UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday that Palestine will join the International Criminal Court on April 1, a high-stakes move that will enable the Palestinians to pursue war-crimes charges against Israel. he Palestinians submitted the documents ratifying the Rome Statute that established the court on Friday, the last formal step to becoming a member of the world’s permanent war crimes tribunal.
The move followed the Palestinians’ failure to win a UN Security Council majority for a resolution imposing a three-year time limit for a full Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
In a statement posted on the UN’s treaty website, the secretary-general said “the statute will enter into force for the State of Palestine on April 1, 2015.” He said he was acting as the “depositary” for the documents of ratification.
We will not let Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers and officers be dragged to the International Criminal Court in The Hague
immediately applied financial pressure on the Palestinian Authority, freezing the transfer of half a billion shekels (over $127 million) in monthly tax revenues it collected on behalf of the Palestinians.
We conveyed to the Israelis that freezing the tax revenues is an action that raises tensions [..] We oppose to any actions that raise tensions and we call on both sides to avoid it.
The US joined the financial pressure on the Palestinian Authority on Monday, when the Obama administration announced a review of America’s annual $440 million aid package to the Palestinians. As AP pointed out, once the Palestinian Authority apply any case against Israel to the International Criminal Court, US financial help to Palestine will cease immediately under American law.
“The decision of the Israeli government to halt the transfer of tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority runs counter to Israel’s obligations under the Paris Protocol [..]” the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, Federica Mogherini, said in a statement published on Tuesday.
EU is providing considerable support, including financial assistance, to ensure the building of the institutions and infrastructure of a future Palestinian State. These achievements should not be put at risk by not meeting obligations regarding the timely and transparent transfer of tax and custom revenues.”

Yeah no.
I don't see any of the existing Israeli power structure, being very much afraid of the UN. Considering they've broken how many resolutions and laws already?
And the response to that has been less than lackluster on the other side.

UN chief says Palestinians to join ICC on April 1

It's good to see that Palestine will be allowed to join the ICC maybe they will finally get some justice. If Israel has a problem with this let them join the ICC and file charges against the Hamas leaders that Israel says commit terrorist acts. Also comments by Netanyahu just shows he doesn't want the Palestinians to have their own state recognized by the UN something his parties charter says must not be allowed. It's funny how people cry about the Hamas charter and how it wants to wipe Israel off the map but says nothing about the Likud charter a party founded by the terrorist Menachem Begin which says the same thing should happen to Palestine.

In reaction to this very welcomed news, Netanyahu said:
We will not let Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers and officers be dragged to the International Criminal Court in The Hague
and, in accordance, Israel did the following:
immediately applied financial pressure on the Palestinian Authority, freezing the transfer of half a billion shekels (over $127 million) in monthly tax revenues it collected on behalf of the Palestinians.

And the big brother US, via State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said:
We conveyed to the Israelis that freezing the tax revenues is an action that raises tensions [..] We oppose to any actions that raise tensions and we call on both sides to avoid it.

But wait, at the same hypocritical time, US Government announces the following:
The US joined the financial pressure on the Palestinian Authority on Monday, when the Obama administration announced a review of America’s annual $440 million aid package to the Palestinians. As AP pointed out, once the Palestinian Authority apply any case against Israel to the International Criminal Court, US financial help to Palestine will cease immediately under American law.
This so amazingly hypocritical!
On the other hand, EU's foreign policy chief called Israel’s move to freeze the transfer of Palestinian tax revenues a violation of the Oslo Accords.
“The decision of the Israeli government to halt the transfer of tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority runs counter to Israel’s obligations under the Paris Protocol [..]” the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, Federica Mogherini, said in a statement published on Tuesday.

So, when the Palestinians get into the ICC, I assume their first point of call will be to drag.......Hamas into it, right?
The 'palestinians' attacked Israel RIGHT off the bat.
1. Extensive use of swastikas, portraits of Hitler and Nazi imagery during the 1936-1939 "Great Arab Revolt" of 1936-1939
2. Al Husseini's close collaboration with Hitler and Eichmann. Al Husseini was one of the originators of the systematic destruction of European Jewry and was a close associate, confidante and advisor to Eichmann. He organized the Bosnian Muslim SS Hanjar divisions that annihilated 90% of Bosnian Jews and persuaded the Axis powers to prevent any Jews leaving Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria diverting hundreds of thousands of Jews to the death camps.
4. the PLO was a brainchild of the KGB working with Nasser
5.Arab hoax "the Zionists stole our land", The Palestinians turned down the opportunity of obtaining a Palestinian State alongside Israel, as they were determined to destroy Israel and replace her with a Judenreihn "Palestine from the river to the sea".
6.The evacuation by Israel of ten thousand Jews from Gaza and the handing over of Gaza over to full Palestinian control led to a renewed war by the Arabs of Gaza against Israel's people sending thousands of rockets into Israel with the aim of killing and maiming Israeli men, women and children.
I urge you to can this phony, popularist Israel's the enemy hookum.

I urge you to stop spreading Israeli propaganda. Palestine had nothing to do with WW2 but you want to cry Nazi to help justify Israel's actions.

A fair rebuke and food for thought.
I shall indeed keep looking into all of this. It's so muddy and distorted that it's hard to get anything! Though your rebukes make sense and I feel that maybe I typed in haste. I've been reading all day and night about this and I can't for the life of me support Israel in their actions. Maybe I needed this slap in the face.
I wont be typing in haste again. that'll teach me. I apologise for my otherwise ignorant comment. Ironic seeing as I justified it as not. A double slap......
