Things are getting interesting in the Middle-East, it seems. The leader of Hamas' armed wing named Mohammed Deif wrote a letter to its embattled enemy Hezbollah in a plea to join forces to fight a common enemy-Zionist Israel.

The letter, posted on the website of Hezbollah-run Al-Manar TV, suggests the Palestinian Hamas and Hezbollah were patching up a rift over the Syrian war.

Hamas has been hostile toward Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has been fighting against the rebels trying to topple him.

"The true enemy of the nation is the Zionist enemy and all rifles must be directed against it," said the letter, which carried Deif's signature. "All forces of resistance must direct their coming battle as one."

This is an important development as I think it is just a matter of time before this kind of thing happened. This is turning messy real fast. I think we all know where WW3 will happen; all of the pieces are falling into place. What says ATS?

Hezbollah do not care for the Palestinian plight, so much so that refugee Palestinians are shoved into ghettoes and camps in Lebanon along with Lebanon's ally Syria who do the same...

Hezbollah will only fight Israel if it affects their own border...

& Hamas probably only care to get their hands on much better Rockets.

That's not to say the alliance won't happen, but it'll be short term on both sides imo.

Interesting perspective. We shall see how it unfolds.

It appears as if Hamas is trying to capitalise on the recent Israeli attacks against Iranian and Hezbollah officials in Syria. They may be looking at forming an alliance which would both, act as a stronger deterrence to Israeli aggression and provide better support for Hamas.

I personally think it is not a wise move right now, as the ICC is investigating both Palestine and Israel for war crimes (from a period spanning from June 2014 - present). It does no one favours to stir the pot like this...It only compromises Palestine's position on the international stage...especially in regards to their attempts at independence.

Well, they could get together and try to attack Israel. And they might even succeed...

...but, sooner or later, they'll betray each other and try to bring the other down.

Has this not happened a thousand times in our history? Nothing new there, IMO.

Still... pretty bad.

They may unite, however old differences will eventually return and cause a rift between the two. Then again a united front is a stronger front.
