That is an interesting observation,
werewolf99.
Don’t know that I had ever heard/read “behind every great fortune lies a great crime”…but, with regard to what I see, daily, it could well be
true.
If a dynasty –(
such as your example – “the Kennedy’s in America”)– were proven to have attained their/its wealth by
other-than-honorable/lawful means, how would such a law be applied?
Would it affect all wealth from the moment/date of infraction…? (
which might be classified under ‘compensatory’ damages)
…all wealth including any acquired prior to said infraction (
…as “punitive damages”)…?
In any case, there are victims of the crimes…and, in cases that have grown into multi-generational ‘empires’…multiple generations & branches
of victims, as well.
Is there a statute of limitations that would exonerate families/empires for the crimes that put them in position to write such a law…thus ensuring
their perpetuating strangleholds on everyone else?
