Recently I've noticed a severe lack of content on Netflix streaming service lately. TV shows with missing seasons that pretty much never get added. They also do things like remove season one but keep season 2. Sequels to movies but not the origonal movie, and allot of cheap rippoffs of movies like battleship and transformers. (Example: transmorphers & american warships)

This seems to be because netflix is waisting more than they can make on origonal content (netflix origonals) Some netflix origonals set the company back $200 million to close to $1 billion basically abandoning us who are waiting for the rest of a show and or a movie trilogy's that we actualy care about.

Most people don't sign up to watch a netflix originals, they sign up to wach a good show that has been on TV before or a blockbuster hit movie. I seiriously hope netflix changes their current ways of spending money and focus souly on getting what's on DVD on they're streaming service.

Another issue I've noticed is the versions of most of the shows that were broadcasted on TV are edited on Netflix. They cut scenes out and change the music in some scenes. Netflix never taxes the time or spend the money to get the official unedited versions. Also some content like movies are cropped and they never seem to care enough to fix it. Seems there's a severe lack of quality control on Netflix.

Because of all these problems im seiriously thinking of switching to Amazon prime. At least that way I can get allot of good solid TV shows and movies & free 2 day shipping on most items & its a yearly fee vs a monthly fee.

I was a loyal member of Netflix for about 7 years. When they kept messing with their pricing, I suffered through it, like a good little soldier.

That is, until about 3 years ago, when they hiked prices twice, and then tried to split their services, in the span of 5 months, with no increase content, or improvement of quality of service. That's when I dropped them, and to be honest, I haven't missed them at all.

As a member, you should feel free to complain to them directly, but as Reed Hastings has shown repeatedly, he doesn't give a rat's furry ass if members are unhappy. Why? Well when they lost 800,000 subscribers in a single quarter, he referred to those people as "a small subset of our subscriber base".

They just don't care about their members, and it shows.

We got rid of netflix a long time ago. Got rid of cable also.

We buy cheap movies, rent them from redbox or get the half off discount from the movie store.

Netflix content has always been lacking in my opinion.

I also wait until the movie store sells their copies. 5 blue ray movies for $10 or 10 DVD's for $10.

Screw the crazy bills.

I used to have Netflix streaming but was completely unsatisfied. I switched to their dvd service and have been pretty happy with that, their availability and shipping is good.

I was very disappointed with Netflix when I first subscribed, everyone was telling me how great it was, when really it wasn't very good at all

I use towatch a lot of netflix a lot in the past but recently haven't had time and having moved was thinking of getting it again. So I am very glad for your post and will think again.

We went onto sky recently but I feel bad about the numnber of repeats they do. I can't face 3k a year for tv and movies and watch more the news channels and few regulars the family watch but I think I am being taken a bit for a mug because those repeats are soooo repeated, we could all get up and join in.

I think we need fresh brains and a new approach to running the tv channels as who does it now is just past it and merely making money for old rope.

its annoying.
part 2-3 of a movie but not part 1.

i still think it is worth it. 10 bones a month and 99%of the time its only on cause my daughter is watching kids #.

even when they add new content i have already seen most of it.
big downloader.

every not and then though i want something on in the background at night or something so i put on one of their second rate thrillers.
they have a pretty good tv section.
all seasons of weeds and other cool ones.
pretty good documentary section.

next june crouching tiger hidden dragon 2 will be the first movies to skip theaters and blu ray and be released on netflix. pretty excited about that.
im sure other movies will follow that path.

some of the netflix originals are pretty good.
orange is the new black and house of cards for example.

what i like about the originals is when the new season comes out, its the entire season all at one. no waiting for a new episode.

Wow...people still pay to watch movies and series? Like we ain't getting ripped off enough by the beast.
Popcorn time and XBMC does the trick for me. They should pay me

I had netflix long ago when my ex gf wanted it....i wasn't impressed...especially when most tv shows can be found for free at their own website a week or 2 after its airing. If you don't mind waiting just go watch it there for free. And there are certainly plenty of sites out there that have older movies for free...even youtube has some great classics.

I have Amazon Prime and it is okay. The two day shipping is the best part.

That being said, if you are wanting to replace Netflix with it I think you will be disapointed.

IMO Netflix has way more content available in regards to streaming.

I was thinking the same thing, but hesitant to post the "alternative" streaming options, anyone who looks around will figure it out though. I haven't heard of XBMC, checking it out now.

I was thinking of switching to prime. They may not have the same amount of content but what I've experienced in the free trial was much better streaming quality (no edits or missing seasons) also if I wanted more I can just pay for more to keep on Amazon video. Just wish their streaming app for video game consoles were better. Compared to the console app for netflix the Amazon app is pretty slow and navigation is a bit tedious but they make up for it in content

Amazon prime has the upper hand in quality but if they had more than netflix I would without a doubt 100% switch to Amazon prime. Amazon prime is literaly $3.12 more than netflix (if Amazon charged monthly)

I did the math and if netflix charged yearly at their current membership fee of $7.99 a month ads up to $95.88 vs Amazon primes $99 a year. This proves netflix could be a better streaming service but would rather waste money on Netflix origonals instead of adding more titles on streaming.

Loved having Netflix until they canceled my account roughly three years ago because I wasn't a citizen of the United States of America.

I have lived in the USA my entire life, nor have I ever traveled "over the sea".

Haha...it was probably that hide-my-ass VPN service showing your IP in China like mine sometimes did.

I like Amazon Prime best. Netflix is okay. Hulu is the worst.
