Michelle Obama's Face Blurred By Saudi State TV For Not Wearing A Head Scarf

This may be Michelle's way of taking a stance for women's rights around the world, especially in that part of the world where a woman can be stoned to death for committing adultry. Michelle gave some powerful speeches last year about women's equality throughout the world.

This may have been her way of saying something to the women in the region without really "saying" anything. And now it is all over social media and women are talking. I'm going to applaud Michelle on creating this talking point.

Saudi Arabia has NEVER required foreign women to wear head scarves, why should Michelle Obama wear one?

They're touring an Indonesian Mosque. That's why Michelle Obama is in headgear. Same with the other picture where she's wearing Catholic headgear. In Saudi Arabia pictures, she isn't inside a religious institution like a mosque or a cathedral.

I'm pretty sure that 3rd picture is photoshopped.

Is it acceptable to say that the blurring was an improvement ;-) Actually I don't care if it's acceptable or not, the truth may hurt but it can never be a lie.

Michelle was under no obligation to cover her head as a non-Muslim American, and the Saudi TV had every right to blur her out as the media station of a foreign theocracy.

its true they do things differently there
some would call it sexist patriarcal male oriented , women and men are separated by choice and men have multiple wives and families

but since they are so wealthy it works out great for them in their way of thinking their religions belief

Oh it is all those things you say. And it doesn't work very well at all for the average Saudi woman. It doesn't even work out well for the wealthy ones.

But, unless you want to invade that country to force change, it is as I say - Michelle is under no obligation to kowtow to them in her mode of dress only show respect and Saudi TV is under no obligation to show dressed in a manner they consider immodest.

After all, we do not demand the Saudi women dress to please us when (if) they ever visit here.
