You're arguing aesthetics for the concept of "smart phone glasses". Google glass is pretty much the same thing. It may not be as high tech as you are thinking or look EXACTLY like what you dreamt, but it's the same idea.

Remind me not to ever post my meditation visions, they may be "debunked" lol. You never said they are predictions. I enjoyed them, but the spirituality machine made me laugh.

No, just no. You can't do total virtual reality immersion in a small ugly glass at the corner of your eye. They were goggles that cover all of your vision, and actually looked pretty interesting. I would love to have those now!!! Similarly, google glass is like a stone abacus, while what was in the vision was like a quantum computer. Just zero comparison

Your entitled to your opinion. But I would actually bet money on the spirituality machines as far as odds go. Interestingly I just checked my U2U and another ATS'er told me there's already a machine out there that opens the third eye:

Though the one I saw was a helmet and a chair with lots of lights, frequencies, seems to be some sort of electromagnet light devices along the spine, lots of wires, and a computer hooked up to it just like in the pic above. Nothing like the above, but still it kind of shows that minds are starting to think and act on these sorts of theoretical, maybe factual, possibilities

Testing. Well lost a post, but that helmet is used during abductions hard wired into your head, as I saw both with an online friend who was having missing time, and with my son, who seemed to be in some kind of training, that really made me angry.

I'm going to call nope on this prediction, because while many of the things mentioned are already known to be possible they happen in different ways from how they're described.

1. Universal Wifi via Atoms/Light. Internet will be accessible anywhere in the Universe, as long as you have an atomic router, no matter the distance, planet, how light years away.

Packets of data being non physical entities aren't going to be sped up past the speed of light minus some new technology as that would require a physical construct however there's a principal known as quantum entanglement. Using this it is theoretically possible to send data instantaneously over any distance. Let me explain how it works. Take a deck of 52 cards and shuffle them so that it is random. Pick one card and without looking at it (so that it is still in an unobserved state) mail it to someone across the country. Now look at the remaining 51 cards. By using the process of elimination you can determine what the other card is even though you don't have access to it.

2. The same principle as # 1, I've seen that detectives will be able to locate anything, anybody, anywhere by simply having someones dna, blood, etc. Or similarly, a device where you can insert gold, diamonds, oil, water, etc and the device will pinpoint where in the ground these things are.

This one might sound insane but is theoretically possible provided we solve a few of the Millennium Prize problems.

3. Zero point energy + cold fusion + nuclear isotope batteries powering everything and no more need for oil/gas

There would still be a need for oil. Freedom from oil doesn't mean no more drilling, it means using it only for materials manufacturing and not for energy/fuel. Zero point energy is a high yield limitless source of energy. If we were able to create it there would be no need for any of the other sources.

4. Spirituality machines that awaken people into Enlightenment. This will create a tech religion, and many of the fundies of the Abrahamic 3 will be against it, but too little too late.

Have you ever heard of transhumanists?

5. Larges swaths of the population will merge with A.I. which will do the majority of thinking for them

This has already happened. We're not physically plugged into machines but how many of us make our decisions atleast in part by the feedback from a machine?

6. I saw people walking around with 3d goggle/headsets which superimposes a screen on the rest of reality. Its transparent so you can see externally but also have access to info, news, internet, etc.

Google Glass. In the future we will likely have these things in contact lenses. There is no reason to have a headset when contact lenses or glasses can do the job.

6. Most people taller, smarter, healthier, longer life spans via genetically modified bodies. I saw men really built muscles but without needing exercise, all about 6'6" or taller, and women also about 5'11" to 6'2". First only the rich, then upper middle class.

This contradicts the outcome of one of your below predictions.

7. U.S. I saw broken up into pieces, decentralized, with some of the sections structuring republics, and others being invaded by China, particularly southern states.

Invading a power with nuclear, biological, chemical, cyber, and financial weapons of mass destruction seems very unlikely. Especially when said population is heavily armed. Projecting force is very difficult, with our manpower and technological advantage the US could barely project itself into Iraq. I just don't see how this is possible.

8. Really strong, stronger than titanium, metal that is light as a feather.

This is very possible, but I would expect future breakthroughs in material engineering to consist of metals that can be created by merging two other powdered materials with a laser due to 3d printing.

9. An organic/inorganic type of glass that not only naturally absorbs light for solar power, but also is able to breath like skin and can be "set" to always maintain a mean/average temperature within it and allow oxygen to seep through. People will start building houses mostly out of this.

This has already been invented (though your description is slightly off). It's a film that is applied to windows and it relies on carbon nanotubes. Eventually people will probably build homes out of carbon nanotubes. They are extremely strong.

11. Anti-gravity via a rare element that can be synthesized.

If you believe Bob Lazar we've had this for awhile, it's element 115.

12. Still lots of fighting versus a bunch of fundies, see mostly islamic, who still want to stay in stone age while the rest of the world moves on with all of the above tech and spirituality advancement.

I don't know about this. There was a time in history where the Islamic world was the center of research and science. If the oil in the Islamic world ceases to be important they will catch up as their income disappears and people lose their reason to fight against the infidels that want to plunder their resources.

13. This one is my favorite, but has scary implications. I saw machines that basically have a synthetic human brain in them as an interface, and this allows people who have recently died, to still be able to communicate with their family using a synthetic voice. This could lead to evil as well, because a spirit can be ensnared in certain tech contraptions that will come later

If we can upload a brain to a machine, why would we ever die? You could become a machine and live forever. You would be faster and stronger than any person. You would be more durable. Your perception of a body would be forever altered as you could modify yourself into whatever form you wished. You could spend 20 years on a machine arm in a factory and then 20 years in an "unmanned" aircraft flying so high and so fast that even the birds would be jealous of you. Age would also cease to have meaning as you would no longer be confined to just one body that ages.

OP

I must tell you that your visions of the future look like visions of HELL for me.

In other words if Satan wins, we will have the future you are talking about.

I guess you would label me as "Fundie"

I see myself as very ANTI-Transhumanist. For reasons I could write pages and pages about.

There's a HUGE difference there. I also saw kids playing games in parks with the goggles because the goggles were superimposing a whole game for them to play out in a park by making it look like a whole bunch of stuff was there, that wasn't. Doesn't look like goggle glass would superimpose and whole new world over a tiny square.....you'd need all your vision covered.

You may want to look into something called augmented reality. If you combine that with computers that give you an overlay you can create digital objects out of nothingness. Throw in some network ability and multiple people could use the same object.

So far these concepts haven't really been unified but it hasn't been due to lack of ability, only because of a lack of interest. Augmented reality has been pretty unpopular.

This is what prevents me from posting and sharing my experiences in ATS because of immaturity and close mindedness. Why on earth someone thinks we need to smoke something t have an awesome experience is beyond rational thinking. Shame on you sir!!

Post your experiences in a thread anyways. Who cares what some anonymous person on the internet says?

I can't let any discussion about Google Glass go without posting this trailer for the anime Dennou Coil which really shows off the potential for this sort of technology. Unfortunately, for some reason, this show has never been localized except for Australia.

Skip to 1:45 for the really interesting bits.

What I see as immaturity and closed-mindedness are those who are so self-important and think that they are so absolutely correct about every little thought that they have - that they can hypocritically dismiss anyone who thinks differently than they do by sinking to name calling (i.e. "fundies").

When you have to resort to belittling people who believe differently, you've lost any amount of respect that you incorrectly assume you deserve.

My point exactly.

Let me get a ladder so I can help you dismount your readily apparent high horse. It's kind of funny, you consider me close-minded and immature for questioning how the OP seemingly dreamed up an essentially updated version of '1984', without even going into the slightest detail of his meditation rituals.

If you ask me, the only immature or close-minded thing is to blindly believe the information we're being fed.

Also, you're not my grandparents, so please spare me the "shame on you" speech.

How would this work.. not having to work for "Enlightenment".. what kind of enlightenment are we talking about here?

People aquiring Buddhahood by technology sounds absurd in the extreme and would negate the whole idea of spiritual evolution itself. I don't see that happening, I don't see higher ups allowing that kind of thing to happen either, if it was even possible, which I doubt.

Stimulating and "opening" chakras though, I could see that happening, cleansing the meridian system, I could see that too.

You don't need to have visions to see these things. Just read some books.

Most of this stuff has already been hypothesized.

I find this to be a really interesting amalgamation of current popular/well marketed trends.

Accuracy will be known in time, but given that many of these are right here and now, I don't feel it is unreasonable to suggest current trends will continue.

In reference to the goggles, I will wait for the contact lens version

The deception of enlightenment through machines is very likely as it will allow direct manipulation of spirituality instead of proxy manipulation through social constructs like religion.

There are paths to Enlightenment now that don't require work, like say Zen, or Neo-Adviata which says there is no "you" to get Enlightened in the first place, and this "seeing" that there is no you, uncovers Enlightenment. I know I guy who was riding his bike in the forest appreciating the surroundings and instantly dropped into Unity Consciousness(as just one aspect of Enlightenment). I also know a woman who went to a retreat, accessed Enlightenment, and started crying that she wants her "I" back, to "please put it back," so obviously, she wasn't ready for it. I'm sure this/these tech/machines will give the same different number of opinions about the end result as there is today.

This kind of tech won't come from the higher ups. It'll come from the people, self proclaimed inventors/tinkerers who will pass on the schematics out for free, while others improve on the initial design. From my studies of Enlightenment, many Eastern branches say that all you need is to have your Central Channel opened (Sushumna, Chong Mai, etc) to gain access, so it doesn't seemed far fetched to perhaps see this central channel correlate to the spine or sympathetic nervous system, or a nerve/channel of some sort that can be stimulated to open.

Yeah, but we, or at least I, don't know the background of those persons, they may have been working on themselves spiritually for thousands of lives prior to this happening in this life of theirs.
Often such things are decided before incarnating, even.

Not earthly higher ups, management for this Earth, the spiritual hierarchy.

Totally circumnavigating and therefore negating the very idea of spiritual evolution seems very counterintuitive to the whole process, I just can't see it happen.

Gonna send you a U2U..

Glasses in the future?
we are starting to use eye implants now.
for blind people.
the future will be brain implants.
you will see it in the mind.

True virtual reality.

I think dream films will be a Great idea.
part dream mostly computer film.
put into your mind when you dream.

your mind will make the emotions possible.
witch will give you the ultimate film experience possible.

I must tell you that your visions of the future look like visions of HELL for me.

Adapt or die, cause it is what it is. Culture evolves, tech evolves, people evolve. Using the internet is HELL for people over 80, but everyone else can't live without it.

In other words if Satan wins, we will have the future you are talking about.

Who said anything about Satan in all of that? The thing is, the battle between good and evil will always continue until there is one finalized victory. Its been going on since man was created, going on now, and who knows how long it will continue. Good news is that the Enlightenment Tech-Folks will start putting together mini-utopias that will actually work on a small scale.

I see myself as very ANTI-Transhumanist.

and yet you use the internet to post on ATS, and probably have a cell phone to boot. everything in moderation
