We are not a meat suit long term, that is clear. But if we aren't that, then what are we? And for how long?

Meat suit...what a horrible way to consider oneself. If that's how one constantly considers himself, it's no wonder one must invent and dream up more romantic notions to describe himself—"higher beings", "spirits", and other such nonsense—just so that one may stand the sight of himself when he looks in the mirror.

I consider this life and any others I've lived to be an addition to what I really am. I believe we are sparks of GOD, one drop of the ocean that is GOD. Though BEING of the level of GOD is deep inside and ALL the way up top, I think before coming into this session we are the oversoul, and all our lives are a little like polyps of coral.

Lately I've been asking myself, "who ARE you?" In question to the me before coming into this session (this individual life and/or the cycle of reincarnation.) Haven't come up with an answer yet, but I'm beginning to form a theory for myself.

And I don't know for how long this 3rd dimensional Earth reality will last, perhaps Forever; this current phase that we are going through however I believe will be over 'very' soon.

You never see yourself!!
When looking in a mirror an image is seen - you never ever see what is actually looking!

Well technically were a water suit, not necessarily a meat suit, since technically you know the human body is somewhere around 65% water... Just saying.

As for you higher self? Oh ya I talk to my higher self all the time, its easy anybody can do it, its about as easy as baking a pie with a blindfold on, and using your left leg only, while hoping in circles and singing a song, with two hands tied behind you back. What I am saying it can be done.

One thing I have found out though, my higher self is just as much an asshole as I am, only on much higher vibrational levels, like some sort of godly higher assholishy being. So you know! Go figure.

Meat suit? But that's what we carry through 3D. My meat suit is flopping more and more as I age. I wish to thank it for taking me through 65 years, but I won't cry any tears when I am no longer connected to it.

You see yourself every single time you look in the mirror. You can also smell, hear and touch yourself. Go ahead and try it.

no there is no little being in your head looking at images.

Your meat suit is draped over what exactly? Nothing at all.

But I suppose one might call himself a meat suit when he looks and finds he never wore it properly.

"Meat suit" is a derogatory term used by robots/cyborgs in sci-fi novel. In reality this "meat suit" is also you and thinking of it this way sounds like depersonalization.

I understand where you get this view from, but even if you are into spirituality, never forget your body is also the temple of your soul. Temple, not meatsuit. The body is sacred.

Now if you really think (like gnostics) you are nothing but a soul "trapped" in this reality and that everything happening in 3D is just fake and/or illusion and only the spiritual realms are real, you might as well drink your kool-aid today and I will not miss you.

Is your self-consciousness you?
Are your thoughts you?
Is your brain you?
Are your limbs you?

All of these are you, and not just one or the other depending on how you feel.

If your body dies and your spirit hypothetically continues to lurk around, it wouldn't be you as you are now, only an aspect of you.

We are complex systems, to think we can reduce our identity to one single components like "the soul" or "the consciousness" is too simplistic.

You have never actually seen your face! The image seen in the mirror is not your face - it is a mirror image, it is round the other way. And even a photo of your face is not your face - it is a photo.

no there is no little being in your head looking at images.

no - I never said there was.

Are you who you seem to be in the life you are living? Or could it be possible that you are one of many beings living in time with the higher self being the source of all these "beings"?

I am one being. I am choosing my path one decision at a time. Don't call me a meat suit either.

Someone else touching their higher self might be into you but in reality It makes for a "dear god I attract the crazies" vibe for some of us.

So what? Sure, yeah, it is a reflection of my face. That is why we have mirrors. It is not a reflection of someone else's face.

what are you on about?

A mirror was invented for one purpose. To reflect the image in front of it. If it's my face it is reflecting, then IT IS MY FACE IN THE REFLECTION. Same with a picture. Those two points are not even ARGUABLE. That is what a mirror and a picture of me are all about. Showing me what I look like.

Now if your argument is that the reflection or the picture are not my true self, then you have to prove or speculate that there is something inside of each one of us that can't be seen by the naked eye.

If that is your thought train, good luck because you will not be able to prove any of it. Most folks I know that experience a higher self are high from psychotropic drugs.....and once they come down......back to life....back to reality.

You are what you look like. Look at your hand. Is that not the hand of "THAT which thinks knows I am?"

I urge you and wdkirk to watch and listen carefully to the video and then you may see from a different perspective. I welcome your comments on the video.
Here is a much shorter video for those who feel 12 mins is too long.....

This is what I think

I do not believe I am merely the body I inhabit
I do not believe my thoughts originate in my brain

I believe I am a soul who inhabits my temporary body which enables me to interact and fulfil or not my individual purpose for being on Earth ... and that I will exist after I leave my body

Must you get someone else to speak for you? If you understand your concepts, surely you can defend them.

Unfortunately, I must at least appear as if I'm working. Watching a video will ruin that charade.

Douglas Harding explains beautifully and it would take forever to actually write how I see it - if you don't want to take a look you won't - just sharing a way for one to have a look to see who one is deep down, as in the title of the thread.
