I don't see too many "change overs".

I would agree, Dish has a rather loyal customer base, and they really are the more reasonably priced provider when it comes to satellite, and their DVR's are boss.

You know there are other channels on there than just FN, right? The most popular package comes with over 150 channels. Secondly, while FN has the most popular news programming, what percentage of the whole TV market do they hold? Looks to me that DTV has the leverage here. I don't see too many "change overs".

No it will not be massive but the timing of holiday will strain them more than expected. I do not see many half days on christmas eve.

Liberal Media strikes again, this time dumping Fox News & Fox Business over a 'contract dispute'

This has nothing to do with "Liberal Media". This is between "Fox News" and "Dish Network". Neither of which is "Liberal Media".

But nice try though.

Of course, Dish says its over increased fees over their other channels.

Which is most likely true since it would hurt Dish Networks business by not having Fox News in their list of channels and they will lose customers over it.

Now I know all you libs here on ATS will say good, theyre are right wing, a gossip channel, whatever. EVERY SIDE has to be allowed to give their side of the story. I DO NOT like having only ONE SIDE to the story.

Personally I hate fox and you're right, it is gossip news. But that's just me and if others like it, more power to them. However, like Fox which is anything but "Fair and Balanced" you automatically jump to the conclusion that it must be the Left to blame even when that makes no sense to say that.

It sounds to me like Fox is just being greedy and trying to pull a fast one with their contract agreement with Dish. Why is it that you don't see that as a possible reason for this???

I'm glad I have Time Warner Cable, where you can still watch Fox, and Direct TV still carries it

Yes, having choices is nice!!!

All the more reason why it makes more sense that Dish wouldn't want to remove Fox from their listing if they didn't have to.

Last month it was CNN and the Cartoon Network. And before that CBS. And Directv loves to tangle with Viacom. Yeah, damn that liberal media. Where's the eyeroll thingy?

Social media wars don't bother me much. Very little loss of life or even keyboards.

lol and FOX replies that they are just trying to pay for the increases in healthcare fees because of the repercussions of obama care

Well, FOX supports unlimited corporate contributions to politicians and that is exactly what the insurance industry did with Obamacare and now they want to complain about it?

They are part of the PROBLEM.

heck, MSNBC isn't even all that left-wing, their just anti-republican.

that's literally it, they're anti-republican and anti-whatever republican-talking-points are.

I find it full of libertarian, champaign liberal, and other nonsense.

Fox news makes me want to strangle the anchors for being such shills, and not even pretending to be critical thinkers.

Dish is crap anyway. There is the news which is basically opinion pieces, shopping and infomercials and reruns of the same shows over and over.

Of course a person can shell out a bunch more money to get movies, which is the whole point of the trash and reruns, to make people buy movies. But then those rerun.

Nothing like paying to watch commercials. Who didn't think the start up idea of pay TV without commercials wasn't a lie anyway.

FOX will be back, just like all the others. 50% to 60% commercials with the rest of the time opinion about the 30 seconds of an event footage.

It is true they did drop Fox News. They substituted The Blaze in for a short time. I assume Fox News will be back in a short period of time. Fox does not want to miss out on ratings.

Dish Network drops channels during contract disputes all the time. There are plenty of cases of liberal bias in the media, but this isn't one of them. This is all about money.

If the past is any indicator, it'll be back on by the end of the month.

They put "The Blaze" on in place of Fox News.

I have seen two camera porn shoots with better Production.

I hope they don't think that is some kind of seamless transition.

I would rather go to the Zoo and watch Monkey's have a crap fight all day.

Than watch Glen Beck or this Network.

Does Dish have One America News? (or whatever it's called). That's a conservative news network.

I dunno, you'd think conservative people wouldn't be upset -- it's capitalism at work!

Not sure which part of this is more irritating, that FOX and DISH are battling over millions of dollars worth of crap, or that FOXnews is a big enough draw to make it a bargaining chip.

Like many here, I watch Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc regularly. We absorb news from multiple sources, trace facts, and come to our own conclusions. I don't have DISH, I piggyback my cable (internet app) off of my father's cable since I can't really get too much U.S. TV in Japan.

But I like to watch Fox. It's good to get multiple angles on any one story.

Well, according to conservative media, conservatives are the most persecuted segment of society. Many buy into that. Kind of ironic that it comes up here.

You'd be better off following a couple of good twitter feeds than watching anything on television.

I haven't turned on a television since the Clinton Administration, and I'm doing just fine.

Well, I didn't label anyone anything, and I don't appreciate the implication that I did.

I apologize if I took the incorrect meaning from your post. Most who rail on Fox News do so because they believe anyone who watches it must be some raving neo-con. If that was not your intent I wholeheartedly apologize.

This shouldn't be a liberal vs Conservative thing.

Fox news is awful. Period. Hannity? He's a whiner...just watch him for five minutes. All he does is complain about stuff. If he was in the military, he'd be demoted. If he was in management, he'd be fired. Ann Coulter? She's one of the nastiest human beings I've ever seen. She should move to North Korea. Bill O'Rielly? He's such a blowhard. He just loves the sound of his own voice. There is no news on Fox news. I don't watch MSNBC and Huff post is an online propaganda Machine, countered by Breitbart and all those buffoons. Getting rid of fox news is good. Tune into BBC or the Wall Street Journal or anything.
