I would still stand by my statement earlier though - simply being an older planet does not mean any life is necessarily "older" or more advanced. It entirely depends on what has transpired in their neck of the woods, as I said about the Dinosaurs, without the meteorite, we may well be living on a planet with an "old" civilisation or, on the flipside, we may one day go to an "old earth" and find it totally populated by simple creatures such as the trilobite. In fact, had it not been for the "snowball" earth on our own planet, life may never have grown much more complex than it was 700 mya as it is widely believed that it was that extreme in climate that kicked off the Cambrian explosion.

And just because it is ATS I'll throw this in as well - maybe the dinosaurs didn't all die out and are those pesky "reptilians" people like to moan about
