First of all, I understand not all will agree with me, but I do ask to keep your Opinions respectful. I am basing these 21 reasons off of personal
experience as well as facts. I encourage you do your own research, however. I am not a "hater" against meat eaters, as I once did eat meat and
understand your perspectives as well. So, with all that being said:
1. You will feel better! I describe it as being "high" without drugs, and without the highs and lows of drugs, it's just a steady feeling of high
vibrations without dangerous side effects.
2. Will help you quit addictions. This is one from personal experience, but because I feel great all the time know, I no longer crave drugs and can
happily say I'm drug free! This contrasts with the meat eating me, which was addicted to weed, amphetamine (presiciption), nicotine, among other
substances. Again, I'm not saying going vegan will make you sober, but it aided the process for me.
3. Athletic performance will improve. My fastest 5k time as a meat eater was 21:15. My fastest 5k time as a vegan is 19:20, and I'm close to beating
it every time I run! Also, I can go longer and harder on my ordinary work outs.
4. Increased energy. This kind of goes along point 1 and 3, but all throughout the day I feel what I would describe as a caffeine high without any of
the side effects, and I can turn it on and off at will. I work in sales, so the increase in energy has resulted in more commissions as I am more
focused at work!
5. Taste buds improve. This may be another one that's based on my personal experience more so than facts, but because I eat mostly fruits and veggies
( as well as rice and beans, and nuts), I swear to god foods that I once considered "boring" like salads and rice and beans are know ecstatically
delicious! A random side note, but dried figs are like heaven in my mouth, and processed foods such as candies could never even compare to a dried fig
anymore.
6. Skin/ hair / complexion improves. You will start to glow. I had eczema that I think I kicked to the curb with my vegan diet!
7. Stomach shrinks/ feel full faster. This one is based on facts, apparently raw vegans whom eat only fruits and veggies get full faster due to their
stomach shrinking. Some raw vegans eat only once a day instead of 3 times. This equates to spending less money on food, and of course staying lean and
not getting fat. Humans really don't need as much food as we're lead to believe, and going vegan will show you this. Don't be surprised if you get
full after an apple!
8. Karmic benefits. I believe in past lives and reincarnation, and Buddhist even have a belief called "karmic evolution" which intertwines karma and
the evolution of the spirit. It seems plausible then that meat eaters may reincarnate as a cow or pig at a slaughter house in a future life and endure
the torture that your steak did before it died. You are what you eat, right?
9. Relieves depression. Every time I feel down in the dumps, I remind my self that one less chicken, cow, or pig will be slaughtered because of the
choices I make today .
10. Avoid GMOS/ processed foods. Most livestock in the US are fed gmo grains. It moves up the food chain when you eat the cow, hence the GMOS end up
in your diet. As for processed foods, your taste buds will change as I already mentioned and you will crave real food instead of the processed junk. I
haven't eaten bread in weeks, not because it's not Vegan, I just don't crave that processed junk anymore.
11. Helps build discipline. We are a slave to our selves and our urges and we don't even know. If you can consciously control the urge to want to
devour that filet mignon because of ethical/health/spiritual reasons, you better believe that discipline will transfer into other areas of your life
such as waking up earlier, refusing that glass of wine, etc.
12. Save money by not going out to eat. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, but I hardly go out to eat anymore. It's great for my wallet, but
for those who love the social environment if eating out with a friend, this could be devastating. You may succumb to your peers criticism of your
vegan lifestyle and simply revert back to eating meats. Me personally, I go to the supermarket once a week, spend about $55 on groceries for the
entire WEEK, and I'm good to go . If that sounds crazy, remember point 7, you need less food as a vegan.
13. Spiritual benefits. I feel my vibrations increasing almost everyday. My dreams are much more vivid and I now remember them every night. My
meditations are also much more intense. I feel a more profound connection with the most high and all forms of life, including trees!
14. Detox benefits. Apparently, eating only fruits and veggies can assist in detoxing all the poisons you have accumulated in your body over a life
time.
15. Pride of saying " I'm a vegan"! This is a benefit in it self, as not many people can say this!
16. Good for the environment. “[T]hose who claim to care about the well-being of human beings and the preservation of our environment should become
vegetarians for that reason alone. They would thereby increase the amount of grain available to feed people elsewhere, reduce pollution, save water
and energy, and cease contributing to the clearing of forests.…" Peter singer
Enough said.
17. You will love your self more. Your body is a temple. Only the freshest, purest foods need to be eaten. By eating dead foods and processed junks,
you are not loving your self, in fact you are hating your self and keeping yourself here on this lower 3rd dimension. By eating dead carcass, you will
stagnate the process of activating your merkabah and ascending to higher dimensions.
18. You will not look like Ghandi. Two words; hemp protein! There are vegan body builders out there, just to let you know. And for the record, I am in
the best physical shape of my life right now. Can't wait for beach season!
19. You are what you eat. The torture, stress, and hell like conditions the animals endure before they die will rub off on your psyche which will make
you stressed out, worried, crazy, etc. Ever wonder why people are acting all crazy nowadays, killing each other and what now? It may be because the
foods you be eating! The stress of the animals is in the DNA, which you ingest.
20. For the love of the animals. Pigs are smarter than cats and dogs they say, cows are incredibly attentive and loving creatures, it truly is a shame
the hell people put them through. But one person can make a difference, and it starts with you!
21. Illumanati will hate it if you stop eating meats. Illumanati wants you eating meats. Think about it for a second, everywhere you look there
pushing meats down our throats. Commercials on TV? Meat lovers pizza, hamburgers, Murderking, Taco Hell, etc. Hollywood movies we watch, all the main
actors are eating meat! It's mind control. They know the meats traps you in this third dimension, which is what they want. They don't want you to
ascend into higher dimensions, they want to keep you stuck here in the 3D to be there slaves in this hell hole new world order there about to create.
So stick it to the man, and stop eating meats and ascend so you won't have to deal with this junk!
So there you have it, feel free to post your opinions below. I will also post some links if anyone wants to research this any further.
Do you not realize that eating burnt animal parts is one of the most divine pleasures in the world?!?!
On a more serious note, being vegan is a terrible idea. Also, being able to state smugly "I'M VEGAN" is not a benefit. Those of us with healthy,
normal diets, laugh about such foolish attempts at feeling self-absorbed.
ETA: the illuminati? really? You're just being silly now.
edit on 3-1-2015 by theyknowwhoyouare because: (no reason given)
I've had much of the same benefits on a predominantly meat based diet.
Just goes to show some things work for others and some don't. I eat my veges too.
But to each their own of course, i'm glad you found something that works for you. Lots of people never find that and die of obesity.

Man... it's like it's impossible to be a humble vegan or something. The OP wasn't written with any smugness at all and he's just telling us his
experience. I have to hide the fact I don't eat meat because people think I'm being snooty if it comes up.
Do people accuse you of being smug for eating meat? You just told us that you think your diet is healthier than a vegan diet. How is that not smug
but the OP is?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that when you go to eat at a restaurant or someone's house, you have to inquire as to whether there are
non vegan products in the food or maybe you might pitch a fit if someone would dare to feed you veggies that were cooked in a pan that had ever been
used to cook meat before that.
Vegans are special.

It sounds like you know vegans who just happen to also be winy entitled asses. I promise you, veganism and asshattery are mutually exclusive
concepts. I'm only a vegetarian now but, when I was a vegan, I would hide it from people and simply say I wasn't hungry instead of playing 20
questions with the host. I preferred waiting until I got home to raid my fridge in private.
Those people you are thinking of would be snobby about something else if not veganism. Ever met a beer snob or a coffee snob? It's just a
personality type.
Nice thread OP, am happy it works for you. While not a Vegan, vegetarianism works for me.
Want to put special focus on:

Hemp protein is fantastic, implore even non vegetarian/Vegans to check it out and of course those non meat eaters to see it as a better alternative to
falling into the soy and pasta trap.
Well the ones that I knew dressed like bums. They had nothing to be snobby about. Just so into their meat free lifestyle. One had a fit because
someone had cooked meat earlier in the day.... "Even though you knew I was coming over!"

But if someone desires food that is 'Kosher' or won't touch your meat because it isn't 'Halal'
you must respect that yeah?
Go on... go to a muslim/jewish household with your pork sausages and tell them they aren't 'Humble' enough to be as enlightened as you are.
And yes! maybe you are right! maybe vegans are special.
Maybe........ just maybe the sixth commandment isn't absoloute.
Thou shalt not kill.
T&C apply
Ah to hell with it, just satisfy your urges upon the flesh of the slaughtered.
It's only death after all. No big deal, what have you got to lose?
until its your own.
I hate the idea of eating animals. But I do it anyway. Sigh. I really wish I didn't, and you make some excellent points.
Subscribe. I might try to read this often, as a "shot in the arm", as my Aunt Mary might say. Thanks for your thoughts on the subject.
I am glad the OP is not vegan evangelical, fire and brimstone.
I can support most of the ideas behind veganism (sp?). No cruelty to animals, natural diet, etc. All good stuff and we should have more of it. I love
to garden and want to raise my own livestock. I do not like factory farm product.
I cannot support those vegan's who think I am Satan in the flesh because I ate a steak. If all I eat is vegetable matter, I will die of diarrhea.
Just how I am put together.
We all have to eat and for that something has to give. A cow or pig is not designed for just human consumtion, however, nothing is. Not even a grain,
seed or vegetable. If you exist you have to eat and that always means
that something is sacraficed. No matter ones intentions this is an inescapable fact of life. Anyway..
No 17 is why I am here. Whenever I read something like this I have to respond. Please do not fall for the higher
dimension trick. Why would a 'higher' dimension be progress? The higher the dimesnsion, the more restrictions and rules.
The correct way for progress is to move to the 2nd, 1st and then away from dimensions all together.
Simply put - the 4th dimension is the wrong direction.
What matters about food is the subtle energy consumed, but don't make a meal of it it's just another 3d process..so don't go wishing for more
sacrifices.
Maybe not enlightened but you seem to host dinner parties for hoboes/vegans that 'dressed like bums' and are annoyed at the fact that people who are
under/badly dressed have dietary requests and there is some co-relation between the two.
And yes, we all die and humanity strives toward and respects a dignified death that has meaning.
I have no illusions, after my death feel free to strip the bones off my flesh and flip me on a suburban barbecue. I really don't care but most people
see 'dignity' in death.
But usually just their own.
Soylent Green? or a nice two grand casket for your carcass to decay in?
given a choice most will take the latter.
I've been high carb vegan (calories mostly from fruit) now for 6 months and about a month ago i started to feel like i was stuck in some kind of food
matrix. I walk into a supermarket and all i see are pre packed substances masquerading as food designed to fool the senses and make us sick and they
do there job well.
It's not just food that is killing us, we are consuming water that is laden with chemical and dangerous contaminants and paying for the privilege,
were buying chemical ridden "cleaning" products to "wash" our hair/body's/clothes/dishes/etc and all were achieving by all of this is a mass
assault on our body's and making them very sick.
How did this happen, how did we get to this point that we have become so far removed from our-self's that we are completely cutoff from the most
basic intuitions.
I think the truth is we love to hear good things about our bad habits, because of that we will keep consuming these things until it's too late for
most of us, only a few will hear the basic blatant truth, only a few will swallow the red pill.

Did I state that all vegans are smug? No, I was stating the fact that declaring it smugly as the OP suggested was not a benefit due to the fact that
those that smugly declare "I'm a Vegan!!!!!" are just laughed at.
People do process foods differently so being a vegetarian is understandable. Being a vegan is unhealthy though....
