"The Armata tank will reportedly feature a remotely controlled gun and fully automated loading, as well as a separate crew compartment made from composite materials and protected by multilayered armor. It is believed that this would eventually lead to the development of a fully robotic tank."

Here come the Robot Terminator tanks. Eventually wars will be fought with robots and whoever has the best tech wins the war, no humans needed to fight the wars, just robots vs. robots. War and anti-war....war and anti war

Depressing

I was hoping the first Russian fully robotic units would look like big Metal Bears and have Laser eyes.

No creativity, it would be much cooler to watch Robot Bears take down ordinary tanks on the news.

They also will violate the geneva convention with HEAVY FLAME throwing as listed.
Not really a possibility with the economy under assault like it is.

What do you mean eventually? War is already won by the most technologically advanced nations, and
Robots in war

Its cool, but do they need it?

Maybe we should come up with a new phrase "zero flesh on the ground", maybe?

Hehe. Do you remember reading about those robots that turned human flesh into fuel? So creepy. I couldnt believe someone would develop that.

Great more death.

Can someone please explain to me, as though I was a two year old, what the # is wrong with humanity?

I'm no sissy and I have plenty of anger and hate inside, you know ego and all that, but come on now. We really are a pathetic race.

Sad how war is used to prop economies and enrich a select few. Now if only their hearts weren't 40 1/2 sizes to small, they'd see you can still profit from benevolence also. Which means there truly is a dark and sinister evil afoot. You truly are a mean one, Mr. Grinch.

Well, remote controlled vehicles are not exactly new. Apart from using remote controlled bomb disposal for many years, the British Army has vehicles like the Terrier.

en.wikipedia.org...

I know it’s not some flash, armed to the teeth fantasy, but at least it’s no concept and works.

However, the move fully antonymous "robot" tanks is outside our abilities, in my opinion. They would be especially dangerous for anyone on the battlefield without a human being in between the trigger and the tank.

Regards

If there is no air superiority surely tanks are sitting ducks to enemy aircraft?

Wars will never be free of human death.
Air power only win not win wars without boots on the ground.
And no nation will accept defeat in a war that only machines are defeated.
Your robot beat my robot, so here's Alaska... Enjoy.

Is this the tank Volvo have been developing for them? I bet one on one the Challenger 2 is superior.

Incorrect.

Protocol III: Incendiary Weapons, only applies to the application of incendiary weapons, not the weapons themselves.

All of which is moot, as Russia never ratified Protocol 3.

Maybe. Maybe even probably.

But, Russia has never operated their armor on the basis of individual superiority.

Something about quantity being a quality all of its own.

Wonder if it will be as good as this little beauty.....LOL!

Lookout...here comes the very slow moving robot driven 4-wheeler.....guessing they have not figured out that it doesn't need a humanoid type robot yet....really just laughable.

You know the Russians have actually considered this.... Unlike the U.S. and people who work off the American playbook....

You seem to be taking this as a sign of relief haha!

Just wait until the enemy sends out their robotic army after cities full of civilians. The only thing that is different between a robot and a man with their finger on the trigger, is that man has feelings and a consciousness...robot's don't;they never hesitate or think.
