"But But But... The US.... Iraq..... Afghanistan etc etc etc...Russia, just like the US is simply looking out for it's interests"

...and now explain how Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Ukraine have helped to protect American home soil ?

Er, this thread I about the Russian autocracy's continued programme to lock up and silence dissenters. In this case an anti corruption activist, noting that Russia remains one of the most corrupt nations and significantly more unequal than other Western countries, including the US. Something worthy to fight against?

Try to keep it focussed on that. We all know the US makes a pig's ear of things, but that's another thread. It seems to be a habit for some to rant on about America at all opportunities, thus derailing threads.

Regards

The discussion started with me talking about Oleg Navalny and responding to someone about him not being able to be a dubious person, while I gave the argument it wasn`t that far fetched by providing some examples.

After that someone who seems to have a habit to rant on about how America is actual not that bad at all jumped in with something which wasn`t related.

So why not point your post towards the one who was doing that, or did you just want to attack me for pointing out to some things about the whole situation?

Pointing out to related things is now forbidden because it damages the US ?

...you are forgetting one thing, because the US is involved in all these things there`s no other way to discuss it without pointing towards the massive involvement it has in it...so no Freedom of Speech, just "US is good propaganda" is acceptable for you?

Except you seem to forget one thing...

This is about a protest in Moscow, which has nothing to do with the US, but in your mind it is...Amazing.

I just dont understand why some in this thread either support Oleg Navalny and the Pussy Riot Gang. The Pussy Riot haven't done anything for the Russians nor the people living in Moscow.

And yet we have you and a few supporting Putin in the same way...Now what has Putin done lately for the people of Moscow?

Let's see...

Put his military in a position that he has troops dying in a war that shouldn't have happened then lies about it when asked.

Watch the Ruble plummet.

Crackdown and arrest and/or kill those who oppose him.

Allow the neo Nazi's in Russia to run rough shot over the gay and lesbian community.

But all that's okay as long as you can blame the US for everything that happens in Russia...gotcha.

Pussy Riot connections to Soros

Well it is interesting that the main reporting of this comes from RT, which we already know that they do and say what they are told from the Kremlin, so unbiased it isn't.

Also the fact he is copying and pasting from a forum isn't reporting anything except someone else's opinion, so what exactly do you think your link proves?

Do you actually believe the story about the chicken? You are as ignorant of female anatomy as you are about everything else. Incidentally, I am surprised the Mods have let that post stand.

Umm not really, do a bit of reading on the guy he just seems like a sleazy corrupt businessman who failed at life and has now taking to venting against the state.

Apparently, you have been reading State propaganda, rather than the writing of the man himself. Here is a link to the anti-corruption blog that landed him in trouble:

navalny.com...

The Navalnys were charged with misappropriation of funds and fraud, precisely the things Alexey documented against the State. The irony is intentional. Oleg was the one sent to prison in order to send a very clear, Stalinesque message: "We will punish your loved ones for your disloyalty to the state."

The Navalnys are political prisoners. Russia's transformation is complete; Stalinism has returned.

US ordered the troops to try again after the failed attempts a few years ago.

First Obama says flat out it`s attacking Russia economically and now trying for another colour revolution.

Time to make some popcorn.

What does Obama have to do.with Putin's Show Trial? Have you lost your grip on reality altogether?

Russia Beyond The Headlines has taken an article about the Navalny affair off line. New Year's Eve is Russia's big "party night." Things may get crazy in a few hours.

There has probably been more violence and arrests of people protesting pipelines in Canada this year than Russia has.

More than 100 people were arrested, nearly all of whom faced civil contempt proceedings for violating a court injunction ordering them to keep away from two drilling sites.

Are we talking about Harpers (or Christy Clark) days being numbered?
