I know there is 9 pages but am I the only one that sees this with a Viagra and a hot girl as not a bad thing?

Umm for 1000 years thats some heavy duty church worship my friend?

I think you may be onto something wonderful here, but how could you do that for 1000 mental years?

Hmm its thought provoking, and our experience of reality may change and we may awaken to new profound experiences ina kind of tantric experience.

I need to really think on this one, I dunno how it would work, only one way to find out lolz!

Great article! Star for you, can't flag yet, but if I could I would! Looks like you stirred more than just our imaginations! Ethics seem to be the major debate about this drug and with good reason. I agree with all you have said!! Compassion and rehabilitation are the keys for us to change our society. Dr. Roache has many articles on her site at Oxford. The one that stuck out at first glance was titled, "Should we do more to help pedophiles?" She believes rehabilitation and addressing the behavior before it becomes a problem is the answer. I have too agree!! I don't want to derail your thread but here is a link to that article if anyone wants to read it. First time posting link so I hope it works.... link

Before I get hammered for sympathizing with the enemy, I was sexually abused as a child by a pedophile. I can say I have been on both sides of the fence. At one time I wanted to kill him, now I can honestly look at the situation unbiasedly and wonder if he had received behavior training instead of being ignored would things have gone a different way?

I have been wondering what has happened to people and why criminal evils are considered good now.
Torture has never been nor will it ever be a good thing.
An eye for an eye makes you just as criminal as the original offender.
If someone kills or tortures someone many just want to kill and torture them which is just as bad as the original crime.
Causing suffering to others and getting pleasure from it is sadism, and many have become sadistic.
Its become a cultural norm to see sadism in our comedy as well as in our justice system, which doesnt reflect justice as all.

Most of our tax money goes into war machines to promote suffering, and the driving force of our inovations is corporate profit.

That they could come up with a drug that can strech 1000 years into 8 hours is amazing, however give that to a sadistic culture and watch how they torture people with it. Pathetic to say the least.

I made a similar thread that deals with how comedy has come to a point where if someone isnt suffering we get no pleasure from the comedy. Its really sad to see our society loves to see others suffer and even gets pleasure from it, sounds kinda demonic or even satanic.

(Miss American for FederalJack) Why has the nation that was the envy of all peoples and a beacon of hope for the world, become one of the most hated, resented and feared entities on earth?? What happened? Who is behind it? Was it really this way all along? If so, the world has been deluded for decades by satanic self-appointed masters of the universe who took great delight in engineering a false world for the masses to wallow in. But, just when everyone felt safe and secure in their home, and in their children’s future (ie. firmly under Satan’ s matrix and boot), Satan and his helpers decided it was the perfect time to start amusing themselves by administering the shock treatments Americans ‘deserved’. With no shame, and little cover, they started to show their hideous face. It started with a ‘war on terror’, imaginary boogeymen, protecting the ‘homeland’, the need to kill millions, and destroy entire countries. While stuffing their pockets with billions, they told us it was to keep precious Americans ‘safe’. Sadly, 90% of the citizens were on board with this plan. For them, anything ‘we’ did was fine, as long as it kept their mortgaged McMansions, remote controlled huge screen TVs, Lexus SUVs, and butter dipped lobsters safe from the menacing terrorists. And for Americans who were not as fortunate as others, they vicariously gained a sense of strength from their Lazy Boy recliner and flag adorned ‘92 F-150s, as they watched America’s power and might decimate other unlucky populations.

Very strange that anyone would be motivated to use this to punish prisoners even more.

I think its greatest use, if true, would be for contemplation and problem solving.

There was one experiment where they flashed numbers really fast on display which most people could not discern what the numbers were since they were flashing by so fast. They were able to read them however, if they jumped off a high tower on a bungee cord falling at a high velocity.

Th resulting hypotheses was that your perception speeds up when you are in high alert.

(probably been mentioned) This reminds me of an episode of ST-DS9 (Hard Time, s.04:e19), Chief O'Brien is given 20 years for espionage, yet only a few hours pass in the real world. Messes him up for a little bit.

Cruel and unusual punishment comes to mind.

Yes this has been in sci fi and now we may have it in real life, sad it may be used to torture rather than aid our civilization. Just imagine what amazing pleasures you could experience in 1000 years of programmed bliss and joy in your lucid dream, not to mention the ability to learn and experience everything ever desired.

Oh! They found a way to slow down, or mess with peoples perception of time and all they can think of is how to use it to make prisoners seem like there serving more time? Wow...Seems about right.

But hey people should not play with there perception of time. That is some loppy dopy stuff right there. Can anybody say missing time syndrome? All those UFO ubductees may have been on to something, isn't the story always that they were gone for hours but only minutes went by? They may have not been on to something, more like on something.

Just think of all the positive things they could do for quality of life for the people in our civilization.

A 1000 year a night lucid dream that changes according to your desires like your the programmer, unending experiences could belong to all likened to our own personal heavens.

Yeah this technology has a real possibility to change the way we learn and experience life, and change it for the better. We would be likened to super intelligent superhumans if we all got this technology.

The Op states,

Thirty years in prison is currently the most severe punishment available in the UK legal system.

I did not know that being in the USA. It's no wonder they want to make a drug that slows down time for these people.. a murderer I take it in the UK can only get a 30 year sentence ?

If so, they need these people to think they served a longer sentence to demoralize them into behaving after they are out of prison. To a murderer who doesn't get the better option of life in prison (or a quick hanging) 30 years is a walk in the park.

Remind me never to go to the UK - i cannot imagine the very large numbers of murders you guys let out of prison after only 30 years - who are living and working around YOU all the time.

And you guys complain about our gun laws.. Gee.. if we let our murderers out in only 30 years we'd need even more guns! You guys (UK Government) are So stupid. You are the ones who NEED the guns!

Europe has been far better at rehabilitation than the US has been. A large part of that is due to the differences in how they approach prison.

I would take this once a year. I would LOVE to have the thinking time of a couple thousand years....OMFG I would love this. Well only if I could handle it....

I imagine that only the strongest minds could endure thousands of years worth of thoughts without going insane.

I would do it daily and be a new dude every day after learning 1000 years of knowledge and experience daily, it would be pretty awesome to say the least.

Or if there was a way to continually experience 1000 years every 8 hours as well as be able to function in the normal everyday world at the same time that would be pretty awesome! Kinda like a continual lucid dreamed time stop, but to everyone else time was moving normally and you could interact normally with them. Talk about a wise guy!
