I honestly feel that there will never be any kind of peace on earth unless religion of every form was abolished.

But humans will just find other nonsensical reasons to kill no matter what.

Why not make all violent crime punishable by death?

An ensured quick death can be one hell of a deterrent if administered on a national level to the fullest extent.

You are worried about religious extremists-it would take care of them AND the type of people that do the killing in my area.

I kinda agree with you, but then the Romans used to crucify people for all sorts of reasons yet they were hardly a peaceful society.

It would be nice if we could drop religion or all come to one viewpoint on it, but the variables of the human psyche i.e some genetic predispostion toward believing in 'sky fairies' as one athiest once amusingly put it to me and our ever differing points of view on any single topic prevent it from happening in reality.

I myself am a christian and I not a homosexual finding such persuasion totally alien to my mind but it is a big world filled with people and they are people not animal's, I may find it distasteful but it does not give me or anyone else the right to judge them at all and many of them I know are actually decent people, they are not peodophile's and it is a matter betwen consenting adult's of the same persuasion so it is there business.

It actually strikes me that this pastor is in the wrong religion, like many he keeps going to to law's from the time of the exodus and here is what god commanded through his son not this hypocrite's mouth, Repent and sin no more, though shall not kill, love thy neighbour as thyself, do unto other's as you would have done unto you, by your measure you shall be measured, judge not lest ye be judged, blessed are the mercifull for they shall recieve mercy (mow many of the medic's risking there lives to treat people with ebola are actually gay, this paster is not worthy to stand in those people's shadow) and he should perhap's have a dynamite vest on as it matches his rather evil minded rhetoric.

All flesh must die anyway, the soul is what matter's so here is what you do with people like this man, LEAVE HIM TO GOD as he shall be judged as he has judged other's and it shall be measured unto him as he has measured unto other's.

As for the contradictions in the OLD TESTAMENT law's, the Ten Commandment's came direct from God and almost all other law's came from men, those that contradict God's law's well - christ said you can serve only one master or you will despise one and hate the other.

Like I say though it is a persuasion that is alien to my mind but christ also said, "Let he that is without sin cast the first stone" and christ who himself was innocent of all sin saw them all drop there stone's then dropped his own (Which he was going to cast at the first hypocrite to throw one not at there intended target - as you judge so shall you be judged) and said "Then neither shall I".

So unless this pastor mend's his way there is not a snow ball's chance in the middle of the lake of fire for him come judgement day.

Buzzy has a knack for knowing why you post what you post. Somehow...

Having read about this and viewed the article, the following can be stated:

While his words are disgusting and once again, it shows that people use religion as a weapon the bottom line, is that he has the right to speak and say he wants. That is the nature of the First Amendment and as sick as his words are, there is nothing anyone can do, unless one thing happens.

The only way he can be shut down, is if and only if someone, a member of his congregation takes his words to heart and ends up attacking or killing someone, using his words as justification. If that happens, then he can be arrested and held as an accessory to murder and inciting violence, along with having his church shut down, large fines and ultimately jail and prison time.

This is based off of several supreme court cases, where they stated in the rulings, that a church is given a lot of leeway. However, when it breaks the law, or leads to a felony, then it loses that right and can be gone after in the courts. Make no mistake, that we should pay attention to that area of the country and to see if any who are of the GLBT community have been attacked or even killed and look into the background of the suspect, if there is a tie to such, then that church should be shut down.

I don't recall anyone in this thread saying we should arrest him. You know, part of the 1st amendment means that we have the right to voice our dissatisfaction at people who say things we disagree with.

There are ancient homosexual and bisexual greek graffity over 2000 years old, the Spartan's had relationships with the young boy's they tutored to become the next generation of warrior's, there are references to male prostitutes in the bible used in pagan temple's so yes it is natural but there is or would seem to be a far higher statistical probability for a child to be born with this persuasion and that may not be natural, weather it is or not the nature is locked and they should not be persecuted for something they have no control over.

One other reason that has been put forward to the apparently far higher statistically probability of being born gay is that it may be down to population saturation as it has been seen to increase in statistical probablility in dense rat population's and this was drawn as a possbile population control mechanism so the observer's postulated could such a mechanism be at work in the human species.

Reason: imo being a pastor is gay, hence fulfill his God's commands.
