Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo is planning to sue Fox News for its inaccurate reports on Muslim "no go zones," she told CNN's Christiane Amanpour on Tuesday.

"When we're insulted, and when we've had an image, then I think we'll have to sue, I think we'll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed," Hidalgo told Amanpour in an interview. "The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced."

When asked to clarify which network she planned "to take to court and sue," Hidalgo replied: “Fox News, that’s the name.”

story can be read here www.politico.com...

Its seem people and other countrys now are getting tired of fox news lies and there attempt to cause fear and hate there not a news station at this point IMO just a political propaganda station and uneducated unimformed people think every thing they put on the air is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth and its hate speech and lies are damaging to society imo they dont deserve to be called a new organisation at this point.

In my opinion, The City of Paris should sue the American Government, specifically the Supreme Court for ruling that FOX news, e.g. the media has the right to present lies and propaganda to the public.

In my opinion, the COURT should be charged with treason for that ruling alone, but there are other rulings that would qualify too.

Media as the "Fourth Estate"
Access to information is essential to the health of democracy for at least two reasons. First, it ensures that citizens make responsible, informed choices rather than acting out of ignorance or misinformation. Second, information serves a "checking function" by ensuring that elected representatives uphold their oaths of office and carry out the wishes of those who elected them.

In the United States, the media is often called the fourth branch of government (or "fourth estate"). That's because it monitors the political process in order to ensure that political players don't abuse the democratic process. www.usfca.edu...

That is for the courts to decide.

At least Fox News is now facing a real consequence as a result of their spotty reporting.

I hope every French citizen...once the shock wears off....investigates the Charlie Hebdo event in full...and sees that there is some strange funny business going on around the whole story.

Of course, there is no such thing as official "no go zones." That would be the worst violation of PCness not to mention it would get bad press all around the world. So of course the mayor of Paris is outraged. So would be the mayors of Los Angeles, Newark, Oakland, Houston, etc. But we in America, anyway, all are wary of "no go zones" in many of our major cities. But officials of every stripe from the lowest levels to the highest would never dare to say those words and they will deny such areas even exist.

Oh I share your sentiment that nothing will come of the lawsuit, but I'm just glad someone said "Enough of your BS, Fox" and DID something.

How bout we jail any news anchor that gets the facts wrong for let's say one year. After three months we would not have a news anchor left to roam free.

As for the lawsuit, well that's just pathetic.

Did they? Someone posted an apology they made concerning their comments about England, but did they broadcast one for the comments about Paris?

Fox isn't news, it's entertainment. Even though some knuckle heads can't tell the difference and take Fox as gospel.

It's a perfect platform for hanging advertisements of depends and viagra.

Fox doesn't even pretend to be a new outlet anymore....

I love when people point at Fox news and say look at the agenda they are pushing..........FOOLS. It is not Fox news agenda they are paid to push it for someone else. Just like CNN,MSNBC,CBS,PBS,BBC,ABC,WC.....etc.

These propaganda outlets are controlled by the very same corporations controlling the governments in many countries. So stop pointing at FOX and take a deeper harder look and find the real facts.

Go to it Ms. Hidalgo - right on

I'm not sure how this will go, but I would love to see FOX in a position where it's required to demonstrate exactly how it comes up with it's news - and then, how it sells it

At the very least, even if this never gets to court - there will be plenty of opportunities to watch FOX make a complete ass of itself

I know that's not really anything new, but yes, oh please yes - with rainbow sprinkles all on top...
