MODS: I thought there was a "Member Music" forum, if so; please move it as you see fit. If this post is somehow innapropriate, please delete. Thanks, either way.

So, the band I thump tubs for, - F -, is opening for the legendary Misfits tomorrow!!! I'm nervous, but in a great way! They're expecting over 1,000 people!

I've been playing for a long time, and F has been around for 30+ years (Miami, FL-based, if you are aware of the scene there), but I've never played in front of this many punk fans. I'm wound up tighter than a Tesla coil!!! HAAAaaaalp! lol

Any advice, anecdotes, or messages for Jerry Only from you ATSer's?

I'd appreciate any feedback. I'm freakin' out, here!

I ``thump tubs`` as well as you put it and have been put in some crazy pressure situations.
Relax, feel the groove, stay in the pocket and don`t worry about a thing.

The Misfits are legendary.
I envy you and good luck.

Hey hey right on and congratulations!

Breathe, center, focus and you'll pull off an amazing show!

Very cool you'll be rubbing elbows with the legendary Misfits.
Should be some good exposure for F .

I'm checking out your music now!

ETA: Oh yeah, this is good stuff! The crowd is gonna LOVE YOU!

1. Does he have any Kryst the Conqueror on cd or vinyl and if so how can i get it?
2. For the lulz , no chance of Doyle and Danzig showing up right?

Congrats all the same. Any time you are in a band and you get a chance to open for anyone with any name recognition (even if it's just 1/3 of the classic Misifts ) it has to be an awesome feeling . Hopefully the show goes well and it's something you remember for a long time!!!!

So...you just lost all anonymity. You're the scheduled drummer for a band performing before the ? Misfits? (Sorry, that time was thirty years ago).
and you're exposing yourself.

Maybe a moderator will be along to give you a little heads up...but...as cool as I think it is that you are doing what you are doing...this isn't the place to be advertising who you are. There are real crazies out there who lurk and post. One of our own shot up a movie theater in CO during "the Dark Knight"...that's why we keep our posts vague.

ahh that brings back memories

I used to play in punk bands a long time ago on the local scene, there was even a band called Capital F. We would get paid $200 and a tub full of beer (48 cans). Don't worry about the 1000+ crowd because you wont see much passed the mosh pit from up there. Enjoy yourself, I jealous as hell.

Thanks for the concern, but I outed myself in my Intro post. I try to stay out in the open.
(I know it's not the wisest path, but one well-trod, nonetheless)

Thanks, Mayng! That's a good point on what I'll be able to see... lights in my face, too. That helps a lot!

Whenever I play live, I vomit first., take one shot (or 2) of tequila and NEVER look at the crowd until on stage. Most stages will also not be conducive to you seeing the people in the deep because of the lighting. Especially if a raised stage.

First few minutes, concentrate on your band members first...just like in the basement.

Trust me it's a good thing.

Peace
