Store keeper saves customers from assailant, he didn't know they where Jewish, he knew they where customers, stop sensationalizing stuff.

How do you like this little twist, a young black Muslim man working in a Jewish Kosher store, can't make this stuff up. The point is, is not everyone in that store was Jewish and that is proof right there that we don't really know.

Well it said that he saved 6 people. In a Kosher store I'm sure there was a few Jews there. What's the problem? Giving credit to a Muslim for doing the right thing?

I don't have issues with a man saving lives I just don't think the way it is presented here is as honest as it could be. It could have been presented as Man saves 6 in store from hostage taking criminals... Maybe my comment could have been put in with better taste but I certainly don't have any problems with Muslims or Jews

Oh please. Muslims are slammed daily, even moderates. If they are going to take the flack, give them the credit when producing actions that could get themselves killed in the process.

Doesn't matter if he was a Klingon. He HELPED save lives. I don't think he went in the cooler with them. If he did who cares? He still helped.

dude seriously? Your initial submission does not even meet the criteria required for an opening post to breaking alternative news. Frankly it barely makes the cut for a regular topic. Now you want someone else to do the work for you?? Thats just rich.

In any case, the source clearly put that headline to sensationalize and grab attention. Sure it turn out that some of that claim can be considered accurate. But the reality is a Man of principle took a risk and helped 'others' in need during a violent event by terrorists. Nobodys race or religion or ethnic background played any role in this whatsoever. It is only being ran like that in the headline because "Man saves other during crisis" is not going to turn as many heads as "Heroic Muslim man saved Jewish hostages during Paris siege by hiding them in freezer" .

in fact I may even go as far as imply that even that headline instigates Islamaphobia subconsciously by creating the following thought process:
"oh so there is A Muslim in this world that is not all about killing Jews" . That process happens subconsciously without most people knowing it themselves. But it continues to support a false logic in the collective subconscious that overall Muslims hate Jews (clearly false by anyone living in the real world and not in media VR) by emphasizing a sensationalist headline about an isolated incident in which the opposite was true.

I sometimes shop at Kosher stores to buy some meat when there are no available Halal butchers.

If it wasn't a piece of propaganda meant to sway opinions on the radical Islam epidemic why did the author leave out the religion and creed of the people responsible for executing 4 of the 19 hostages?

I eat it all to be honest I don't care who butchered it or blessed it as long as it is tasty and I am neither Jewish or Muslim. It is tragic what those criminals did to those people in that store. I am glad someone did something to help.
