I dont know whether or not I reduce noise eenough.. but I still Always end up with too much artifact..

I do Control - Shift - Alt - E which gives a composite, then paint white over any artifacts I want to remove.. its the only way I have found to get rid of all the extra..

The only problem I have found though with using that as your base for a cartoon, is that its not see through.. ie: you cant have your color layer under it to go back and forth with to do color matches during painting..

Every picture is different, i suggest not to remove too much noise, i have seen that just a tad is better than smudging out all lines with it. When you adjust levels keep in mind that it will bring back some of the noise. Notice when you make adjustment layers it automatically makes layer mask, you can use that layer mask to reduce your noise using black brush low hardness and opacity down to 50 or so.
That outlines picture is a guide to make paths with pen tool... when you make a path open path tab and left click stroke path when it makes nice outline.. fill path instead fills the area inside path lines with color.

Keep outlines ( made with stroke path ) and all different colors as separate layers.
These layers are base and finishing touches are shading, details and so on...

Thank you for the advice.. my problem then at this point is one.. I cannot use the pen tool.. every time I try to use it I have problems, it either wont follow the curve the way I want it to, or it makes a hook area when I connect anchor points..

the only way I have found to use the pen tool is to blow up the image and do literally hundreds of anchor points.. and that is a pain..

I know people use the pen tool, but I haven't found the right way to make it work for me!

You avoid the hook by lining up the adjustment correctly. You can also go back and move those anchor points once you are done, and fine tune it.

Don't let me kid you...i am far from proficient. But I had an "a-ha" moment a few nights ago that have made me improve quite a bit rather quickly.

I say that to say: play more, you'll eventually get to an exponential growth curve in your learning.

When i get all basic puzzle pieces together.. render lights.. propably will finish this tomorrow. Need to do some gardening today..

Hey everyone. Amazing artwork. I had a lot of fun looking through this thread. I was wondering if anyone could create a Leo avatar for me. I associate with My sign a lot and would love something I feel represents me. I'm Male and I'm into spirituality, music, cars, long drives to scenic destinations, mystery and life . Also I like the color purple if that helps. I know its a lot to ask but I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Wait a minute though for a moderator to say whether or not that will be okay here.. they get picky weird sometimes about stuff..

Nice work Temp and Cody. Good concept.
What I am looking for is old world, pen on parchment like work. You should smell leather just from looking at it. A sophisticated, and easy on the eyes, figure of woman. If we have to dress her in tights to meet ATS standards, well ok. I am not after nudity, but I don't find it distasteful in art. Perhaps a stylized figure of a woman similar to the voyager 1 plaque, but set in the Vitruvian man pose.

Drape a robe OB,

Just to be safe, no doubt BFFT will be along or maybe Zarni is looking in. They can advise, I'm no prude, you know that, but I'd say against T&C's. But that's just a guess.
