I don't want to live on the same planet as anyone who thinks this torture is every okay, for any crime.

(Miss American for FederalJack) Why has the nation that was the envy of all peoples and a beacon of hope for the world, become one of the most hated, resented and feared entities on earth?? What happened? Who is behind it? Was it really this way all along? If so, the world has been deluded for decades by satanic self-appointed masters of the universe who took great delight in engineering a false world for the masses to wallow in. But, just when everyone felt safe and secure in their home, and in their children’s future (ie. firmly under Satan’ s matrix and boot), Satan and his helpers decided it was the perfect time to start amusing themselves by administering the shock treatments Americans ‘deserved’. With no shame, and little cover, they started to show their hideous face. It started with a ‘war on terror’, imaginary boogeymen, protecting the ‘homeland’, the need to kill millions, and destroy entire countries. While stuffing their pockets with billions, they told us it was to keep precious Americans ‘safe’. Sadly, 90% of the citizens were on board with this plan. For them, anything ‘we’ did was fine, as long as it kept their mortgaged McMansions, remote controlled huge screen TVs, Lexus SUVs, and butter dipped lobsters safe from the menacing terrorists. And for Americans who were not as fortunate as others, they vicariously gained a sense of strength from their Lazy Boy recliner and flag adorned ‘92 F-150s, as they watched America’s power and might decimate other unlucky populations.

Very strange that anyone would be motivated to use this to punish prisoners even more.
I think its greatest use, if true, would be for contemplation and problem solving.
There was one experiment where they flashed numbers really fast on display which most people could not discern what the numbers were since they were flashing by so fast. They were able to read them however, if they jumped off a high tower on a bungee cord falling at a high velocity.
Th resulting hypotheses was that your perception speeds up when you are in high alert.

(probably been mentioned) This reminds me of an episode of ST-DS9 (Hard Time, s.04:e19), Chief O'Brien is given 20 years for espionage, yet only a few hours pass in the real world. Messes him up for a little bit.
Cruel and unusual punishment comes to mind.

Oh! They found a way to slow down, or mess with peoples perception of time and all they can think of is how to use it to make prisoners seem like there serving more time? Wow...Seems about right.
But hey people should not play with there perception of time. That is some loppy dopy stuff right there. Can anybody say missing time syndrome? All those UFO ubductees may have been on to something, isn't the story always that they were gone for hours but only minutes went by? They may have not been on to something, more like on something.

Thirty years in prison is currently the most severe punishment available in the UK legal system.

The Op states,
Thirty years in prison is currently the most severe punishment available in the UK legal system.
I did not know that being in the USA. It's no wonder they want to make a drug that slows down time for these people.. a murderer I take it in the UK can only get a 30 year sentence ?
If so, they need these people to think they served a longer sentence to demoralize them into behaving after they are out of prison. To a murderer who doesn't get the better option of life in prison (or a quick hanging) 30 years is a walk in the park.
Remind me never to go to the UK - i cannot imagine the very large numbers of murders you guys let out of prison after only 30 years - who are living and working around YOU all the time.
And you guys complain about our gun laws.. Gee.. if we let our murderers out in only 30 years we'd need even more guns! You guys (UK Government) are So stupid. You are the ones who NEED the guns!

I would take this once a year. I would LOVE to have the thinking time of a couple thousand years....OMFG I would love this. Well only if I could handle it....
I imagine that only the strongest minds could endure thousands of years worth of thoughts without going insane.
