I haven't seen mention yet on ATS of this new History Channel production. Apparently produced in Canada, the recent premiere episode was described as follows: "Red Alert - UFO sightings over nuclear facilities trigger high alert responses - are they top-secret aircraft or something from another world?", and featured a pretty comprehensive look at the events at Rendlesham Forest.

Lot's of documentation, witness accounts, but no weasel words or breathless hyperbole, and I look forward to the next episode: "UFO Crash Sites - Roswell is the most famous UFO story in history and a piece of debris found at the desert crash site might shed new light on what really happened in 1947". Donno if this show is available in the US, but as an old UFO enthusiast, it looks pretty good. Seems to have been picked up in the UK as well. Mind you, the TV listings call this 'episode 2'...was the first one disappeared on us?

The only thing I know about this so far, is that
Johnny Canuck seems to be giving it a thumbs up.
That's credibility in my mind. I'll check it out.

I take anything I see on these shows with a large block of salt. With that being said, maybe some govts are thinking it's time to let the truth leak out. We have mountains of evidence, such as pictures, videos and witness statements and the government knows they can't hide it all.

I didn't catch the episode. I have watched a lot of tother Discovery channel series on various UFO subjects… I used to be a big fan so you know.

My conclusion is they are a bunch of distraction designed to enthrall us, but not really lead to anything solid.

For instance, these other shows that cover "underground aliens", lol. Ancient Aliens, Underwater Aliens, Government installation aliens, Nazi aliens, outer space aliens…

All these are easy to cover because there is never going to be any actual proof presentable about these subjects, just conjecture.

Nobody is ever going to get past the gate at Area 51, its military and heavily guarded. The Nazi Reich was pretty much destroyed, the North Pole is too cold, the oceans too deep, other star systems too far away, ancient civilizations can't tell us what the rock drawings mean… etc.

See my point? These are all safe areas to make into mysteries, there is no way to confirm any of the conjecture.

Like Atlantis, The Bermuda triangle, all these are obviously designed to keep our noses buried away from reality. The reality they will never tell us about.

Like I said, I didn't see this new installment. The "new" piece of debris found near Roswell kinda vindicates me, though. How many shows are they going to carry that one with? Digging in the desert for aliens, lol.

Oh, I hear ya! Most of this stuff I just can't watch as it is cartoon quality. Ancient Aliens is first on the list as I also have a small awareness of archaeology. My interest in UFOlogy goes back some 50 years. I recall as a teen writing to Von Braun, himself, asking about the whole thing. Of course, I just got some standard Air Force denial stuff in response...but it shows my pedigree, eh?
I've kept an interest over the years, but most of what's out there is chaff. This show seems to take things more seriously. Of course the question is always 'Why?' Disclosure? Distraction?

There was an actual 'dig' not too long ago. I read the site report and I was not blown away, but maybe something new has come up. Your comment about 'how many shows are they gonna carry that one with?'...well, so far (all one episode - lol) it doesn't seem to be hooey. At least not in the presentation, aside from that typical History Channel way of padding episodes with reviews and previews.

Well, there's talk it already has. How about you check out an episode so that you can add to the conversation? If you're in Canada, it appears to be available from free on line. I look forward to your comments.

Sure thing im not in Canada though, not like theres much of a difference here where I am. Anyways it would be nice if there was a more how should I say proactive role UFO's might take other than turning off nukes. I dunno something like create a new society of enlightened people here and now in our lifetimes with kick ass super powers.

Again, true, but I'm interested in comments from those who have watched at least an episode of this one. I have been avidly watching the Oak Island series, as I have a long-time fascination with the topic. It, however, is cluttered with the standard History Channel weasel words...it is the core story I receiving my attention.

'UFO's Declassified'...again, I have only seen one episode...might just be raising the bar. What stands out to me is the tone. We'll see...

This sounds alot like an episode of another H2 production here in the U.S. which did an episode exactly on the same subject , show is called "Hangar 1 UFO Files", which was interesting. I wonder if this is the Canadian version of same show? Rendlesham Forest was mentioned as was an encounter in the 60's at Malstrom AFB in Montana among others.

Here in the states we have been down that road oft enough already.

One more hour of tv that will lead us to some new thing… almost… then say, stay tuned, when we return from the commercial break…

I stopped tuning in. Thats why I came here. The personal stories from people are a lot more intriguing to me these days.

I have one. Think they'll put it on TV?

If you have a story, you should have posted it by now...like you said, you came here. It's a good venue to share that sort of thing I think one of the keys to this current show - the hook, actually - is the documentary evidence they are presenting.

Back to the personal stories, though, when taken singly it is easy to dismiss them as ravings or lulz, or both. But there is a volume out there that adds to their veracity. I've never seen a UFO, so it is a belief issue. I believe there's something going on, and quite frankly I think it's a combination of 'built-here' and interdimensional. Part of my unified weirdness theory, eh? But when I see a pretty sober treatment of the issue, I'm willing to watch and discuss.

Yes, and we are 'blessed' with most of that American programming as well!

I came here to hear others and try to match up similar experience. I don't care what others think of mine, I have no proof anyway. I came to the internet in general after many years of refusing to even look at it, because I thought by now all the secrets would be out and all the evidence in plain sight.

You know what I discovered? The Internet is as controlled now as the main stream news papers TV and radio was in my day.

By the way, I have shared it and another experience here, just not done threads about it. Bits and pieces, here and there.

Thats the thing though, when you watch these shows, what you see is a bunch of flashy edits and cuts showing some animation, file photos and stock footage (often unrelated) all jumbled together. This is accompanied by "woosh bang zoom" noises as soundtrack and a dialogue that wanders, mostly asking questions in the beginning that are left unanswered at the ending.

If you paid attention you feel swindled. If you have been around as long as I have, you know this right away.

The mainstream media does the same sorts of things when they tell us the news.

Often an agen-dized dialogue or narration is accompanied by file footage thats unrelated, and background shots of politicians speaking with the sound track turned down.

You can see their lips moving but can't hear what they are saying while the announcer talks over them. Often evidence is only, "experts agree" or "official sources say"…

If you watch nature shows that just show footage of animals with dialogue explaining their behavior and discussion trying to understand what animals do, you see the vast difference between the two types of shows.

Animal show-- all footage and interpretation of that. Politics, news and unknowns phenomenon-- all file footage mis interpretation and agenda.

Big difference between the two, and thats how you know.

This is a History Channel production, yes. However, it is not as loaded with the bells and whistles you describe. A certain amount of it was 'recreated', but even that was...shall we say 'restrained'? I've been around enough that I have dropped out of the discussion for a number of years. I had an early interest, as mentioned. I also had daily two hour's free dial-up internet access back when most folks had no idea what Interwebz was. Need I say that I spent a lot of time on Alternet?

I pretty much walked away from the subject wondering not what the UFO phenomenon was, but WHY we were being made to believe in ETs. So as much as it may look like I'm a paid shill for History Channel, I'm just looking for some discussion as to whether or not this particular presentation is...different. And perhaps why?

Did you ever check out Close Encounters by Discovery Canada? It got low viewership because they implied in many episodes that aliens weren't the cause. Wasnt it Rendlesham with the time travel code? And another they implicated demons.

Oak Island fascinated me for many years. I was a part of the original website before. This show is just frustrating more than anything though.

We get Hangar One as well, which is awful. Bunch of people trying to sound intelligent while believing that the Majestic-12 documents were real...
