What intelligent discourse is there? You just rabbiting what some one else said that the first lady lied. I looked at The People story, the Target encounter rings true with what she said on Letterman. The People carefully segregate her story about the Target encounter from the main body of the rest, However the headline covers all the text within it. That's a typical hack at work. AKA deceptive, you see it all the time. Nobody wants to analyse how Mags present things first..they just cut to the juicy bits..as you did, from someone else's webpage.

Don't you get it? It's because Michelle Obama is black! Nevermind that this woman who asked for her help didn't actually fear Michelle Obama, a black woman, like the media would have you believe (that all whites fear all blacks).

Michelle Obama is offended because she was asked to do a favor because she is black . . . . . (never mind the fact that she is actually pretty tall (She's 5'11) )

She would have also been offended if that woman had NOT ASKED HER and tried and struggled to get it herself because in that case she would have "feared" Michelle Obama because she was black. There is no way around it with these race-baiters.

I'm 6'2, and I'm lucky to go 3 days without some random person asking my help to reach something on a shelf, be it at Barnes and Noble, the grocery store, or at school.

She would have taken offense in either situation.

I'm sure lots of people have problems getting jobs. Did I say otherwise? I'd imagine that it would be more a reflection of ignorance to be on an Internet forum trying to blame it on some imaginary black privilege.

What do you have against treating white people with the same respect you would treat any other group of people? Making an assumption that a white person is a racist because they asked you for help is the ultimate irony.

The ultimate irony is that you're admonishing me for things I've never said. As far as I can tell, Michelle Obama didn't say that either.

Mrs. Obama isn't complaining about some short customer asking her to get something down for her because she can reach it.

She's complaining that nobody else even approached her - no staff came to ask assistance. I used to work at Target once upon a time - team members (employees) are expected to ask guests (aka customers) if they need help. Heck, nobody recognized her, even though she wasn't incognito and the trip was a bit publicized - photographs and all.

This is why people keep trying to point at the title of the People article - they're trying to link what the title says to the one person she interacted with.

The topic was brought up in an interview with People Magazine...The topic was Obama and her husband being on the receiving end of racism during their life...This was one of the examples M. Obama used to show she was a victim of racism...

AGAIN, I refer to the actual title of the PEOPLE interview:

So you are saying the PEOPLE magazine is characterizing it as a racist event - NOT Mrs. Obama.

Michelle Obama is not PEOPLE magazine. She has apparently related an anecdote and you have no idea the context which brought up the story during the interview. You are just assuming that because a PEOPLE magazine sub-editor attached a story title that contained the word 'racism' that Mrs. Obama was talking about racism and nothing about racism the entire time.

If that title is characterizing that incident as a racist incident, then it is PEOPLE magazine that is doing the characterization, not Mrs. Obama.

Who goes to Target for laundry detergent? Lol...

Also to note, I stopped shopping at Target when I read the fouled up anti Veterans stuff against them a few years back here on ATS. Shame on Target!!!
