force of a 35 mile car crash, with a clinch and a knee, and thats more then enough to dent armor or a head. Doesn't need a stick and a rock, his body the rock if you get what im saying.

I have one friend, who knew this guy from his boxing club, whom fought 5 guys and beat the crap out of them, before one of them pulled out a gun and shot his leg. Sadly his leg got amputated.

Have you seen the video of Lars Anderson, the guy whose bringing back ancient archery techniques back from the grave?

If anything I take it back, the human mind should be the most deadliest, although I still respect and fear a skilled robin hood like archer .

Thanks EOMS. It was my Birthday present from a good friend. He picked up while in the 'stan. Genuine Nepalese Kukri with Water Buffalo handle and edge you can shave with. It's definitely the crown jewel of my collection.

Correction Swanne the Kukri is Nepalese not Indian. If you are interested here's a link to the wiki page.

If you have some spare time do a little surfing there's some interesting history and stories behind the Kukri/Kukuhri and the Gurkhas who wield them.

How about the old sling? Not my favorite, but I would like to learn how to use one accurately.

ID

As I remember, Scientific American had a nice article on the sling. When used with lead "eggs," it would penetrate leather armor at 200 yards. Look for the October 1973 issue in the library.

I would go with a good old Louisville slugger. I keep one beside my bed.

Beside the bed for upside the head...

Chopping,Slashing,Stabbing,Lopping,Lacerating,Smashing,Bashing,Crushing,Pounding,Spattering,.... Check
HAND HELD TOOLS ..... check (two hands for some)

There are two rules.
1-No Guns!..... check
2-It has to be battle worthy as in- not a show piece that would fail miserably if you were to use it..... well has got me into many battles.... with a fairly low failure rate...

The most dangerous ancient weapon? The priest.

Sorry about the delay. A BFR is a Big F-----g Rock. Either thrown. rolled down an incline or dropped from height…

Avalanche being the best. Lots of substitutes, too. Brick, car battery, bowling ball…

limitless possibilities. You can charge up my hill into my rock slide with your hammer or whatever if you like…

I don't know if it's called a Shongo or a Trombash but since I like throwers this is my favorite.

If i have to settle with something else...

This. I definitely prefer ranged weapons to melee.
