Does President Bush use a Double

Just did a quick Google on this topic and did not find "anything" of substance..

As President Bush is such an important man, do you think he will ever use a double for security reasons (like Saddam apparently did regularly - there are rumours that the real Saddam has not been found - its another "double" cover-up)?

I know there are people that look a lot like him, but does he (or his administration) make use of them?

Maybe he is a robot and doesn't need a double. Otherwise I'm sure it would be possible for him to have a double, It wouldn't suprise me.

I've wondered this as well. Does anyone know of doubles being used in the past? (For U.S. Presidents)

I don't know about doubles, but there are rumors he might use holographs.

That's interesting. How would this look on camera? I know the movies make them look real, but have you ever seen a computer monitor on film? Wouldn't a holograph do the same?

Seems the holograph/hologram technology would show up on film in the editing process (layering). So, I would think that a hologram could be used for a 'live' visual. However, I don't belive it would be possible for a camera to pick up on this. (Not without lots of editing.) I may be wrong, but does 'make sense'. So, when the President gives live speeches and appearances I can't imagine the use of a hologram. When he gives speeches from the Oval Office, or from the "Ranch" maybe the use would be better suited. Make him seem to be in one place, while actually in another.

I want to know in all honesty given the political atmosphere and conspiracy topics on ATS, Why do you care? Not just why, but what would you do with the information?

Seriously, kind of a scary thing to ask.

It seems like using a double or a simulation would be difficult and risk detection.

What would be the purpose? So he can watch TV and eat pretzels while someone else gives the speech?

I suspect that security around the President is such that if the Secret Service doesn't think an environment can be rendered safe the President just doesn't attend that event.

For situations like throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game, I'm sure there's a security agent in every nook and cranny of the stadium.

I think they did take his DNA and it was the same as that of his Sons so that theory was proven wrong, well that is unless someone lied

My guess would be "Yes, he uses doubles." But it's nothing to worry about. Doubles, as I'm led to understand, are a common item among high profile figures. It makes them harder to assassinate, and allows for the real one to relax in a schedule packed beyond busy.

For a good example of using a double, check out the movie "Dave".

Hmmm, Sadam Hussein is a tad bit different than Bush. Saddam was paranoid and stopped at no length to insure that he would "always" be the man, which meant killing any opposing party members, writters, or anyone who just made him feel uneasy. He was very paranoid. Maybe if Bush had had Kerry thrown in jail before the elections, shot Edwards, and placed other presidential candidates in a "gulag", then it would be ok to assert the question "Does he have a double?"

Why on earth would it be a scary thing to ask ? I am genuinely only curios and ATS is the perfect place to ask such an "innocent" question. Perhaps someone out their knows and are willing to tell. Surely other people has wondered about this as well.

For all we know the great powers to be are cloning themselves and feeding their brothers on super growth stimulants to be able to have "doubles" when needed...

When you see a comp monitor on film it's the refresh rate that you see

so unless a holograph refreshes 'x' ammount of times per minute, with x being a number low enough to be visibile to the human eye, then i guess it's a possibility

I am laughing so hard that I'm crying right now. No disrespect meant to you, TA. It's just that I've heard this same rumor before. The ability of the human mind to come up with such theories never ceases to amaze me.

Back to topic, I doubt he uses doubles on a normal basis. Quite possibly there are instances where they might be used in times of a national security emergency, though.

I can't think of a reason he would use them under normal circumstances.

Does GWB use doubles ?

I always heard he was a shape shifting reptoid ( don't need doubles any one of them can take his place, at any time )

That might also explain the "bludge" in the back of his jacket during the debates
