Why do female athletes wear skimpy clothing?

That is the ugliest bunch of chicks I have seen.

Whatever women wear its usually because men have worn them first. High-heels for instance. I'm not too sure about bikinis, however.

My favorite sport is Female Beach Volleyball, been watching it for years, still have no idea how the game is played or how they decide who wins...

As far as the attire worn, I find it tasteful and very empowering

Well I'm just going to go ahead and point out the obvious. There's a huge number of men who are middle aged (I'll be 50 years old next month myself) who are, um... well I don't want to say lazy couch potatoes so I'll just say we aren't really as in shape as we were in our 20's and 30's. And other than working in the yard and things like that, we don't really get enough aerobic exercise to get our hearts pumping like they should be. So when you put a stunningly fine specimen of femininity in a tiny little outfit that leaves very little to the imagination - you get our old men hearts pounding. It's almost like an aerobic exercise! So there's that.

This! This is a perfect example of what I meant!

There clearly inviting men to have sex with them. Women dont do physical activities or sports for health, its clearly just so they can be noticed by men.

I say get back to the roots of the Olympics a bit & have everyone compete nude. Hell, even "gymnasium" is taken from the Greek word "gymos", which means "nude" to begin with. I'm not trying to be a smartass, just pointing out if we're going to continue an ancient competition, getting back to some of the old traditions doesn't sound too horrible.

In short, in keeping with ancient Greek tradition, I'd be willing to watch both genders compete nekkid. Especially the guys. You know, for tradition's sake.
