This is different from empty-minded meditation where you're focusing on nothing and "Emptying our mind to the universe", but in this case I'm actively focusing my mind on something. I'm doing this to increase my cognition and health, I have no interest in attaining "enlightenment" or developing esp abilities or communicating with any spirits. But will this still expose me to demonic forces?

No you need to focus on that point and your breathing until you step into the void.

What might want to do is practice guided journeys and create a dream journal. This will enable you to understand the visions you have in these altered states of consciousness.

YOu can really get deep deep just doing this.

Don't fall for all this bull# drama demonic whatever dogma your attaching to these experiences just follow your intuition.

Don't believe that there are "demonic" forces at all, or you may run the risk of experiencing them. Not that there are in fact, demons, just those facsimiles / manifestations of what you believe demons to truly be. We live what we think. JMO..a reply to: Rtardx

Remember YOU or WE give power to these forces.

It is US, YOU or ME.

The demon is you.

Odd Experiences you can get for sure! Demons...ah, never seen it personally.

I had been meditating for long enough...but always sitting. During my first walking meditation I emptied but started asking myself "Am I doing this right?" I guess I said it enough cause I got answered and told yes and what to focus on as I step instead of breath. Then surprise hit me as I realized someone was talking that wasn't 'in the room'. Of course the conversation ended immediately as I was clearly not ready for it at that time. I didn't trip but it took effort not to.

Maintaining your focus is important when guiding. I'd suggest being in a group until experienced enough to not worry.

Good Luck!

I'm good, I know what i need to do get where i want. I'll avoid the void and not focus on the pocus. Empty-minded meditation has its benefits, but focused meditation totally pwns and can get me to my goals faster.

It's not demonic. Your exercising a muscle when you practice meditation.
Is it demonic to lift weights? Like any muscle it gets stronger the more
you work it. Psychic abilities are often a byproduct of meditation. So are
lots of other things like focus, clarity and being centered. It works like
therapy, you are just taking a different path to get there. Sometimes
it can really suck like therapy too.

If you believe in demons then they become real. But, you must have some idea of what a demon is. So, if you've read lots of books, seen lots of movies, that include "demonic" ideas, then all those things can become real in your mind. If you've never seen these things, and have no idea what a demon might be, then it's unlikely you'll ever have a demonic experience.

Meditation, mental focus, concentration, and mindfulness DOES NOT have a correlation with dæmons.

Unmindfulness, ignorance, wickedness, and actively seeking demons does have an association with dæmons.
