NY Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, accused of taking around $6 in bribes and kickbacks, has turned himself in!!! Personally I couldn't be happier!

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, the longtime Albany power broker, surrendered Thursday to face multimillion dollar federal corruption charges, the Daily News has learned. A stunning five-count criminal complaint accused the Manhattan Democrat, a state political fixture for decades, with pocketing more than $6 million in bribes and kickbacks in return for wielding his massive influence.

www.nydailynews.com...

The three men in the room tactic has been involved in so much crap over the past decades while managing to put NY into debt even when their state constitution forbids it!! I hope they nail the rest of the bunch also.

I read this earlier. And I say GOOD! Now lock Cuomo up and maybe NY will stop being the Nanny State. So tired of the intrusive government over here. All progress is knocked down if it doesn't help those who run it. Lock him up, give him a loaf of bread throw away the key and tell him "Hope the rats don't chew your toes off!"

Now where oh where is justice for DeBlasio, Eileen Gunther and John Bonacic?

So where's the list of everything he did under the influence of money?

We won't see it. Cuomo used it as toilet paper along with the Constitution.

As a resident of NY Cuomo aint a bad guy, he's a bit more honest then most have been and is taking this state in the right direction minus the "gun things". Sheldon Silver is a crooked jerk and deserves what is happening to him.

Really? NY's getting worse and worse. Cuomo always makes sure to hold back this state if he doesn't agree with it/profit off of it.

He runs the entire state like a major city, only cares about the big areas and assumes the "filler areas" are populated only by trees and hopefully voters.

Just gonna point out the OP initially says he took "around $6 in bribes."

To which my jaw dropped that a politician turned himself in for taking $6 in bribes. Eyebrows went up. I even wtf'd a little.

Then the article cleared that up for me lol

To me even if a politician took a 10 cent bribe they should be locked up.

And always seemed to win election after election.

A bit unorthodox I would say !!!

Especially for a lawyer and politician.

IDK about that. Historically rural upstate areas have been poor. Business has been leaving for decades. Most of the rural communities have no local work. His business stimulus is making it very easy for Businesses to come to New York. He's realistic about certain things I don't see how New York is on a worse trend then it was under his father, or Pataki or canadate number 7 (or was it 9).

Then again, where in Schenectady county, things were so bad, until he took over, and he a lot of new businesses came here and the city has been on a jobs upswing. And now we get the casino, which I hate, because, well, I'm an poker addict, lol.

Just what I see of Cuomo I like. That's just me thought. Doesn't mean I am right. The gun grab is his black mark.

He's screwed up too much imo. This state is behind on many things, instead of advancing he's been instrumental in setting it back.

I wonder if he will disappear if someone thinks that he will take others down with him? But he will probably not get to much punishment before it gets swept under the rug.

About time they took down this scumbag. There's nothing they can do to him that he doesn't deserve.

This is the guy taking union money to keep MMA out of NY until the Fertita brothers (they own the UFC) unionize their casinos (which has nothing to do with MMA).

When coverage of their three men in the room tactics along with how they had set up their slush fund and use it to send NY into so much debt hit the airwaves I am afraid that I kind of lost hope for NY and went elsewhere. We were in the upstate area also and well from what I observed any jobs that they created was more of a perk for the recipient of the funds they gave than any of the jobs created.
Have the employees that were working on the Destiny USA ever get paid?
