The Muslims who feel offended by whatever the West does which is supposed to go "against Islam" are welcome to live in their Islamic countries where those rules are strictly obeyed.

You seem to overlook that even though they stay in those nations the west still makes up excuses to attack them. Look at the Muslim nations that are being or have been attacked by the west even though they never attacked the west. the main problem is that religious fanatics are gaining power in governments in the west and they want to bring about the biblical end of times. They care nothing about how many people have to die to bring it about because they believe they will be saved.

The reason I injected the potential False Flag issue into this discussion is because Anjem Choudary has long been suspect of being an Mi5 asset, in the same way Osama Bin Laden was a CIA asset.

Self fulfuilling prophecy. Conspiracists speculate about him being an MI5 agent and then when he spouts forth extremist cr.p, it must be a false flag.

NO. He is an idiot who spouts forth extremist cr.p FULL STOP.

Well, if the original ones were the reason for the shooting, I am sure they will send in a young child with a bomb this time. While I understand that they are showing they are not scared, there is a difference between not being scared and being haphazard....this borders on haphazard. I would imagine the magazine had to get the approval of all staff at the publication prior to putting this cover out this time. If they didn't, I would think that would be a pretty serious misjudging on their part as I am sure many at the magazine are very hesitant to even come to work now.

He haves an inquisitive mind, he shares thoughts and questions, based on experience and knowledge. It helps me to see another angles of humankind behavior. I believe he is a truth seeker, no matter who is going to hurt.

He's been the British media's go to extremist for 25+ years. I remember hearing him on the James Whale radio show back in the late 80's - he's a contradiction and a joke.

Giving publicity to people like Anjem Choudary is the real kicker...

I think people like him come along every decade or so with some sort of Mahdi-Complex...
He hasn't stated as much, but it wouldn't surprised me if he had those feelings.

Is there an article that relates to the cover, or a statement from Hebdo saying that's definitely Muhammad...

I just see a Muslim to be honest.

& all that bulls# aside, I believe Muhammad would be tearful at the acts being committed by people claiming his & Allahs name.

It #ing breaks my heart, I can't imagine how Muhammad would be feeling.

Here is the article with the artists quotes stating that it is Muhammad.

Source

The only idea left was to draw Mohammed, I am Charlie. Then I looked at him, he was crying. Then above, I wrote: “All is forgiven”, and then cried. We had the front page, we had finally found this bloody front page. This was our front page.
This was not the front page the world wanted us to draw, it was our front page.
This is not the front page that the terrorists want us to draw, as there are no terrorists in it, just a man who cries: it’s Mohammed. I am sorry that we drew him again, but the Mohammed we drew is a Mohammed who is crying above all."

Sure… but then why even give Anjem Choudary ink on paper or bits on websites? He's a known terrorist leader, given legitimacy by western media covering his comments. To me, this type of media hype only adds incremental credibility to the speculation that the attacks were some kind of false flag pretext.

is there any evidence of a 'false flag' or just speculation?

give the media a choice between a box marked 'truth' and one marked 'excitement', which one are they interested in?

I have no qualms with this image...
I think it portrays reality.

How anyone can call this an act of war, really must not think much of Muhammad as a man.

They are already planning on more attacks simply for fighting ISIS. All these cartoons are, are an excuse. Need I remind you they are OPENLY threatening every single western country who fights against ISIS in the middle east?

as conveyed by its spokesman, Shaykh Abū Muhammad al-‘Adnānī. “If you can kill a disbelieving American or European – especially the spiteful and filthy French – or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be. Do not ask for anyone’s advice and do not seek anyone’s verdict” [Indeed Your Lord Is Ever Watchful].

There will be others who follow the examples set by Man Haron Monis and Numan Haider in Australia, Martin Couture-Rouleau and Michael Zehaf- Bibeau in Canada, Zale Thompson in America, and Bertrand Nzohabonayo in France, and all that the West will be able to do is to anxiously await the next round of slaughter and then issue the same tired, cliché statements in condemnation of it when it occurs. The Muslims will continue to defy the kāfir war machine, flanking the crusaders on their own streets and bringing the war back to their own soil.

Dabiq, Issue 6; page 4. This issue was released December 30.

Another attack is inevitable, no matter what so long as we stand against them killing anyone they feel like killing anywhere in the world they desire to kill them.

Although, that is not really a choice is it?

Just another excuse to up the ante. Like they needed a cartoon. They get offended by snowmen now.

And we will lose more freedoms.

I am sure the puppeteers are almost orgasmic now.

Could 2015 be the year for the grand finale?

Yeah....it was odd reading his words, because for the first time in a long time, coming from a news site, I could actually feel what he was saying. Very well said.

I am sure plenty of Extremists will be able to justify this as a call for war...

So, we are apparently doomed to duke it out with Islam?
If war it is....nuke em now, nuke em thoroughly, nuke em back to the stone age.....end of problem.....
If islamists want war they can have a BIG slice.....
Theres no turning back from it...Gen Pike had it right on the money.....we are simply waiting for islam to get stronger so both major religions will be wiped out in the fighting.........

ATS… what do you think? Is the west taking the typical opportunist approach and seizing the opportunity to trade liberties for freedom. Or do the rumors of a potential False Flag have merit -- where western governments needed a new excuse to increase police state operations.

Both. Though I think False Flag might be an exaggeration of... "We knew it was coming. We just looked the other way, and let it happen, because it furthers the overrall agenda." imho.

The point your are insinuating is that Christians are gaining power in western nations?

I don't see that, if anything it keeps getting more secular 'appearing'.

I think it only appears that way and that these powers DO follow a higher power, only it isn't Jesus.

I think they have their own end time scenario in mind.

I do believe ALL of it is a grand plan and we, the peons, are not meant to be the victors.

And we will lose more freedoms.

Have you been affected by NSA Spying or the Patriot Act?
Personally I mean, not metaphorically.

To me, and I could well be wrong, it seems the reason for these types of rules isn't to restrict your freedom...
It's to restrict Muslim freedom without just creating Laws for Muslims...
That would be illegal...

So they make it for one and all, but only use it against who they suspect.

I am probably wrong long term, but at the moment not many people have come out and said the PA or NSA have affected them personally...

I think it's just for terror cells for now.

No I haven't personally yet, I also believe it is a little longer plan to affect us all.

Personally I believe each one of these little steps is a journey up to an ultimate plan.

I think we are all being played as pawns in an evil game of cosmic chess.

My initial reaction, as I am sure 'they' wanted, was anger and revenge against the attackers and their ideology.

It takes me time still, I am sad to admit, to step back and see the bigger picture. But I am working on it.
I can understand how all pawns on BOTH sides feed on the hate propagated by TPTB.

The whole mess makes me sad for humanity.
Peace Charlie,
Steve
