Theocracy.

theocracy
θɪˈɒkrəsi/Submit
noun
a system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.

It is obviously some people would love their country to have laws based on whatever religion they are.
Personally I would like all religions out of all governments.
So my questions.

1) would you like a theocracy?
2) If so what laws would you like brought in to do with your religion.
3) Should even a none theocratic government have any laws which are down to a religious view?.

Questions for anyone religious or not.
I wonder If people are brave enough to post their true feelings on this subject?.

1) Not at all, I would move somewhere nice instead.
2) None, laws that favor one group or religion over the other are bad laws.

Only if they were Techno-Preists.

And the Theocracy is God-Emperor.

Then Yes. FOR THE EMPEROR!

NADA. Freedom. Not insanity and going back to the ice ages. We aint going back to lower dimensional insanity. Keep your spiritual beliefs as your own crutch through life, and share by all means miracles and out of the box experiences, because some people need a pick me up in this hard world and when we share, its like stepping stones for another. I've had many a strong nudge and search begin from anohter's ramblings, like ET_MAN, and a few great thinkers. But we need half the laws gone, the ones that violate human freedoms and individual choices, they're crimes not laws, called slavery and theocracies, are sickening.

What we really need is councils of citizens and the ability to fire quickly anyone we hire to manage things, in government, and judicial positions.

How about just having a society where everyone is free to believe or not believe with leaders who support those freedoms?

Peace

Jude called it.

Actual leadership of the people by the people for the people.

I dont care what invisible guy in the sky folks want to believe in, I just dont believe and shouldnt be bound by the others superstitious notions.

Absolutely, unequivocally, no way in hell (pun intended)
Great idea, lets let a singular individual interpret philosophical, historical and out of context ancient precepts and apply those views to the running of a secular/practical governance over a diverse people, each with their own interpretations of the same out of context precepts.

Sounds even more ludicrous than our present model.

Oh I agree with you all.
I highly doubt anyone who would like their country to turn into one to admit they do here on ATS.
We all know there are many people who would like a theocracy I just hope some admit it.

I'm almost scared to reply as I've stepped on a few religious toes recently.

As previously stated, "no, just no"

Would be nice to hear from the religious side, as it's is a really important question, so come on folks... you too!

I believe many would, they just wont admit it.

Some sharia..you know who you are.

Others christian fundamentalism.

Neither sound good to me.

1. HELL NO! (Pun intended)
2. We have enough laws already.
3. No, that defeats the purpose of separating church from state.

Radical Islam shows us exactly why. If I wanted to live in Saudi Arabia, Id move there.
If I wanted to be a radical christian Id move to westboro.
If I wanted to be a radical Jew, Id be in Jerusalem.

No, no one wants a theocracy. I do think that people are getting awfully plastic about what they think constitutes "theocracy" though. These days, if you can even thinly link a person's religious persuasion at all to their position on legislation you don't like, it becomes "theocracy" whether or not their reasons for it are based on religion.

People don't want a theocracy, they want a meocracy.

Kind of like how people argue against gay marriage for religious reasons yet skim over large swathes of the bible dealing with unsavory topics they don't personally subscribe to.

Religion is all well and good y'know, until it's not well and good to you. Then people aren't so supporting of the concept of theocracy.

Either way, all government is evil. It's all just using some system that allows one group of people to own and control another group of people. Until people get the evil concept out of their head(evil concept being the control of other people), nothing will change.

Theocracy
Democracy
Communism
Socialism
Ist
Fist
Controllist

Control is the overwhelming theme of any structure of the state. Consensual isn't a word most people have truly sat down and pondered.

Yes and if there was less government and people were less about using government to force their way on ALL sides ... we wouldn't have this issue.

These two terms in my mind are synonyms: Some sharia..you know who you are.

Others christian fundamentalism.

There is no such thing as "less" government.

It is a cancer that grows until it kills it's host.

I am the theocracy
Says some escaped mental patient
roaming, rambling down the dusty road
his face contorted in pain as he says it again
I am the theocracy
a crazy man rambles down a dirt road
gone crazy after the realization that this was all some twisted joke
all that desperation, the clamoring, the wanting, the needing, none of it mattered
None of it mattered
I am the theocracy

We will all be ruled by the Deiocracy of Jesus the Christ soon enough. Until then, I would like a Randomocracy.
