So there were no Communists trying to subvert post WWI europe, before Hitler came to power?

Communists were vying for power in Europe. Part of Hitlers propaganda push was against the communists in his own country fomenting insurrection. It was a volatile time right after the world wide depression of 1929. Lots of radical goings on everywhere during the early '30s.

Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and Japanese militarists all secured their power during the Depression. The communist party was vying for control of the Weimar Republic and Hitlers early Nazi (National Socialist) party in Germany.

The Communist Party continued its steady climb from 77 seats the 1928 election, to 89 in the July 1932 election to 100 in the November one.

Link

That was just before Hitler was made Chancelor of Germany in 1933. He won the battle for control of his country from the communists, by the way. If thats what Ukrainian president is referring to, he's right. Of course he and everyone else with an agenda is going to twist that nowadays into something else.

Namely, Putin has to go…

they did invade and occupy parts of Berlin before the war ended.

Yes.

But sure American way of ending the wars is much better. Just drop nuclear bombs on the innocent civilians.
The first bomb I can call "testing", but the second was clear genocide.

Of course the USSR did invade Germany during WWII.
And of course Nazi-Germany was the agressor before that.

What is unclear about that?

I would like to read a translated transcript of what Yatsenyuk really said.

*If he actually did make revisionist statements on German soil he may have committed a punishable offence LOL.

The Soviets invaded Poland in 1920.
They invaded Poland again in September of 1939, 16 days after the Germans invaded.
The Soviets invaded Finland in 1939, 3 months after WI I began.
They were aggressors.
I have no knowledge that the Soviets invaded Germany at the beginning of WWII.

But trusting a report coming from the Kremlin mouthpiece is better...gotcha.

Also the facts show it happened so you don't have to believe anyone.

Yatsenyuk is a pretty smart politician it seems. He understands the key to beating Russia right now is Germany and the US...in that order. He is simply reminding Germans of how their country was treated by Russia in WWII and the long occupation afterwards. Germans love to forget WWII and need to be reminded sometimes. Merkel understands and doesn't forget...but the German people need more help remembering.

Being German myself let me tell you that we remember very well.

We also remember the Russians were not the only ones who occupied our country after WWII, or comitted atrocities during the turmoils of the second World War.

We also have to deal with the fact that up to this day ~63.000 US soldiers are still stationed here, AND that the US military is conducting violations of international law from within our national territory, acts of industrial espionage against numerous German companies, and acts of mass surveillance against the general German public...

Just saying.

As much as USSR invaded Germany during ww2, so did other allies including Americans.
en.wikipedia.org...

Also I reminded how America effectively brought Japan to capitulation.

All those actions were part of ww2, sorry but America wasn't on other planet during this time.

EDIT - I know this is RT and is a dubious site for accurate news on certain items, but what he is saying cannot be ignored, he is trying to re-write history, the question is why?

But the russians did invade Germany (as did the allies). They were in Berlin BEFORE the end of WWII. In fact the US and UK were still fighting Germans in Germany whilst this happened. Now the war ended pretty soon afterwards and Germany was partitioned by Russia not the West. The partitioning resulted in a wall being built to stop people escaping from a very oppressive state.

That is history, it's in books, it's in the memories of East Germans.

Why are you in denial?

It is you in denial.

The war ended (european front) because Russians occupied Berlin. Are you really that dumb not to understand this ?

Now the war ended pretty soon afterwards and Germany was partitioned by Russia not the West.

And check your textbooks, I think even in Western textbooks it is still a fact that Germany was divided by all allies.
I'm not sure what your textbooks will write in 10 years time with such new generation of educated Brits.

No. But as he putted it it sounded like he said the separation into BRD and DDR was due to a Russian invasion and it wasn't.

And what were russians doing in Berlin when Hitler committed suicide (at least that's what we know)? Why were russians soliders the first to get at the bunker? And how can you say that when is a known fact that Germany split into DDR and BRD due to russians. Berlin was the place where they stopped advancing and that's where the wall was build. If it wasn't for russians, Germany had no reason to be divided.

Really because the Russians were in Germany in April of 1945, yet the Germans didn't finally give up to the Allies until May of 1945...and didn't surrender to Russia until 2 days later.

April 16, 1945
The Soviets launch their final offensive, encircling Berlin.

April 30, 1945
Hitler commits suicide.

May 7, 1945
Germany surrenders to the western Allies.

May 9, 1945
Germany surrenders to the Soviets.

www.ushmm.org...

So it took Germany almost a month before they decided it was over for them...You do know the Germans were fighting the war while Russia occupied Berlin right?

Well they were in Berlin so that shows they had to invade at some time.

And where exactly did I say anything close to that, as I have already asked to show where that was said by me and yet it never was, care to provide that quote for me?

Berlin was the place where they stopped advancing and that's where the wall was build. If it wasn't for russians, Germany had no reason to be divided.

And where did I say it wasn't as this thread is about Russia and invading Germany...which they did, or are you saying Germany invited Russia into Berlin for a game of chess, because once you send armed troops into another country for the sake of overthrowing that country or their government it is an invasion.
