It has been said that behind every great fortune lies a great crime. If you look at some dynasties this is certainly true: such as the Kennedy's in America. But what has been introduced in the UK is something called the proceeds of crime act: this means that people can lose the money and any money made from the money from crime. Since this has been introduced the decline in social mobility has been substantial. I believe that the reason for this is because in many cases large amounts of social mobility are have really been about people profiting from crime, and this leaves us with the situation where social mobility has declines greatly. Don't get me wrong the removal of criminals being able to always profit from crime is a good thing and means that the true situation where by most people regardless of hard work or intelligence have bugger all chance of greatly moving up has finally been revealed. Now what do we do?

It is patently obvious to those on the bottom of the ladder that the money system has evolved to serve those with the money.....
A good top to bottom scrub of the social register may have some beneficial results in the short term,....but a complete re evaluation of the concept of wealth, power, and the acquisition of them is in order......
The rich have squirrelled away enough trillions to revamp the entire earth for mankinds benefit....I think it is time they damn well donated it to the cause.....
or be forced to....
Things like peerages, nobility, king queens and potentates have got to go......
The banking system needs to be plundered of its illegal profits and the benefits of these must be evenly distributed to all......
Though money itself is a failed concept....

That is an interesting observation, werewolf99.
Don’t know that I had ever heard/read “behind every great fortune lies a great crime”…but, with regard to what I see, daily, it could well be true.

If a dynasty –(such as your example – “the Kennedy’s in America”)– were proven to have attained their/its wealth by other-than-honorable/lawful means, how would such a law be applied?

Would it affect all wealth from the moment/date of infraction…? (which might be classified under ‘compensatory’ damages)
…all wealth including any acquired prior to said infraction (…as “punitive damages”)…?

In any case, there are victims of the crimes…and, in cases that have grown into multi-generational ‘empires’…multiple generations & branches of victims, as well.

Is there a statute of limitations that would exonerate families/empires for the crimes that put them in position to write such a law…thus ensuring their perpetuating strangleholds on everyone else?

I do believe that the proceeds of crime act has revealed that what many people mistook for normal social mobility was in fact successful criminals beating the system: the problem is there are the very people we cannot afford to beat the system. But it isn't just about the money, these people control the education system, law and order (such as it is), and also are those that hand out cash supposedly to be ours and to be spent for our benefit: which they in some way or another give to each other.

We need to re-establish collective and individual freedom, because people have lost both.

In the UK the proceeds of crime act applies until the individual which did the crimes death upon which the money is legal again and the family can do what they want with it. But it would be a good idea to extend it forwards for those that have wealth that originally came from crime, but this would never happen because it would affect the rich dynasties because crime if at least partly how their money was made.

I'm all for a reset but the "awakening" is manufactured to create a huge revolution imo. They want us to not only look at Justin Bieber but they want us to "wake up" and see the flaws of the system (which there are many) so people demand change. The solution will undoubtedly be introduced by those who have always been in power. I want change but the results may not be favorable in the long run.

Thanks for the answer/s.
If that is the case, then, I'm with stirling... Scratch the game - Redress the notion of "money" - Start Anew.

I suppose when money was gold or silver at least the money you had didn't lose money and all you needed to do was build up a lot of money where as now the game is different. OK so having money as gold and silver didn't necessarily help or hinder social mobility but at least it didn't add another problem for people. If you save your money now all you have is loss making pieces of paper.

It never ceases to amaze our blind faith in a fiat monetary system.

Merriam-Webster defines fiat money as money (as paper currency) not convertible into coin or specie of equivalent value.

The whole system is skewed to benefit a small group of families of dubious character.

If the world can accept this inequitable illusion why not a system where everyone benefits (Bitcoin?)?

I can't shake the feeling that there are unknown forces in this world intent on keeping a status quo of war, poverty and suffering.

Money's a total sham. It's just to keep us in line. To me no matter how rich you are, you're a peasant unless you're in that small group of families you mentioned. We're all chattel and slaves, despite some looking like they're kings of the world because they can buy the most junk.

Man, don't get me wrong ...but people in power ain't interested in helping us.
People in power want one thing = more power. Because the purpose of power is power..:havent you read 1984 or What ?!

People in power will profit out of our suffering 'till the very last quid, 'till the very last drop of our blood.

Regardig the revolution, we are at the breaking point...
If not us, then Nobody.
If not now, then Never.

No I don't mean the system will come out with a solution that will help mankind. I mean when people flip out the system will undoubtedly be overhauled or changed completely and people hope something better will come out of it. But, I believe if something "better" comes out of it, it won't be a victory for the people because it will be oppression nevertheless, created and introduced by the same rulers who control governments.

For instance if wealth is distributed, a big if, many will feel it's a huge victory. But the people who've controlled everything will continue to sit behind the scenes and run the show.

If they were to try this in America it would take 100 years just to unravel the crime and the financials that go with it.
Add another 100 years to get past the army of lawyers they can afford.

In short, if a revolution ends with a "victory" for the people it will be more nonsense created by TPTB.

Some families are in the position that they own everything: as families. This means that for them there is no risk at all. But you cannot get rich owning part of everything: so it doesn't help us: but it is a great way to stay rich when you are that rich. We can only hope to get rich by trying out luck at something much smaller that the whole, but people rarely beat the house odds, and so eventually you lose or get lucky for a bit and then have to cash out without ever getting really luck. There just isn't any way to completely win if you weren't born winning anyway: owning everything. The only chance is for talent and a vast amount of good luck and keep on going and being lucky enough to keep winning and hope that the powerful very small class won't just stop you, and so get your children to become those you worked against, and end up marrying into the powerful to keep their estates in tact.

The odds of this however are very very small, or you could look forward to the better odds of the collapse of civilization entirely, in which case your life will probably be awful anyway.

This is a game we cannot win.
