what did my grandmother see?

Nobody believed her at the time but I did... she seemed sincere and she had no reason to lie....... well the story goes like this.. back in the early 90s I was about six I believe it was about 91. My grandfather had a fishing camp in some marsh/swamps known as mirtle grove (I always thought it was murder grove when I was young) to get to the camp u had to drive down a shell road that wined thru the swamps, no street lights. One night the women went to go play bingo while the men filet the fish that we caught. On the way back down that road my grandmother said she seen a half man half goat being wit red glowing eyes eating what looked like a small animal it look up at her when the car passed it was standing in some weeds.

well we have tales of goat men in the swamps. I think it was some sort of demon from another dimension. Everybody made fun of her we made a night out of it. But I believe her she wasn't the type to make things up. When she told everybody to look it ran off just like all animals do. Like how rabbits run off when seen in a car. Don't car if u think it's legit I actually got a life.

the light from the car and Its eyes. U people must never seen animals before while driving. The swamp sits right on side the road. # I'm from the city too but I been in the country.

Yes I have, just not "half human half goat".

Pretty hard to make that out even in headlights. I see you are new here, so try not to take it personal. I'm just asking questions. Was it a goat head with human feet? Or a human head with "goat" feet?

not talking anything personal I don't even know you. It looked like that goatman that the Greeks reported seeing. Head of a goat body and hands of a man. Legs of a goat with halves.

Where was this? What state?... Have you checked with locals to see about any other stories in the area?

We have a local legendary Goatman here in Denton, at Goatman's Bridge. I've heard a movie is coming pretty soon. Cars drive on a new road but they left the road open to foot traffic.

There was a black family that lived at the intersection right closest to the bridge. The man was well loved and did really sell goats. Everyone called him Goatman when he was alive. Long story short the local KKK members tortured and murdered his family after beating him and throwing him off the bridge with a noose. After killing his family the men walked back over the bridge to find a rope but no body. That part of the story is verified as truth and is documented in county records.

Since the event there have been many sightings of The Goatman and his glowing red eyes... Maybe he struck a deal with some dark forces. Goats, and cloven hoofed demons have long been storied. I believe there are some really dark things out there and I know that dark magic and the occult are very real. So I will not be calling your grandmother a liar my friend. I thought the very definition of a criptoid/criptidg/whatever requires that it has not been proven to exist... did you not knkw that, or do you define them by some other description? Let me put this another way... how many cryptozoological species do you know of that exist "in the fossil record"?

If I didn't know any better, I might think that you are the type of person who has no business in this forum, and that you know damn well there is no fossil record of the freaking goatman. I expect better from you than this sort of tomfoolery...

Is she still around to interview her in her own words? Did she say whether the human parts looked human (skin) or were covered in fur..?

I'll add that people see some really strange things... people who are good observers with rational minds... and a "goat-man" has been seen, through the years, by many such people (as well as some looneys, too), I'm sure...

But what I mean is there are more things in heaven and on Earth than exist within any one person's philosophy... to paraphrase a well known writer.

Whether such a thing is a flesh and blood, eating, reproducing, pooping creature remains to be seen... but as far as being "here" at times... yup... happens.

To those sure that it is laughable hooey... I sympathize and applaud the efforts at education and rational thought, which are preferable to idiocy... but such things are experienced... and are (sometimes,rarely) really "there" in some sense, at the least.
